Bonaventure

1. Adequate 2. Common areas nice 3. They are friendly 4. Care is an issue. They do not follow thru with making sure things are done per care requisites. 5. Admin staff do not follow through with requests nor return calls. 6. Food is okay. 7. Mom didn't participate so can't answer on this. 8. Value is ridiculous. They keep raising price to unreasonable costs. Found location that offers all amenities for a much lower cost. The price is not acceptable.

We felt on the front end we were well taken care of however the care my father in law received was not what was described to us: example we were told their assisted living residence were weighed every day to monitor sudden weight gain my FIL has congestive heart failure so this is critical. The weight checks were someone just asking him what his weight was. This was disappointing as they are relying on an 88 year old in cognitive decline. We had to ask to make sure his appointment was on the cleaning schedule he received no assistance in food choices for a low sodium diet as promised in our interview with them (it's worth noting this lead directly to hospitalization 3 weeks after he moved in and ultimately him never making a strong enough recovery to return. We were told he could ask for help from the servers who are often high school age. While meals were beautiful and well prepared the assistance with his diet was lacking. I am not sure I would recommend it for assisted living however for retirement living and memory care it seemed to be done well.

The facility is clean and neat, but the food is terrible, we would give that a -10. We would not recommend Bonaventure of Vancouver to other families. Food is a big deal for the elderly. She has had sandwiches with moldy bread, they have run out of items before all have been served. The meat is too chewy and could cause choking. Everything is buried in bad sauces. It's not even average, it's bad. If moving wasn't so hard I think she'd leave. She does like her apartment and gets food from the store to supplement her meals.

We left after a year because the management had a problem. The care staff had massive turn over and new care staff often did not have experience and the training was not uniform. My mom ended up in the ER at least twice because she wasn't getting showers. They weren't always following the care plan. Nursing staff and care staff were often outside agencies who also need constant training by the client.

Our experience has not been great so far. 1. We had the room rented for 3 weeks before we moved in yet TV cable box was not set up and Mom went 2 days with no TV and when she did get it no one took 10 minutes to show her how to use it and maybe write down a few favorite channel numbers for her. 2. Took 2 weeks to get phone number straightened out. 3. During tours we were led to believe there was a nurse on site 24 hrs. Maybe they didn't say it but implied it. 4. Our move in day was a nightmare. Front desk told us to park on the side and bring stuff through there which involved stairs. Would have been much easier to come thru the front door with no steps. No one offered the large carts there but later we found out they normally do. 5. We received no orientation packet or information at all until I went up and complained because this is all new to us and we could have really used some guidance. I could go on but I am about out of space.

Hi all we signed up my parents and they moved in to Bonaventure of Lacey on the [date removed] of this year. Everyone really called back and they were super great and super informative until they had actually been moved and after that no return phone calls no feedback no keeping us in the loop. No letting us know when assessments were made. What was going on it has been a really big disappointment from that angle. Mom and dad seem to be doing all right, but we really have no idea because feedback and keeping us in the loop has happened and that was one of the main things we were also concerned about.

Very friendly residents. Helpful staff. Food is not great. They have gone through 6 chefs since My parents have been there. They have a nationwide menu, and do not allow the chefs to deviate from it. So I think they have a super high turnover rate because the chefs get complaints and can't make changes and the corporate office is too cheap to pay people accordingly and give them the freedom to do what is best for their community. My parents are overall happy at the facility.

The staff they currently have is good, although more staff needs to be hired. The food and food service definitely need improvement, and they need to order and prepare enough for the entire Bonaventure community

Run like a large corporation. Employee behave like they're being micro-managed. Always short staffed and revolving door of personnel. Paying for parking but no spots has been assigned. Housekeeping hasn't happened (supposed to be weekly) Gossip is that they're in financial trouble.

When it comes to the activities, there is not enough activities in Assisted Living that aren't memory or brain focused, such as arts and crafts, gardening, flower arrangement, basic baking classes, daily physical activities, etc. For the value for cost it is a 4 overall. 5 if in assisted living and don't need much help or assistance.

There has been at least 4 or 5 changes of executive manager over 2 years and employee turnover is terrible. My mom doesn't participate much in the activities since she can't see well, the the food is kind of bland and when gets food service to her room it's usually Luke warm and 30 to 40 minutes after the cafeteria hours.

Bonaventure of Salmon creek is very clean. The staff are friendly, just don't do what they promise due to lack of staff. With the care services, there is minimal quality of care for those needing lots of assistance. Meals and dining ok,. The activities are N/A as our loved one did not have access. It started out being a pleasant experience until they were unable to give the assistance needed. It would be ok place for independent living, but not for those needing toileting and other assistance. They are not able to keep staff and staff at a level needed for the services they promise.

We were on the independent living side so the care services did not apply to us. We moved out several months ago. The staff changed to often and their was a lack of consistency which was a problem. Based on the experience we had with Bonaventure of Salmon Creek, we would not recommend this community to other families.

I am making this review on behalf of my 89 year old mother who lives at Bonaventure. She had been there 2.5 months. The most common complaint is the food. Cold food, running out of food alot, not enough water glasses. Food not being cooked all the way. The other is not enough activities on the weekends. Short staffed all the time. The front desk performs MANY duties that pulls her/him away from the desk. She also feels the complaints go to deaf ears as the food issue has been on going. She loves her apartment. She has made many friends and during the week she is very busy doing various activities or chatting with friends. The reason I give 3 stars is due to the on going food issues.

My loved one was previously a resident at Bonaventure of Lacey Senior Living. The overall experience for us was not a good one. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Bonaventure of Lacey Senior Living to others.

The staff is very friendly but it seems they'll do their job and if you need anything else you have to be outgoing and make sure to ask them or it won't get done. They have a schedule but it's not kept like they're supposed to be movies but there's never anybody there and stuff like that just like there's no interest to do anything. They need to hire a different cook.

Shortly after my spouse and I moved into assisted living, I became extremely ill and was hospitalized for almost two months. Since no one was able to take care of my husband with dementia, they promptly put him in their memory care unit. For this, I am grateful. He likes it there and adjusted well so he is still there. In the original apartment that I rented, I found an extremely dirty drawer in the bathroom with a previous owner’s RX and brought it to the attention of management. They said they would take care of it right away, however after I came back from the hospital, the drawer was still untouched. Several times I sent emails with questions to the director, but no response until I resent the original a second time. We only ate a few meals there, but they were always out of something. First, it was ham (someone said they had been out for weeks), secondly they were out of coffee creamer. To our age group that drinks a lot of coffee, creamer is a must for some.

My loved ones were previously residents at Bonaventure of Thornton. Kitchen staff turnover was high and the food was not great. Service often took over an hour. There are only 2 tables for 2 in the dining room, my loved ones didn't like to sit with others. The front desk was great, but no communication with upper management. They never even asked why my loved ones were leaving. There was never any communication with the family. My loved ones were in Independent Living. The facility is lovely and well kept with many options for activities, transportation, personal care, etc. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of it. My loved ones just didn't want to be there.

I would say staff and residents are very nice.

The staff is helpful and the food is what you would expect from a senior center that must take into account elder needs. The kitchen is suppose to accommodate diners 0700-1900, however there is not always someone available to prepare something. The dining rooms are nice and there is a place for people to eat outside on the patio. There are many great activities that are available for residents.
