Benchmark Senior Living

Yes would recommend checking Benchmark and comparing to other assisted livings . Among the many positives we liked the layout of the Plymouth facility. It was not an overwhelming space for mom to learn to navigate. Staff very warm and welcoming and a great activity director keeps them engaged.

Lovely apartment, very Welcoming staff and residents, excellent food- but inadequate gym and activity space. I certainly recommend this residence- very well located, one hour by train to New York City, near restaurants, shopping, symphony.

Everyone working here is very friendly. They all try their best. This attitude seems to be genuine.

My mom was not always easy to deal with but the staff did their utmost to meet her needs. Very caring staff. [name removed] was exceptionally helpful!

The overall idea of the community, most people are friendly, the whole dining room dinner reservation thing is weird to me and many others, very poor communication between administrators, nursing , PT department & aides that assist my husband. So yes improve communication and be available , are there care plans that each aide can follow to keep things consistent with each individual?

A 4 will be my max rating as Robbins Brook is a first. NA is for insufficient experience. The food looks good but haven't sampled. My wife is not a regular participant of the activities. What we like the most about the community is the convenience to home and friendliness of staff. However, they need to track clothing better

My only comment and my only reason why I don't give it a five is because you do ask for things to be done and they don't get done. Like maintenance things is what I'm referring to. I would recommend it to others for sure my father loves it. My father really does love the place and we looked for a year and a half. So we put a lot of time and effort into finding a place that he felt was comfortable and also we talked to people who lived there and we did not hear one negative comment from anybody. And that really made a big difference in my father's decision also. Knowing that other people had struggled with the decision, like he was, and how much they felt it improved their life.

Academy Point is the perfect place for our 95yo mom. She enjoys the activities provided, socializing at meal times and having visitors. The staff is very friendly and everyone knows her name. They check in on her several times a day. Her 1BR unit is a little small but she has gotten used to it. We are happy with our choice.

Overall a good experience. Yes I would recommend them

My family member did not get along with one patient. He was young, car accident victim. They would read each other.[name removed] was forced to hire an aid 12 hours a day, private pay, to stay at the facility. Therapy private aid did most of the work for [name removed] Showed, cleaning, washing clothes, etc. he went through his money pretty fast. Some of the aids would not go out of their way to help. RE: if the aid was watching the patients, she would sit and watch. She would not get up from her chair to unlock the door to the laundry room behind her. My family member had dementia behaviors. I feel he should have received meds to help him.

Good care for residents

We had a very good experience given the circumstances of my Mom's stay which lasted eight months. Yes we would recommend

Overall it was a good place and the staff was very good and caring. The place was very clean. At the beginning, my mother fell out of bed almost every night and it took them awhile to find a good solution. Quite often we would find her in the public spaces asleep in her wheelchair and there was no supervision. It was very expensive and perhaps I expected too much.

Overall experience for my Dad (who is in the memory care wing is very good). All staff are very friendly and helpful in addressing issues that come up. The facility has activities throughout the day for residents to keep them engaged, such as drawing and word games. There is a snack time at 3:00 p.m., there are movies to watch in the afternoon and evenings. During the fall/spring seasons, there are trips to local museums. Last year during the summer, my Dad attended a baseball game at the College of the Holy Cross. Hourly checks are conducted while residents are sleeping. The facility is kept very clean. Dining rooms are nice. My Dad likes the food that is offered. There is a salon on the premises. Additionally, you can sign up for on the premises medical, dental and podiatric services. I have done this for my Dad and am very satisfied.

Administrative and office staff do not always communicate to the people providing care in the Memory Unit. Yes, we would recommend Benchmark at South Farms to other families based on the experience so far.

Basically very good staff, building, and programming. Cost is high, but not higher than other of the better places. Occasionally there are glitches in communication, but overall I'm happy with our decision.
