Mr. [name removed] was helpful and quick to assist with my mother’s cable connection during a move.

Most people seemed friendly but they did not do a good job of cleaning. They had kids doing cleaning and when I complained they sent someone who only swept the floor. We have moved my mom bit someone only cam twice to clean in the 3 months she was there. That was totally unacceptable. Food was acceptable most days.

I originally thought this would be a great place for my mom. She does like her studio apartment and the location is great. The staff did a complete turnover very recently which resulted in a bit delay in receiving services. Our main complaint is the food. We were told the menus were done by a dietician and there were always alternate choices for the specials. So far this is not the case. There are times that the portions are so small the residents are still hungry. One day last week they served a half full bowl of bean soup and one slice of corn bread. A man asked for another bowl of soup and was told they were out. Another time someone asked for a slice of bread and was told they didn't have any. Lunch menu today, mac and cheese and squash, supper tonight grilled cheese and slaw. These people pay good money for assisted living and should receive a balanced meal and enough to fill them up.

It's a brand new building so they are still trying to adjust to being open. My mom seems happy for the most part. However we have some concerns that have not been addressed and some decisions on the part of the administration that don't make sense. The air conditioning in my mom's room hasn't worked since she moved in early May. It's either too cold or too hot. We have continuously complained but nothing has yet to be done. My brother was told once it was fixed but that was not true. They have a beautiful physical therapy room, however, the room is not open yet there is only 1 piece of equipment in there. No estimate on when it will be ready. However, they do have a nice movie room and a nice rec center where families can gather to visit. The staffing overall are friendly and helpful but there just needs to be more of them. The location is perfect for our family makes me happy for my mom to be able to see her children and grandchildren often.

I was not impressed with this community when I visited. It is an older community and it felt dark inside. The staff we met were nice. The community has a nursing home feel and this is not what we were looking for.

This was more of a nursing home than a home. It just did not have that home like feeling we were looking for. The staff was excellent and gave a wonderful tour. Just it did not provide his own apartment and the privacy.

I was not impressed with this community. This is an older building and the carpet looked worn. We were looking for a first floor walkout apartment and they did not have this available.

Our experience at Prairie Meadows was OK at best. I chose it over another because it is advertised as memory care. After being evaluated we we assured that they would be able to "handle" my husband. Shortly after he moved in I had surgery requiring in patient rehab. My husband acted out and they sent him, unattended!!!! to the emergency room. Obviously they were not equipped to meet his needs. The activities were unorganized. The meals were awful with no choice. Not until we have moved him to another place did we realize just how much better it could be. Sooooo. Newer isn't always better.

Facility is very clean. Staff is very friendly. Not satisfied with level of communication. We were told doctor is readiliy available and returns calls quickly, have yet to have loved one seen by in house doctor. Had an incident where loved one was taken to hospital and have had no contact from facility AT ALL! Shouldn't there be some concern for the resident's well being and time frame of return?

The management team is a joke. They never know what is going on. The staff always looks over worked and stressed out. My mother is in the back and receives no activities. I do not believe management cares. The director of nursing is never available. This place has gone down hill. For the money you spend, you do,not get the care that was promised to you when you signed the paperwork.

Although when we first moved in, the salesperson was organized and attentive. Since we've moved her in, there has been turnover constantly with two new directors of nursing, another one. Just quit there is turnover with the activity director the overall director and nobody seems to have appropriate education to take care of people with dementia

We toured here and were considering it. We saw few flags but nothing too concerning. A bit of a urine odor in memory care. A few people in an office behind a nurses station said a few curse words as we entered the memory space. As we were walking out after our tour someone we had seen in the memory care area with a resident asked if we were moving in. We said we were considering it and they warned us not to. They said their family members had been there a while. In the beginning it was good but it dropped off quickly. They said communication is very poor. Difficult to get a call back. The Executive Director is dismissive and talks more than she listens. Never enough staff. No one answers phone after hours. Lots of falls and mysterious bruises. Sometimes their mom wasn't bathed. Some staff seem to care but others are cruel and talk as if the residents arent there. As she cried she said she regrets making this choice. We decided to keep looking. I hope this helps.

We took our mother out after a little over 2 weeks there. Not a good fit for her!! The staff there are very nice and accommodating when you request something of them. However, they rarely checked in our mother (we had a camera in her room and watched it consistently). The staff spent minimal time with her in her room. The food was like cafeteria food and not good at all. Residents were minimally tended to (short staffing issues). The halls smelled of urine and BM's more often than not. Residents rarely got to go outside despite having a courtyard. The chairs in the halls are cloth and have urine stains, other areas are not cleaned/disinfected well. Not a lot of activities for the residents except TV and sitting in their chairs. Not sure how they have earned awards! They will also lie and tell you if they rent your apartment before the 30 day move out notice is up you will get a refund, then once moved out tell you they won't give the refund even when they moved someone else in!!!

My family has had a horrible experience there. Head of nursing does not know what she is doing. If you complain or question anything, there is retaliation. Housekeeping is horrible, we did a lot of the cleaning ourselves. They pushed Dover health & hospice on us, then we find out they are all owned by the same company. The service from Dover Hospice was not good. They talk about how great the food is, but most of the residents complain about it daily. Small unappetizing meals, especially on the Memory level. Half the time they don’t even give them a napkin. Always some pink lemonade type drink. Watched the server put ice into the glasses with her bare hands. I would not use Cedarhurst again for any family member, but especially not one with memory needs. We moved our parent and the service at the new facility is amazing.

The caretakers there were very good , but the corporate headquarters are immoral. The facility would not take my father back after rehab because his condition had worsened, yet they charged him for 2 months of personal care ($[fee removed]) even though he was no longer a resident. How does the CEO live with himself, stealing money from the old!!!!!

Lots of fluff. Shows good but very short on professional staff. I’m still paying on a $[removed] hospital bill initiated by Cedarhurst. This would be the last place to consider for a loved one. Again, shows well but very unskilled staff.

We, too, were awed by the “resort” atmosphere of CedarHurst. So much so that we moved our loved one into Memory Care. It is not, however, what you think. Most issues are related to the staff. The (most not all) RAs are not interested in doing their jobs as our loved one lacked proper basic care. A lot of time was spent sitting and talking or looking at their phones. If management was doing their jobs this might have been different but we hardly saw any management around unless they were walking out of their office to leave the memory care unit. The apartment was always dirty and had ants. The laundry was not handled well as things disappeared. The bedding was changed far too many times by family because it was dirty. We had a constant problem with the staff not covering the bed with the mattress pads we provided. The food was almost always cold when the staff serving it were right there but were in no hurry to serve it. Absolutely NOT worth the huge price tag.

They did not do laundry as often as they promised. My loved one dropped food on floor while eating and a day later it was still there. My loved one sat in a wet diaper. My loved one also laid on a bed with no sheets. Had we not lived close and checked often, God only knows the conditions. Sorry to say we would not recommend

It has been a mediocre experience. They need to hire a concerned and professional administrator who will do what they are paid to do. We tried to talk with them about all this but to no success, I would look elsewhere.

Go somewhere else. I would not recommend to others.
