We visited two Cedarhurst locations - Tesson Heights and Arnold. Tesson Heights accepted my loved one at his current care level (even though I'm not sure they would have been able to care for him), but Arnold did not accept him. So I found the overall Cedarhurst intake and assessment process to be contradictory. If you could combine the Tesson Heights personnel with Arnold's gorgeous facility, it would have been the perfect combo. The staff at Tesson Heights were very warm, compassionate, and accommodating, and they really listened. Whereas the staff at Arnold didn't listen as well and were more sales-focused.

A beautiful facility ,but memory care fell far below expectations.I made a huge mistake financially, emotionally and physically by not doing a two week Respite in Memory Care prior to signing for long term admission.Respite would have allowed for evaluation of facilities ability to care for a client who questioned all meds., rules and regulation.Client was not happy to be there and let it be known frequently. and used loud cursing when felt that personal space was being invaded.Staff was not knowledgeable of medications being given At no time was a meeting between staff, assigned physician, patient and family members suggested to form a personal care plan. I asked for a meeting several times and arrived at 0600 one morning to try and talk with her new physician. Told by the physician he was a busy man and didn’t have time for a discussion. Was personally present when med.tech gave inaccurate drug information.Clients pain medication came up 40+ short after admission.Count your drugs. .

The dementia unit was advertised that they had care, which was for people with those issues. The treatment was not targeted for my loved ones problems. At times people worked with her and other times they did not. They did not follow her diet or did not give her medicine that was needed. She was not getting her correct medicine on a regular basis. She made several trips to the hospital. Overall, they neglected lmy oved one. In addition, they charged a lot of money, it was expensive and I felt overcharged.

In the beginning of the tour, I was very impressed by everything that I saw. That was until we got to the memory care unit. The residents in the memory care unit were all together in a room and there was no staff member in sight. The lady giving us the tour looked mortified herself and actually had to stop our tour to go tend to the residents who were needing help. That made our decision right there.

They did great beforehand. They had an abrupt management change and patient care suffered due to this. We removed our loved one because of this. The change in care I would characterize as "fell off a cliff". Go to their sister facility instead at New Castle.

The laundry facilities were shared and this would be difficult for my loved one. Also pets were allowed; however, the resident would have to go down an elevator and go out the front door to allow their pet outside.

We didn't feel like it was the right fit for my loved one.

Up until recently I thought they were great. They are not delivering the services my loved one should get. There is not enough staff. This isn't the staff's fault that the place is short handed. They do the best they can. The meals are awful. The food is set down in front of a resident and it's cold. It seems to be overcooked or overheated and tough or cold to touch. The value of care completely sucks. What I pay for my loved one's care is not cutting it. They keep changing the security codes on the main door and the assisted living residents are getting locked out in the cold. They still have the wrong code on my loved ones door. It shows the previous resident, not my loved one and it's been months.

We toured Christina Place and when we walked in it looked dirty. We did not choose this facility because they do not offer a continuing care plan.

I think the facility opened too soon. They don't have enough staff. They heavily rely on agency. The medication issue has been a complete nightmare. I sometimes feel like moving my mother but it is such a complete time consuming endeavor to do that. She is almost 93 years old. The food is not appropriate for seniors. I have continuously asked for a mechanical soft diet but they still send tough ribs. That is not soft. There is a tremendous staff turnover. It is not worth the money that we pay. I was so optimistic about this beautiful facility but not worth the money. 90% of the staff are friendly but there are a few that have horrible attitudes. If I did not have a handicapped husband who is 83, I would bring my mother home. I just cannot take care of both of them.

They helped us out in a tight pinch when we needed a rehab facility. So they were really helpful in that respect. But it's not a place I would ever put one of my parents long term. It was not the best experience. My dad spent most of his time in his room alone. We were up there all the time, but I felt so bad for residents whose family members couldn't be there with them. The staff would just put them in the lobby area while the staff were listening to music and dancing. It was cute, but it wasn't the elderly people's music. It was the young girls' type of music. I just think they need to focus more on the people who live there and less on the staff.

Our loved one was there for respite care and he really did enjoy the meals and dining and was even able to make a couple of friends. There was one nurse in particular that was outstanding, and the lady I believe was the manager was very responsive. However there was disconnect and miscommunication between the management teams

Under normal circumstances this would be good an option. However, our experience was during the pandemic and the community had several setbacks with staffing. Seemed like corporate was making a lot of changes to the community, according to some of the residents.

The community was too large for my loved one and it felt cold.

The staff at Prairie Meadows care deeply about those they serve. It is such a inviting culture they have created. I would highly recommend Prairie Meadows.

They really are trying their best with the activities, what they are able to offer are decent. The food is the biggest problem there, they advertise it to be bistro food and that is not the case. Also, they need to have more communication, the staff members are very pleasant to work with but it seems like they never know what the other is doing. Especially when they are making changed to the covid policy, one staff member will tell you one think, but another staff members will tell you something else. There just needs to be more communication consistency with the team, but they have a new overall director so we are hoping that he tightens things up. Also, they used to be bringing the meals to the residents, but now the dining room is open. There is some inconsistency there as well, sometimes the staff members do not get a menu request from a residents, so when they are serving dinner that residents will not get their meal. The help at the community are very sweet people and very accommodating, but there are just a lot of loose ends.

They sold me on the great product but when I got my dad in here it was not what they said it was going to be and they did not care. No body abused my dad physically, but they acted like they did not care and did not have a clue what memory care was about. Communication between the staff was not good either. I did not like the place at all and I would not recommend.

Close to home. Did not go inside due to virus precautions. Information regarding fees was vague. Nurse practitioner only on site twice per week. They do provide furniture for respite care. Small facility in a quiet setting. Few activities other than bingo and cards.

York Place seems to really care about the patients. They do take good care of my mother-in-law. The family nights are really nice to get to eat and meet the other people who have family here. I do believe they could do better having a professional meeting when meeting with the family when it's time to have a consultation. Sometimes the place seems a little dirty.
