There are some great caregivers AND it's important to advocate for your loved one. Some caregivers are very helpful and others want to only do things their way and so communication is key to finding a solution. This will be true wherever you go. Get to know staff as that matters too. Being kind and friendly helps your loved one get better care.

I haven't been there. My mother seems to be happy though. Her big complaint is there doesn't seem to be enough restaurant staff. Dad is in memory care. She is able to visit him a couple times a day. Staff has been helpful walking the dog when she can't.

I can’t really tell you about the stay because I don’t remember it. Therefore, I’ve asked my wife to assist. My husband seemed to think he had been kidnapped, possibly because he didn’t know any other words to express himself. He was glad to see me when I returned to get him, he was clean, appeared well fed and well rested, and was eager to go home. The staff was friendly and seemed competent. However, there were a few things I was unaware of before placing him for 10 day respite, the main one being that they do not administer vitamins or supplements unless they are listed on the form from his doctor. I don’t know how to rate the food, activities, interactions between staff and my husband as I was not there to witness and he has no memory of the stay.

They are really kind and patient with the residents and have their needs taken care of. They want to care for each resident as if they were part of their own family and good o the residents family. Really good facility.

Overall I would give it 4+ to 5. The outstanding work by the employees is greatly appreciated. My brother & his wife both are suffering from dementia & recently my brother was hospitalized & is currently in a rehab facility. They both will need memory care. During our mini crisis the employees have gone out of their way to check on my sister-in-law who has progressed in her dementia. We are on the wait list for memory care. It's the concern of the employees outshines any short comings.

Staff friendliness was rated lower due to some staff who sat and on their phones, chewing gum (one of my pet peeves) and not interacting with the residents. I think more supervision by making rounds frequently during each shift. The dietary kitchen went totally overboard when I reported [name removed] allergy to cotton seed oil which is in some store bought baked good. They completely removed bread and other baked goods from meals. I repeatedly had to tell them that he could eat some things. It was never resolved. Residents are gathered in the TV area for the day except meals. The TV is usually on or music. I only saw three activity sessions the whole time [name removed] was there. I was there every other day typically.

Appears to be a nice place, my mom says she likes it there, some communication issues with multiple calls for same thing even though answers provided on 1st call rcvd (info not shared with all staff)

The time that was most comforting was once Hospice was on board. There were several very special care givers on the staff who were always so caring. My husband's face would light up when they came in the room. They are the ones I like to think about and they were there right up to the end. We liked to visit during meal time when everyone was up and the good food was always served with a smile and the resident addresses by their name. They were never rushed and the staff would eat while helping those in need.

The reason why my ratings have been a little lower is because recently they had the health department come in and have them pass an inspection because of a complaint about the kitchen having lip marks on glasses and plates dirty their dishwasher was broken they were hand washing so they had an inspection failed and then came back and then they passed also they had a bug issue and have had to spray my loved one's room recently. They've revamped management since 2 years ago.

We really appreciated their transportation services to doctors appointments. [name removed], who transported residents, was the best and always treated my mom with kindness. Quality of care was rated lower than other categories as they need more staff for better coverage. They have recently changed shift coverage of the nursing staff over the weekend for better continuity. All of the residents there really did seem happy.

Our family member has received very good care and has amazing things to say about the staff and her day to day social experience and comfort at Cascades of Bend. We are so glad she is somewhere that she is so happy and well cared for. The one complaint is that the food is not good and they have been through many chefs during her short time there, but the food remains pretty bad. If they could fix this, it would be stellar.

Everyone that I know has a mom or at least a motherly like figure in this life. When time turns roles around and many of us find ourselves caring for our aged parents we discover we're not prepared for the change or challenges. I appreciate the information and assistance from "A Place For Mom." Heritage Springs was highly recommended and after a few visits at different places, we realized the reason for that. Many assisted living facilities try to overwhelm folks with a multitude of amenities and make everything seem resort like. Heritage Springs just seems to be exceptional in caring, comfort, and doing the right thing by its residents and family. Going to a resort is fun. It can be restful or an adventure. Its a getaway. But is a resort where you want to be when you are dealing with issues like alzheimer's, medication regimens, mobility and such? Heritage Springs feels like a home... Not a resort, but a place to be comfortable, reach out for comfort and assistace and find it.

We have found Royalton to be a very good balance between expense and service. The staff has been wonderful and really seem to care about the residents. The food appears to be fine, and the overall values is great. My mother in law is pretty far gone in her dementia but we still feel the staff give great care.

I would recommend this place as a safe and friendly place. The maintenance staff is very responsive to any issues. There are many activities for many different interests.

Feeling good about our choice.

Thus Far So Good. Albeit the increase in rent was increased the first of the New Year. Given the fact we only moved in November and then they increase the rent in January...There should have been some forewarning.

My stepfather is not as far into the need for memory as some, can still chat. Nobody in his unit speaks much! I wish they had more tactile activities and exercise. We were in a shared room, however nobody else showed up, and empty bed made room quite crowded... There is no bathrooms in the rooms Prices are high, we understand. Times are different! Staff have been great!

I would recommend Cascades.

Not enough attention to residents, food is average, not enough server's, takes too long to get waited on.

We were previously residents at Creekside Continuing Care Community and the experience, as well as the facility, was great. It really was a very nice place, but we were not comfortable there and are doing better at home.
