Bottom line, you must always be an advocate and call attention to what your family member needs. Cleanliness of Facility:9 everywhere, but my husband’s room, which I give a 6. I just had a conversation about doing a more thorough clean weekly and especially after residents have bathroom issues. Poor communication between head of memory care and staff. After all that, I would recommend Cedarhurst, but just pay attention

It was a very nice facility, the help was friendly. Real nice room that they was going to reserve for the two of us. One big problem. They didn't tell us up front that this is a private pay.once your money runs out, your out. No medicaid accepted. They told that fact to my grandson while I was in the bathroom. Later on our way home I ask my grandson if tour guide told him anything that we should know and that's when I found out about the no medicade. I was very disappointed with the tour guide, when I called her she said I didn't ask. I told her that was the first thing she should have told me, way back when I talked to her on the phone, it would of saved me a 200 mile trip.

The person who guided us was new and couldn’t give us much information. We cannot afford the facility.

For the price we pay, we feel we get advantage care with premium price. They have gotten better over the last few months. Memory care has a new director of nursing and the facility has a new executive director. You really have to stay on them with cleanliness and the staff. Apartments are a good size. Food and dining from what we can tell has been very good. Activities are normally daily and they seem to like them. Keeps getting better so it will continue to go up as long as they stay on course.

Overall the facility was fine, the dining area could have used a little more attention to cleanliness at the tables. I believe they may have been short staffed and needed a lead person to help the dining staff. She was not real happy there so we moved her out to a new facility.

I think it's better recommended for seniors that are Mobile and can participate in the activities because that's what the facility is strong at. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law needed quite a bit more care and we had to stay on them all the time to make sure she got what she needed. She also didn't like the food they tended to have the same food over and over and the more care you needed the more you paid, but you didn't necessarily get any other added Care. We ultimately had to put her on hospice to ensure she got the right care while she was there.

Good- Staff very friendly, many activities, food was usually pretty good, facility was pretty clean and kept up. Bad - communication. Ie: To get something fixed or put up in a room, General Manager, Tom - unprofessional. Elevator issues on going problem. My mom was there for not even 2 weeks. Elevator 4-5 days of this. She would be stuck in her room or lobby since she can't take stairs. Only after the third day it was down did staff inform residents on 3rd floor they would bring meals to them at no charge. After she had been gone for over a month, they decided to take over [removed dollar amount] out of her bank account without any notice leaving her [removed dollar amount] neg balance....claiming she owed for a 90 day notice. She was within the satisfaction time period to leave. What they took out was MORE than what 90 days would have been.

The staff is very nice and it is a pleasant facility that is welcoming The sales people should stop telling potential residents that they provide these services weekly. They do not. How about they pay more so they can fill openings?

My mom's apartment wasn't cleaned prior to her moving in. Sanding dust over everything. Windows needed washing as well. Couldn't stop her moving in because we had movers. The director has been made aware. Facility itself is clean. My mom is happy with the people except for the Nurse Practitioner who is only there 1 day every 2 weeks. They are nice until I have a question and/or concern, then I get a round about response and nothing is accomplished. My mom has been disliking it the food. They get you in with broken promises and then are blind sided with add'l cost. I feel short staffed but I don't live there. Not sure if it would be any better somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend the place.

Unfortunately the food is not very good, and they seem to run out of basics frequently. I would hope for improvement before I would recommend.

Often have to wait for an extended period of time to be let in to the memory care area. Have seen residents at meal time unsupervised I would not fully recommend them. I think in our case it would be more disruptive to our family member to move her, than to deal with the issues that we have with Cedarhurst

Apartments are very nice. Dining was always short staffed and food was sometimes cold. My mom was very independent so her only complaint was the dining. She enjoyed the activities.

Cost at the beginning of the visit was the main reason we chose Cedarhurst of Naperville. It's more expensive now. Planning to move my friend out of there soon.

For the most part I'm satisfied with dad's care. He has his 2 favorite caretakers and 2 med techs but a few of the caretakers are lazy. They've had a turn over of help recently because a Cedarhurst opened in Wentzville.

Overall, Cedarhurst was a nice place for my mother-in-law. She did not engage much nor use the cafeteria a lot for meals so ratings on food and such are kind of hard for me to give.. there was always a director and or assistant director on site. However, they were always in their offices and they seemed very bogged down with work and I did not see much interaction with them and the residence. They did have a receptionist at all times and all of them seem to interact quite a bit with the residence when they would walk by the desk..

Staff is friendly, the assisted living is minimal help with add on costs for any extra care. My father passed away in the memory care there last month and if we wouldn’t have had Hospice for his end days , I’m not sure how we would have gotten any communication about what was going on. I never saw the Nurse administrator or faculty administrator until a hour after my dad had passed. Hospice was our saving grace! Not Cedarhurst.

The facility is very nice. Most of the help are nice. My concerns lie in the turnover of staff especially for activities. I’m not confident my Mom is getting showers or getting her clothes laundered bc she fools the staff and they fold. She’s always in the same clothes even though she has many tops/jeans. I try to visit at different times to get the vibe. I’m amazed I have to alert the aids when there are residents that need to be cleaned up. It makes me feel bad for them.

Full time staff was very good but they were often short and had agency CNAs that didn't respond well. Admin staff seemed to listen well but weren't able to resolve the staffing issues. COVID didn't help.
