The public areas were always clean and smelled nice, they never cleaned my mom's room as they were supposed to, only change the trash. The nursing director is incredible and helped us so much. Regrettably, there were issues that needed to be resolved with how a few staff interacted with mom. Some staff were wonderful. Mom had walking issues and they brought her all her meals. They were not great about time to respond to necklaces pages or following a bath assist schedule. Food was very good.

Overall it's a good facility. Some concerns with amount of turnover of leadership and staff, and communication has been a problem at times. Attention to dad's needs has improved in last 6 months, which he needs.

When it comes to the dining area, they could used swept and wiped down more often. [name removed] is in Independent living and does not require care yet. They do offer lots of activities but she chooses not to participate. Overall yes I would recommend this community to other families, but the person would need to be more of a self starter as they do not do the beast at assigning buddies to show you around when you first arrive

Overall experience was good. Cleanliness of the facility was good. Friendliness of the staff and the residents was very nice Quality of care was excellent Administrative staff were professional Food wasn't palatable 80% of the time. Activities were okay Cost to value ratio was good, except that straight out of the can, cheapest canned, unflavored food was really not good. The facility is very nice. When you first walk in you feel at home. Then when you are greeted by the staff you feel like you're part of a loving family. I was pleased when I looked at the units, and I picked out my favorite that day.

CedarHurst is clean and nicely decorated. They have a lot of activities planned for the residents. The food could be improved upon and if you have something go wrong in your apartment, it will not get done.

The staff are friendly and go The extra mile to make sure that everything you need is taking care of. The dining room has been an issue with not enough staff and many times the food is cold because they don’t get it to you or you order hot tea and they bring it when you’re finished eating. They do have a lot of activities my mom’s favorite being bingo. My mother has made several friends which makes living there a happy place.

What I like the most about Cedarhurst of Tesson Heights is the location to Mercy Hospital and Medical doctors and facilities. The staff members promote positive attitudes. I would recommend this community to other families, but it would depend on their priorities and needs.

The management and office is not very friendly. The dining room staff is nice but the food is not good , and it's not very clean . The cost is rather high for what you get . No one would help her to the dining room and the maid service would only clean every other week . No one would take her trash . I had to go do it myself . I had to hire Senior helpers to do a couple things that the people at the facility should have been doing . Senior helpers were fantastic. But it was [removed] more per month for them to give her the medication and check on her a couple times a day I had to actually fill the prescription box myself . Cedarhurst also charged her I believe over $[removed] at the beginning for a med alert necklace . But if she used it they would charge her for each time she would push the button . It seems Cedarhurst was after every penny they could get , but didn't want to help .

I have made good friends here. The facility changed ownership not too long before I moved here.I think the new ownership has lots to do with my answers. The people who lived here before said it was better. And the building and all are 20 years old. We have had problems with the internet since I moved in. And have had 3 or 4 new big bosses. Most of the staff now is new.

Administrative staff: rude, threatening, uncommunicative, unprofessional. Attitude “what I say is the way it is” unreasonable, nonnegotiable How can this facility call a residence room an apartment. That is misadvertisement, telling an untruth. misleading. If you don’t like what’s served at mealtime and ask for something else you may be told NO and go hungry. Items stolen from room.

Cedarhurst of St. Charles was a safe place and i spent a lot of time with him in the memory unit. The meals could have been better and the attendants were lovely young ladies but overworked. I had to keep checking on laundry and meds and it was expensive as hell.

Some staff members were fantastic. Overall, the facility feels dated and it was often short staffed. We were never given an orientation, so we had no to guess at things. I would suggest that they find a way to keep their guests from hanging around at the main entrance. Not a great look to see people shuffling around in wheelchairs, or worse yet, sleeping (and snoring) in them.

The meal staff was great! The move in process was fine, moving out not so much. The communication lacks, you would think it should be fairly easy to get a call back, but it's not. I think if you have NO health issues, it would be a nice place.

Director is responsive to feedback, support staff is not super friendly, nursing staff is mostly friendly, food is not good, but seems to be improving, and the event offerings are impressive for the size of the community

One of their care givers was rough with my husband in showering. The staff member also tormented him (I witnessed this on more than 1 occasion). I met with administrators. They admitted she is emotionally immature & has been moved away from my husband. All other staff have been very professional & treat all residents with kindness & dignity. Disappointed with consistent good quality of food. One instance, yesterday I ate dinner with my husband. Main entree good. Apple crisp dessert served icy cold. The topping on mine was rock hard. Not the first time. staff responded immediately & are working with the individual. They have 2 out of 3 good cooks or chefs. High Plains has been bought out by Cedarhurst. They will take over [date removed].

I am pleased with the administration’s desire to see the importance of a good activity director in the memory care unit. The activity director plays games with them, has an exercise program, provides afternoon snacks, and genuinely loves them.

* Not one item on the work order for room was done for move in with a weeks notice. We had to make all the changes to the room including ones that were making the room difficult for my mothers disability. * Wi-Fi access was limited or spotty & always disconnected. We were not able to use smart tv. Many seniors are utilizing technology so this needs to become a priority. We researched the solution with 3 different tech experts & shared info with ED. They need to install a mesh system NOT tell people to add a Wi-Fi booster to their rooms. This diminishes everyone's signal. * Quality of food was not up to standards from a dietary/nutritional standpoint. Was tire of menu variety after 2 weeks. Liked open restaurant style/timing experience. * We paid extra for levels of care that were not needed or followed through on. We have requested a refund for this. * Receptionist staff were not knowledgeable to answer questions and did not know how to professionally greet visitors. Exception was new woman when we moved out who was outstanding. * Cleaning staff was fantastic & communicative. * Toxicity of glue chemicals for carpet install was awful and a health hazard. Off gassing continued for 2 months & smelled of chemicals. * Activities were limited & not sufficiently challenging or interesting to engage our attention. * Limited outdoor space or areas for walking. * Unfortunately our guess is that this is still one of the better places in the area. It seems like they are understaffed & not able to keep up with really making proactive changes. * If a place is not at capacity, renters should be able to pay for a 1 bedroom for respite care. We only needed respite but still had to pay a 1X community fee of $[removed]. We only stayed there for 4 weeks total.

While this is a beautiful facility, don’t let that fool you. The level of care was quite insufficient. My mother was in memory care and at times (many times) there was one worker on her ward for 13-15 residents. I was told there would always be at least two and yet many times I visited there was only one and a few times I could not find any. And this is for residents who have memory issues. Don’t just listen to the promises made or statements made, go and observe and see for yourself. My mother was there in mid-August until November 2023. We moved her as soon as we could. It is a shame that this beautiful facility cannot deliver the level of care you pay them for.

Visit your loved one as often as possible, at different times and on different days. The caregiver team, housekeepers and dining room servers are all understaffed. There is frequent turnover on the management team and the nurse's aides complain a lot, but they work hard.

I would say it's really beautiful and one of the most reasonable places around. The food is not that great and not nutritious. I think I just expected more but maybe they are all that way. I would somewhat recommend for the price.
