The staff makes sure everyone is clean and they make sure to keep sanitizer available for residents because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Most of the staff is friendly. We still get to associate as long as we stay apart at a safe distance. There are no activities right now because of the virus. The community is a little bit expensive.

The facility is very nice and the rooms are very spacious. With the new executive director for memory care, I expect ordination with the caregivers to improve. Overall, we really like the facility.

I toured at Brookdale with my loved one and I really liked this community. I thought it was a beautiful facility, but my loved one did not like it as much. If it had not been for the cost, we may have gone here.

My loved one used to live at Sierra Del Sol, and it was a very nice community. It is definitely an upscale place with plush settings and super nice furniture. The dining room is fantastic, like going to a restaurant, and I like that they have enclosed courtyards so the residents can go out on their own to get some fresh air. The shared rooms are laid out in a way that as you enter, you step into a small foyer, there you can go left or right depending which room is yours. The large rooms are divided by a large bath room with sliding doors on each side. The rooms have built in cabinets some with lockable doors and windows for a lot of natural light. They are also wheel chair friendly. The long hall ways have windows on one side that look out into the court yard, the only draw back was it seemed to confuse my loved one. With that said she is suffering from short term memory. Just a note of gratitude to the staff; my hat is off to you for such a wonderful job, great job [Removed]!

I toured this community while I was looking for a place for myself. I am an outdoor person and I like to be able to go outside, but I noticed when they were showing me the rooms they only had ones with just windows. They keep up with the cleanliness and the food is good, I have dined there a few times. There were some issues that I dealt with that I do not want to get into, but the people there are happy and they seem to have a lot of activities, one of which I know is going to the casino. Ultimately I went with a different community.

I was not impressed as to how the tour went at this location. My friend and I felt that the person running the tour had a previous history in used car sales because that is the way he was handling us. He was trying to up sell something that we were not interested in. He wasn't really very helpful when asking about pricing or other questions he was passing the buck so to speak saying we would have to ask this one or that one. The front office people were nice. We didn't like that the complex was huge and it just turned both of us off.

The tour of this community was nice and the staff were very confident that they could give the care that is needed. They have separate sides of care depending on the residents. they provide alot of information. The community was clean and the rooms were nice.The menu was appealing and it was nice to see the other residents being active. I would recommend this community for other families to tour.

My loved one is settling into the Waterford Grand much better than expected. When we toured this community last year in January, the administration lady that was there was very sweet and followed up. we loved her but she moved and they replaced her with Shawna. When we went to move my loved one into the community, [Removed] took us around the building again and did not talk to any of the residents or know them by name. Once my loved one moved in, she walked by us 3 times and never even said hi. Also, we had no help or guidance upon move in. I am happy with the care my loved be is receiving from the staff, but I think[Removed] might be in the wrong job.

Lovely spot for our moms final days. Clean, cheerful, nicely decorated. Staff is incredible. Nice, thoughtful, well trained, and honestly caring. Food is okay to good. Could use some work on that. I would highly recommend this spot.

This community seemed clean and I liked this community when we took our tour. They offer assisted living, memory care and respite care. I wish they had a higher staff to resident ratio in the memory care unit.

I noticed during our tour of this community I noticed how well maintained and clean the staff have kept it. The bedrooms they had to offer had a lot of space and offered great amenities to there residents. The only thing I did not care for is they wanted to place my dad into the memory care unit and I did not feel that was the right fit for him.

I have noticed how happy mom is here at the community. The staff are very friendly, I feel secure knowing Mom is in good hands and appreciate they are on top of the medications. My mom's room is clean and well-kept along with the rest of the community. My mom has complained about the food not tasting good and the delay of serving her food. Other than that, she has really involved herself in the activities like bingo and card games and she also gets a weekly visit from the hairdresser. I would recommend this community.

I am really pleased with everything this community has done for us. They are caring for my mother very well here. The staff has been nothing but helpful and kind to us. This community is really a nice one, it looks amazing and very clean. The food at this community is excellent. There is always something for her do, they offer many activities here. It has been a great experience and we are very pleased.

The reason we chose this facility is because they were willing to work with us and letting my moms dog stay with her. This was a must for my mom.

The staff cares and does what it can to make life transition easier from living in homes to an Apt.

The lady who oversees Deerfield Village is an extremely nice and caring person. She is doing a really nice job. She recently took the place very from another person and are still in the process of implementing some changes. If they follow through with what they are saying then it is going to be awesome. Any time there is any issue they are willing to acknowledge it and address it. It is a really pretty place and they are doing a great job.

They have been fairly cooperative. It appears to be a good facility. Its kind of hard to get the right person to address something. Other than that, they are caring and make an effort.

The residents seem to feel that the food is mediocre. It often isn't properly prepared. It isn't up to home cooking standards for people used to cooking for themselves. I know she's gotten very good care. She feels that the care is good. She has to be taken to meals because she doesn't have a powered wheelchair. They are attentive to caring for her needs, and anticipating her needs, and making sure she has what she wants. The activities are tailored to the majority of the people who are there. Her feeling is that people aren't interested in things. There isn't much turnout for activities and they aren't activities she is interested in. For instance there are no opportunities to play cards with people, which is a favorite leisure activity. Bingo games are popular but seem slow. The facility itself is lovely, comfortable, and quiet. It is very well kept up. They are responsive to cleaning things up very quickly. The location is half an hour away but I live in the country, but it is in a good location.

I have a family member with dementia who has been living at Desert Hills Memory Care Facility for three months as of this review. This review is based upon my observations and interactions with staff and residents, and is more of a reflection of the ownership/administration than the quality of the direct services provided. The heart and soul of this facility truly are the caregivers and the nurses (LVNs). The nurses monitor health conditions and administer medications. The caregivers do everything else: clothe, bathe, groom, feed, toilet, monitor, comfort, redirect, lift, and provide activities for the residents. Sometimes the nurses gladly help the caregivers out. I have witnessed the caregivers and nurses having nothing but love, respect, compassion, and patience for the residents. On the flip side, remember, this is a for-profit entity; the facility is largely understaffed. There are not enough caregivers to do all that they must do to keep the residents clean, nourished, hydrated, and safe as well as they should be (and for the high cost being paid). There are not enough custodial workers (or hours provided to them) to keep the facility as clean as it should be. These are ownership/administration issues that really should be looked at for improvement, and as well should be considered when someone is thinking of placing their loved one at Desert Hills.
