Cedarhurst Living LLC

My loved one's only real complaint at this time is the manner in which they do the laundry, but I have tried to explain to him it's not a cleaners. It's simply doing laundry and there is not a ton more of care that goes into it.

We are happy that we chose Cedarhurst. I believe it to be the best place for mom. Rooms are cleaned weekly, but could use more attention to detail. Common spaces are always clean and neat. Every staff member has been unfailingly friendly. I have found issues arise that I need to intervene; residents are left to their own devices with little intervention. Medicines are administered as directed, but lifestyle choices are not monitored. Choices are provided for each meal. Limited snacks and drinks at all times. Activities are few and far between. There are long stretches between activities. The facility is worth the money. The friendly staff is excellent. I would like a better activity schedule, and more personalized care.

My loved one was previously a resident at The Enclave of East Louisville and overall her experience at this facility was pretty good overall. The activities were great. The friendliness, care services and value for cost were good. The cleanliness was okay. Some of the staff were very compassionate and others were just average.

We enjoy the staff members that work at Cedarhurst of McHenry. It is also a great location with grocery and shopping centers nearby. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to others.

Cedar Creek of Warsaw is an intimate facility that has a lot of activities which would be great if your loved one likes to join. My grandmother opts out of those. She enjoys the staff and the routine of having her meals in the dining room.

My loved one was previously a resident at Cedarhurst of Highland and he really enjoyed it there. He had some really great care givers, but they did have a good bit of turnover and some of his favorite people left for other jobs. They were very caring and kind and he was well taken care of. The food seemed fine, but the housekeeping was lacking. Overall, I would highly recommend Cedarhurst of Highland for anyone looking for Assisted Living. They seem to really care about their residents.

The staff seemed more engaged.I have spent most of my time talking with their lead sales person at the facility but I've felt him to be very honest and open. This facility was not the first choice by my parents. That first choice turned out to be a bad one. I also spent time with the resident ambassador who was very helpful.

Overall it is a nice place, food ok could be better, food seems slow. PT in house and excellent. Nurses good but slightly understaffed. RA has a high turnover, apartments and prices match the local market.

Good experience. I would recommend to others. We picked this community because it was the best available.

I am very pleased with the existing accommodations, and the additions I have been allowed to do. Excellent staff, always available to answer questions, and/or quickly respond to needs. I believe I made the right choice for my new home.

Could have been more communication with moving into Cedarhurst letting us know the ins and out of everything. Signed contract and had to wait 3 weeks before we got the emergency button we paid for for my mom. Lots of excuses till I asked for a refund. The place itself was clean. The apt my mom moved into had a odd smell in it. It did not look like my mom's apt was cleaned thoroughly when she 1st moved in. The only came 1 time and asked if she needed her place cleaned. The majority of the staff was very nice, especially the café workers. They were so nice to my mom and the head of activities were very nice. My mom did not need care. She was a level 0. So I really cannot say. Good most of the food was good except when they served food like beef stew, pork, stuff like that that was hard for the seniors to chew. We heard complaints. If you wanted to do activities they were there. Loved the movie theater Cedarhurst has. My mom hardly participated in anything. Felt like she was not encouraged enough. Too much money unless you have financial assistance from somewhere. Its ridiculously over priced and to me that was one of the least expensive assisted living places and prices are going to go up again. We took her out of there after a month. Beautiful place for the most part it's newer, nice location but not for my family. You did not get much for [fee removed] except a roof over your head and meals.

I picked this community because of the availability of a "respite" short term plan with PT/OT on site. I would recommend to others, depending heavily on what their needs are.

What I like the most about Cedarhurst of Edison Creek is all the other residents, I really like the residents. You do not feel alone at all, and the staff members here are mostly friendly. I would recommend this community to other families.

[name removed] was beyond fabulous from start to finish.. she made special time to meet with us very last minute as dads need to move was urgent. She made me feel welcomed. All the staff is beyond friendly.. checks in on dad on a regular basis. Right now he is getting bare minimum care from the facility just because of the cost of additional help with things like laundry, med management etc.. I'm doing most of that for him. His biggest complaint about the food is the lack of taste behind some of it... he has also complained a little bit about the slow service BUT just like everywhere in the world they are extremely understaffed and I firmly believe they are doing the very best they can with what they have. The activities are very repetitive from week to week which makes dad a little bored. I'm personally going to be working with a local scout group (my group) to see if maybe we can gather some different activities that the residents may enjoy. Personally I think the cost of living there is outrageous especially since they don't except medicaid but these places just are not set up for people living on a fixed income unfortunately. I am beyond grateful for a place for mom and Cedarhurst for informing me about some va benefits my dad may qualify for through patriot angels.. we are in the final steps so fingers crossed everything goes through because then we will receive money which will help off set the cost of living!

I liked the Cedarhurst of St. Charles community they were good to My mom and would recommend it. She is good, she was clean and the food was excellent. The residents were very friendly and nice as well.

Our family had an in person tour with Cedarhurst of St. Charles and the tour experience was great. We really liked the overall philosophy of the facility. The representatives were very friendly. Whether or not the offerings and services touted would have panned out is obviously unknown. We did not like the overall aesthetics and rooms much. Location of memory care on lower floor felt like we're in a basement. In the end it came down to location and that facility was not centrally located for all family members

Cedarhurst of Columbia have been wonderful. They blend into my husband's life and he thinks he's working for CedarHurst. They prepare good good and provided good care to the residents. Thanks. However there were some new items left at the front desk on the 2nd day there that were to be given to our loved one and they totally disappeared.

Unable to answer the meals and dining service since my mom was on a nectar thick liquid diet due to swallowing difficulties. Small unit with good sight lines to keep an eye on the residents. Dining/activity room has large windows allowing lots of light which make the area bright, cheerful & welcoming. Adequate seating for family to visit instead of being in the residents room. Nice area outside to sit also.

It's fine for Alzheimer's care. They had an 'age in place' philosophy but did not have the appropriate staff for deteriorating patients. No RN at night to give needed meds. People who could go to the dining room seemed to have a much better experience. They did come when we called and for the most part, the aides were good. The RN wasn't good at following through with instructions from hospice and once said he will tell her if he's uncomfortable. He was non-communicative and didn't get his meds because of her. All said, I think they are good with patients who aren't too challenging. Many similar places were more focused on female residents.

I would recommend.For the most part, mother has adjusted and is enjoying it. They seem to be a little understaffed on the weekends when visitors are there but all in all it's pretty good. We picked this community, because my mother wanted to remain in Warsaw.
