It was a horrible experience. They rushed to get money and documents signed and when I followed up for move in confirmation it took a week to respond and they decided they would not accept the patient AFTER taking the money. Communication from them during that was nearly impossible despite me calling, texting, emailing.

Poor experience. Do not promote this facility. They can be honest and explain what the social model is before you sign the contract. They assessed my mother while she was in a rehab, agreed to take her. After she moved in, they repeatedly sent her to the hospital. We followed the suggestion to send her to [name removed] and have her medication assessed. After 3 weeks, the social worker made several calls for Atria to assess her. They never came, abandoned her. We had to scramble to find her a new home. We paid for 2 months and she lived there for 2 -3 weeks. Scam.

The director does not know anything about how to deal with people who have Dementia. She runs it like a prison and the residents get scared and agitated and harassed. We were forced to move my mom because of the lack of knowledge and compassion of that center. It's toxic and the director is a narcissist, rude and completely uncaring person to residents and family members. Do your homework and stay away from this horrible facility.

I can't give a positive review on Atria on River Road because of my bad experience there. I wouldn't even give Atria a rating of 1! I see now I was an easy target, a shut-in with no family or friends. At that time I tried to see something good in every person. Anyhoo, the Atria assistant director, a sweet lady, honestly didn't see anything wrong on her watch, but I saw a lot. I had to be a near victim myself before I woke up and smelled the coffee. I'm sure I left skid marks. You can post my entire review as a warning if it saves one person from a bad experience.

Moving my father to Atria Cutter Mill in [date removed] was a disaster. Upon arrival, no medical staff examined him for a week despite promises, leading to hospital transports. The promised two-week chaperone never appeared, and he wandered halls for two hours his first night trying to find his room. His apartment was filthy: false nails on floors, weeks-old trash, bathroom never cleaned. Maintenance admitted it was dirty then hung up on me. A delivered coffee table sat unassembled for two months. Beyond the monthly fees, I was forced to pay for 24 hour mandatory private aides - due to a disassociative episode, which was non-negotiable even when he improved. Staff rarely returned calls and stopped communicating once they mandated memory care (which he didn't need). Laundry wasn't done. Care assessments were quarterly, not "as needed" as advertised. Atria failed to provide basic services while demanding excessive payments. Avoid this facility.

We decided move my mom to Atria, however my mom did not want to move. Also she was not doing well physically and ended up in skilled nursing. We called and let Atria of the situation and requested a refund. But they refused to refund our first month, community fee, and last month. Insisting that because we moved a few items into the completely empty shared room. Within a couple of days we removed the few items from the empty room! My mom never moved into their facility! Throughout this process the staff were rude (often waited on hold on the phone for long stretches, not returning my calls etc...) and extremely unprofessional! They insisted that they were not going to refund any part of the money. In the end they refunded a portion of the last month's rent which took 4 months for us to receive. Overall I would never recommend this facility to anyone's love one.

My husband was there for respite car for 30 days. The staff was not trained well for his needs. They dropped him 3 times because they wouldn't listen to him. They didn't have enough staff. He was supposed to be showered once a week which he wasn't. He is in a wheelchair and cannot walk. They charged us extra to bring food to his room. The bistro was supposed to be open later so he could get a snack after his dr appointment's because he missed breakfast because they didn't get him up in-time for breakfast.

The staff often seemed unhappy and at times unpleasant. Activities were mostly geared toward residents with the lowest abilities, leaving little variety. The rent was raised shortly after moving in, and when asked for clarification, the response felt dishonest and unhelpful. Attempts to reach someone at corporate went nowhere. When she decided to leave, no one acknowledged her departure.

It's a zero - it was a horrible experience. We signed the contract and moved my mother's belongs into her room, then the nurse came to my house to evaluate my mom, a whole 10 minutes I received a message from the nurse stating my mom was a level 4 and there would be additional costs ($[removed]+) and someone would be in contact with me. No one called yet [date removed] I received another contract additional costs, I texted, emailed and left several messages for an explanation with no callback, so I sent one last email to call me of we would be removing my mother's belongs no one bothered to contact me so we removed her belongs and I asked for a refund [date removed] the sales director, [name removed] called me and we talked and could not believe the evaluation or that no one contacted me but would help with the refund If this is how they treat someone then its all about the money and not the proper care, horrible experience for anyone to go through during a transition process that is already difficult

I recently visited my dear friend and from what she has told me about this facility and the pictures that she has shared with me, I am absolutely disgusted. Her sinuses were been acting up and she did a little bit of investigating to find out why her sinuses were acting up. She checked her furnace too since she saw that other residents had dirty filters from over two years ago, from some of the employees finally changing out a few filters. She was able to get a few other photos from other residents. Besides the filters being as bad as they are I also noticed the floors in the main dining room be severely scratched and poorly maintained. She told me that a friend of hers that lives within the facility was having issues with her outlet always causing the breaker to trip every morning. She tried to get it fixed multiple times by the maintenance department and requested that electrician came out to check on it by the maintenance manager, whose name is [name removed], told

Staff was not attentive to our mother. She had multiple hospital visits while there. They didn't follow protocol.

The experience at atria Hacienda was not good. They Told me he needed to be in memory care which he did not. After eight days he left and they demanded another months payment which I am not paying. The whole experience was terrible. Trying to get someone to talk to me was impossible they would make you wait forever. They always said someone would get back to me and talk to me about the situation and they never did. It was an expensive ordeal with having movers move in furniture, and then having to move it all out the day after he left. It was not good.

If your loved one's illness progresses, or becomes "unmanageable", you are on your own. Atria can and will require you to hire 1:1 caregivers from an outside agency, despite your loved one's being on their highest level of care. This actually translated to them not care for my sister at all, it was left to the hired caregiver and the cost was not sustainable. The care plan by the LVN is intentionally vague, so you cannot possibly make a case that the resident isn't getting the care you are paying for. For reference, my family is in health care. We asked the hard questions about different scenarios, medication changes, progression of illness, etc. and were assured that all levels of dementia could be handled. This certainly was not the case! There was such a lack of transparency from the sale pitch to the director. We tried to communicate openly and frequently during her stay, to address the issues that came up but were made to feel like a problem and burden. The actual facility is very nice, clean, good food, with top notch activity programs. But if your loved one has the slightest behavioral problems that medications don't work for you'll need to find a new placement asap.

My father was at Atria for 1 week. He was treated like a prisoner instead of them helping him get acclimated. Staff did not have any knowledge of how to help or deal with early dementia. It made his depression worse as he had not one person who actually helped acclimate him.

I am sorry to give Atria park this score. They are expensive and need more TRAINED staff to watch dementia patients both am and PM. My wife, [name removed], who has dementia, stayed at Atria Park of Lafayette (1545 Pleasant Hill Rd, Lafayette, CA 94549). Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing, and I would rate them an F. During her time there, Susan fell 12 times, resulting in several hospital visits. Atria Park required me to hire Bay Area Home Companions to watch her overnight (7pm to 7am) at an extra cost of $[removed] per month—an expense I simply could not afford. After two weeks, I discontinued this service and instead paid Atria Park an additional $[removed] per month for increased supervision. However, this only resulted in staff checking on her once per hour. Staffing was inadequate, with only two people on duty at night to watch over 20 residents in the memory care unit. This level of care was unacceptable, so we moved [name removed] to another facility. I had made it clear that [name removed] had dementia and required specialized memory care. Sadly, I also witnessed another memory care resident fall, suffer a broken hip, undergo surgery, and then pass away after returning to Atria Park. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Atria Park of Lafayette for memory care.

They give misinformation and don't have transport for doctor appointments as they stated. They call to complain about something but wait till 11 pm so that I get woken up. When the incident happened early in the day. You can't wait till 8 or 9 the next day? Food not the best. They charge extra for eating in your room. Even though she ate very, very little. Rushed her even though we paid for extra time. Very disappointing

They are understaffed and then force you to hire one-to-one care to the tune of [price removed] a month on top of their monthly fees. My mom's teeth were not being cleaned we found the toothpaste covered in scum from under the sink. Her clothes were dirty and they lost three pairs of eyeglasses. And they never encouraged her to go to activities they just let her sit in front of the TV all day long.

Coterie gets a zero. I felt scammed. Had me put down a deposit when determined there wasn't room in memory care. They wouldn't give the deposit back as promised then finally gave me all but $[fee removed] back the charged me $[fee removed]a month as if my aunt was there!!! I have not nor will I pay them anything but they handled it poorly .

For the most part they are very friendly but also very much the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. They make arbitrary decisions that benefit the shareholders, not the residents

I signed paperwork to move in but decided to go elsewhere. They did not refund any of my $[removed]. So I have nothing good to say about them. Atria's salesman had only been there a few months and left about a month later. He told us things that we could bring in assisted living that was not true. Staff turns over frequently. Only believe half of what salesperson says. Ask someone who lives there without the salesperson about facility.
