The staff at Cedarhurst has been very good for me and everyone knows me by my name.

Employees need more training, need more night shift employees. We feel we made the right decision moving here.

Cedarhurst is a great place quit expensive

Overall it has been a good experience for us. It is always hard when it is memory care. The communication with the staff has been good and they keep us updated on any changes or concerns about our loved one. The food has been ok for my loved one, overall.

I do think that the staff & everyday workers are very kind, attentive, and professional. Cedarhurst is a beautiful facility, the building itself is beautiful and lovely to look at. My loved one has a good view from their patio, which overlooks the courtyard filled with freshly planted flowers and vegetables. It's very nice. When it comes to communication between the community and our family, the nurses and CNN's are quite good at communicating. I have, however, had some issues with administration. They were supposed to give me a call about something, but they never did. Thankfully I'm very proactive and I was able to take care of the things that were lacking. I'm not saying this to complain as there's no perfect place, but for example: Cedarhurst only has certain contracted hospice facilities that they allow in. The hospice we wanted to use was not allowed in the building and that wasn't communicated with us in the beginning. It's not a big deal because the hospice we ended up using was great, but it still should've been communicated because people typically have personal preferences for that sort of thing. Also, to my knowledge there's no Director of Nursing on-site. There's no office for that person in the building, so I believe she's based out of Corporate. She does visit the building sometimes, but again, she does not have an office in the building where you can directly call her or stop by to visit. I've never had to communicate with someone through email only, but that's how it is here. She can't be reached by phone, you have to send a message so that you can be contacted via email. I tried to leave a message for her to call me once and that didn't go too well. This may be a transitional thing, because there was a Director of Nursing in the building previously. But I again, used my persistence to overcome those communication issues. These are all things I've expressed to them, and every issue I've had has been resolved well. It just took a bit longer, which is ok because no place is perfect. Overall I would recommend Cedarhurst of Dyer to others

They are limited in staff so some evenings when I visit I can only find one person in the unit. An alarm went off one night for 5 minutes before anyone came. The activities director does a great job keeping you informed and keeping them busy. They have a great outdoor space and it is open most of the time for them to use. The room is very spacious and nice.

We like that the facility is all on one level. They seem to do a good job with the activities and staying in touch with us if there's a problem. Our interactions with the staff have been positive so far.

We liked the facility, however they had a lot of agency staffing due to different circumstances; e.g. the pandemic, unable to hire people, etc. That was the only drawback, so sometimes the continuity of the care just wasn't there. Aside from that, Cedarhurst of Dyer was bright & cheerful and a couple of the staff that were there went the extra mile. Communication between the community and our family was just okay and that had a lot to do with whoever was working that day. If it was mostly agency staffing that day, they didn't quite notify us as often as we would've liked. Overall, I would recommend Cedarhurst to others.

I like that this community is all on one floor. It also has access to a courtyard so that people are able to enjoy it without wondering off. You are able to have pets and pets are able to come and visit my loved one. I looked at other places and they were two floors or would have required my mother to more if she were to have any changes and I did not want that. This is an age in place facility and works great for us.

Great chef, she is doing a wonderful job. Eating well. I get to help with activities which helps me.

Our tour at Cedarhurst of Des Peres was great. They were definitely in the running when we were looking at places. Unfortunately they were going through some renovations and staffing issues. So we chose not to go there based on challenges we had experienced at other communities that were in similar situations.

We went with Cedarhurst of Tesson Heights because they had just redone the rooms, it had new carpet, new paint, and new cabinets so it was updated and fresh. A lot of the rooms and parts of the facility are still under construction, once it is all said and done it will be really nice. I would tell others that if you bring things to their attention, they really work on making it right which is reassuring. I would recommend to others looking.

We had a great tour experience with Cedarhurst of Blue Springs. The staff were friendly and the facility was nice. It was just too expensive at the time

In our limited experience, we thought it was a very nice facility. The staff was helpful for people who have Alzheimer's. Know that they do require you to give two weeks notice to vacate, even if your loved on passes away, which I think is kind of ridiculous. But that seems to be true for other communities in the area as well.

I would recommend you check out Prairie Meadows Senior Living for your loved one. This was a fine community for our loved one. The staff communication with the family was really good and they kept us informed.

I think that this community is easy to talk to when it comes to your loved one. They are very receptive to feedback. So far this is a good place and it has been a good fit for us. They have activities like bingo, fly swatter volleyball, music activities where entertainment comes in and the residents can listen or dance and more for the residents to do.

Our family had an in person tour and it was just not going to be an appropriate fit, they only have care levels for assisted living and memory care and our loved one needed independent living.

The newness and cleanliness of the community really stood out to our family on the initial tour we took.
