Charter Senior Living

My mom moved into Charter (formerly Morningside) in August of 2013. Her first comments were: "There's nobody here but old people. I don't play bingo. I'm not going down for meals." Within a few short weeks, I was visiting her and noticed she kept looking at her clock. I finally asked why and her response was "Bingo starts in 10 minutes." Needless to say we had a change of heart and attitude. One of the most impressive things there is the nursing staff. Currently, the group there are the best in my opinion. Not only are they skilled nurses but they go over and above to take care of their people in every way. They did an amazing job during the Pandemic. The current director is doing a wonderful job and she has years of experience under her belt. I would highly recommend Charter to anyone looking for a place for Mom or Dad!

The thing that is really helpful is that they are very good about developing relationships with not only the residents but with the families as well. My mother was very reluctant but don franks worked diligently to make connections and make her feel more comfortable in her transition. We were able to get a small grant from Charter and helped my mother and assisted her in moving, there is no way we could have done that without them. My mom has had health issues and they have done a great job in assisting her. I cannot say enough about them and I would highly recommend them to others looking.

I met with [name removed]. She was so nice and present. She was very knowledgeable of the community and what it has to offer. She introduced me to the rest of the team. Everyone was so nice and polite.

They really try to be as pleasant as possible and make the residents feel comfortable and cared for. The staff go out of their way to learn everyone's name and help them out. I know quite a few people who have had their parents here and they rave bout it. It is a very well run facility and they have a lot to offer. My loved one has a studio apartment and it was a kitchenette and large walk in closet and spacious bathroom, my understanding is it used to be a Marriott. We have had a good experience and I would recommend them to others looking.

The community is very helpful. A Place for Mom made the transition easy for our loved one to find a community. The staff are always able to answer questions, are attentive, and attend to all your loved one's needs, along with being responsive to questions and concerns the family may have. The apartment, changing of linens, transportation for doctor appointments, housekeeping, care for your loved one, laundry, and all the meals are included in the monthly rate. Bathing assistance, and medication management are some of the care the community will offer your loved one depending on their level of care needed.

This is a great place for people looking to secure their loved ones that provide round the clock care with autonomy. I feel my loved one is safer here than living on their own. The staff are really good. The administrator is quick to respond to questions or concerns that are brought to her attention and to speak to the family. All meals and snacks, laundry, care, activities, transportation, housekeeping, the apartment, and utilities which are included in the monthly fee. Bathing assistance and medication management are some of the care that the community is able to provide to the residents. Piano playing, church services, game nights, bingo, family nights, art classes, exercise classes, bird watching, and more are some of the activities for the residents to choose from. The food seems to be good. There are choices given to my loved one the night before and then the food is served the next day in the dining room. If a resident isn't able to make it to the dining room the community will work with the resident in getting their meal to them.

I loved Cedarhurst of Moline, if I were to need this type of care this is the place that I would have chosen for myself. It is a smaller setting with only about 35-40 residents, so you get to know others on a personal level. The facility was clean and had a lot of windows and natural light which made it an uplifting and happy atmosphere. For my friend, she was wanting a larger facility so that was the only reason we did not go with Cedarhurst.

They are wonderful people at this community. They are very caring and they have made the transition with my loved one much easier. The tour was wonderful, they were very accommodating, very warm and open with me and they made it a great experience for me. I would refer other people to this community also. There are also nursing staff available for the residents all the time which helps.

I toured this community with my siblings. The admissions director walked us through the entire process. The building is fresh and clean. Staffing are very helpful throughout the entire move-in process. It was a relief to know my mom will be around kind and caring people

Fox Hollow has gone out of their way to make it like home and they've been very supportive of my mom and the family as well. communication is on an as needed basis and generally we do initiate that. our loved one has only used the call button once or twice and the first time it was immediate and the second time it took about an hour, but that was on the weekend. I do think there's a good staff to resident ratio, it seems to be a bit less on weekends which is understandable; but aside from that they have ample staff. as far as activities, they offer worship services, bingo, movies, bible study, and arts and crafts, just to name a few. they also offer transportation to appointments and grocery stores; Tuesday-Thursday it's free and on other days there's an additional fee. my loved one especially loves the food, and the family loves how accommodating and nurturing they have been towards us. I would recommend this community to others.

Our famly loved Cedarhurst of Troy and thought it was incredible. They put great emphasis on friendliness, and I appreciate the help we got from them as a family. Their accommodations were as good as I could expect, in fact better. I have nothing bad to say about it.

We like the fact it is a smaller scale community so you are able to get to know the nurses and care givers much easier. Everybody was super friendly and we do believe our loved one received the best care possible especially towards the end. It is a tough job trying to coordinate activities but we do believe they did their absolute best

We chose Cedarhurst of Troy because we had a really really good feeling about the place after our tour and they also had hospice staff available which was something that was important to us since we knew it would not be long. I found everyone extremely helpful especially since we had never been through this process before. I would recommend them to others looking and already have.

I have lived at Cedarhurst of Mequon for 3 years! I really enjoy the meals, the staff, all of the activities/outings we do. Along with the quiet neighborhood, friendly residents, cleanliness of the building. I would recommend Cedarhurst of Mequon to anyone looking for a community that cares.

this community will be beautiful when finished. however, the office personnel are wonderful already! they are so friendly, helpful and really great about communicating about the community.
