Some staff people are better than others. The activities are pretty routine week after week - not a lot of variety.

What we like the most about this community is that the staff are very responsive and show a true commitment to the residents. Yes, we would recommend Benchmark at Alexandria to other families ,and I have and their family member is there now.

Having lived here for almost one month, I am still adjusting. I am independent with a claim filed for assisted living with long-term care insurance. At 76, I am one of the youngest here and I feel young! My issues are a bad back etc. While some have memory issues, I have all faculties and many interests plus a sense of humor which comes in handy at times. By attending a book group and social activities, I am finding people with sharp minds and varied interests. I make use of the gym area and walk outside, and I enjoy the pool table outside my room and the piano in the lobby, although it needs tuning. I also drive so I continue friendships outside of Capitol Ridge. I could not afford to live here if my insurance is not accepted.

The meals and dining overall is a 4, but sometimes it can be a 3. The staff is very kind and helpful. The food is not always good. Yes, we would recommend the Benchmark at Bedford community to other families.

A friendly environment with great support for family members and residents.

Very welcoming. Big focus on socialization which is fabulous for the residents. Staff is great and mostly accommodating. Management level is very competent and listens to concerns and works with the family well. Highly recommend.

I would give split rock a four and that's just because of my logistical experience the place itself seemed lovely. a very nice facility however, last minute they explained that their assessment of my father was greater than what our expectations were, and he would need to go into memory care, which they did not have a bed . Which was problematic since we had already signed papers and a lease so they went to transferring us to their Sister facility where my father is now, so it was rather serendipitous, but the experience was kind of awkward

We chose Village at Buckland Court because of the facility price and the cleanliness. It was also peaceful and quiet. They also have a lot of great activities- although my dad did not participate in any of them. The facility and staff are very friendly and easy to get in touch with if you have any questions or concerns.

I would recommend. We were attracted to them because of the location; facility is bright; staff seemed very caring.

The size of the facility is small and compact making it easy for residents to get around.Great outdoor space for residents to relax and chat with others.

Our Mom has been at this community for [2] months, and the initial assessment is positive. Staff is proactive & leadership is receptive to our needs & concerns. To be continued as conditions change. Happy overall that our Mom is safe & healthy.

Staff is friendly and responsive. It’s small enough that they know the residents well and clearly care about them. Good range of activities, from games and movies to art, music, and lectures. Food quality is so-so. Poor temperature control in central areas

Fairly dated interior- I understand they will be renovated soon. Very convenient location. Very efficient interviewing process. Very little nursing supervision. Friendly staff. Cost for one month of respite care was prohibitive

It was a little more pricey than other places, but I would recommend. The staff is amazing. They accepted her quickly. She was hospitalized for a long time priori. It was also very nice and they people were great.

As [name removed] got sicker, they were unable to handle her and I had to move her to another facility. A couple of additional comments: it was difficult to talk to people because they all seemed so busy and overwhelmed. When I got someone's attention, they said they weren't busy and we could talk, but it always felt rushed and incomplete. Possibly trivial, but it bothered my wife (and me): I was there between 6 PM and 8 PM. The aids would communicate with each other from one end of a hallway to another by yelling at each other. Their voices were very loud. It was disturbing.

I would recommend. Mother has accepted and appears happy and content. We were attracted by the location. 12 minutes from my home.

Mindset is important and I can't predict that. So be open minded and pay attention to the presentation. I left in [date removed] when [name removed] moved to the Alzheimer's ward. She died [date removed]. They were working on improving several services including food at that time. I have had no contact since then. It is a pleasant setting with caring staff . With a real effort to make it a good experience for the residents. Definitely a nice place.

Caring and responsive care givers. Great communication with family members. Excellent variety of activities. Responsive to family feedback. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families.

The staff at Benchmark Senior Living is excellent - when you send them an email, they respond. It is a very friendly and clean place.

The staff at Benchmark were remarkable- everyone from the front desk, to the caretakers, to the cleaning staff, to the cafeteria staff and management. They are personable and all treated my father with respect and dignity. The administration staff, however, were terrible. Outstanding Care, but incompetent management. Requires family members to be highly involved to assure critical errors are avoided.
