The community has its positives and negatives, but in general the rent is really high for the overall experience (and seems to increase double digits every year). However, this last year the rate increased double over previous years. Talking to management does not help. Feel disrespected and taken advantage of. Once you move in somewhere it is difficult to move for older people. Shop around and try to get in writing the percentage of rent increase per year.

The worst they will tell you how they will bring you to Dr appt.'s but don't tell you only 10 mile radius and that they can only take you 2 days a week. The food is the worst. My family member has been living there for 2 months and still hasn't been able to get any physical therapy. They will tell you that they will do a lot of things for you which they will for an additional charge. Please do not put you family member here because it is the worst!

The food was good. My loved one's PT, was inadequate and they charged Medicare thousands of dolllars. My love one was not happy there. It was very expensive. My loved one's room was far from the common areas and dining room. There were many financial extras. It was a temporary situation that couldn't have ended soon enough.

The facility is nice and the clinical staff are quite friendly and helpful. The problem is if you need to reach anyone in the administration forget it. They don't respond to calls or emails, they don't make repairs in the room, they raise the rates without telling you and then threaten to have you thrown out because you didn't know about the raise! All that for 14K a month for a studio apt!

As far as like the community itself is very clean, but we have had a few issues with management and at times the staff members don't really seem motived to solving problems.

I would advise looking elsewhere first. If your loved one is in an early stage of dementia, I think maybe they would thrive here. But for later stages of dementia, I think there are better options in the area. I think they're understaffed, and that negatively affected my loved one's health. I also think they need to better assess their patients' needs based on daily/weekly analysis, and not just based on their initial assessment. I think they need to take better care of their patients, especially ones that are returning from hospital stays. Those patients should be their main focus, and in our experience, that was not the case. Also, communication from the memory care director was not what we expected it to be. The woman in marking and admissions was wonderful. But the woman who was the director of memory care only gave us a response maybe 50% of the time.

I do not recommend this community. It's not worth the price. Employees do not seem happy, and residents do not seem satisfied. There seemed to be drama and a disconnect each time I came to the community.

All in all my experience was good until I paid the deposit and received the keys for my mom's unit. 3 days prior to move in the facility changed their mind and no longer welcomed my mother to their facility due to incorrect old info provided by a physician. Instead of talking with us or my mother to do their own assessment they disinvited her and left us scrambling. Then it took me multiple calls to receive my refund. I understand certain circumstances or facilities may not be suitable for all individuals but during an incredibly difficult time and decision making process they could have been more understanding and handled things better.

The top staff needs to improve. I would not recommend this community to other famlies.

I would share with others that Atria El Camino Gardens is a nice place, but the staff isn't very attentive. The staff there don't know how to get back with people if they call with an issue. I've had to call the building director four times for her to call back. Same with the nurse, who never called me back. I've left message after message and there's nothing in return. They are terrible when it comes to getting back to someone. If you have a concern and have left messages, they wont get back to you.

I would not recommend this community to anybody, they need to work on improving the price to get in here.

We did not have a good experience at Atria Marland Place. They didn’t provide good quality care. There was not a good staff-to-resident ratio. It was difficult trying to get them on the phone. Even when I went in person, I couldn’t get to someone to talk to regarding issues. So 90% of the time I had to go through emails. Cleanliness wasn’t great either.

Not enough help-aides or dining room. Terrible Food- Very Expensive- No follow Up communication -with management Poorly designed rooms-chopped up.

The facility is beautiful and they have a wonderful activities director who tries to engage the residents. The staff and the management have been awesome, I am really thankful for what they do. Bridget who runs the floor has been super helpful as well and really tries to do what is best for my mom. The thing that kills me is the business practice, we kind of got trapped. If you have to have a 24 hour aid, it triples the cost per month so I have to be here with here a lot because we cannot afford that. I would tell others to make sure your loved one will not require care beyond what they can offer because they may very well put you on that 24 hour aid which is extremely expensive.

We started out on a bad foot. I went in for a tour and without even seeing my loved one or meeting him they told me that my loved one needed memory care and that is not what we needed. They said if we put my loved one in memory care we would get the best care and sold me on something we did not need. My loved one was stuck there and was angry because they did not fit in there and there is no one to really socialize with. They did not work with me at all and were accommodating. All of the care staff could not have been nicer, they were all sweet and wonderful. We went and ate in the assisted living dining room and it was a great experience. We went a second time and the sales person who sold us on memory care told us it was not our dining room and was saying this stuff in front of everyone and kicked us out. It was very embarrassing.

My loved one did not have a good experience at this community. She felt like there was not enough attention to the covid restrictions and they recently just had a break out of a few cases. Prior to the outbreak I noticed that none of the staff were wearing mask and I reached out to the director and she stated that they were following guidelines. However, with the at risk people in the community I don't understand the risk and I felt they should still be in mask. One of the workers did not know about the outbreak and we were amazed they did not communicate this with her, we felt like no one was in control. This was just a serious problem for us. This community was friendly and clean it was mainly the covid situation

Right before my mother moved in they had a covid breakdown. I could not get anyone to return my phone calls and I could not check my mother in due to the covid issues. I decided to not put my loved one in right now I lost my deposit on the room and they kept billing me. They hit my mothers account for the amount and I am still waiting for a return call for this to be figured out. The rooms are nice and the building is nice. There is not really any outdoor space besides a terrace.

When we were touring they had a really good director who has since left. The facility itself is very old and when we went up to the memory care unit, all of the rooms looked out to the tops of buildings. It was not a place I wanted to put my mom.

Atria Grapevine can work to improve the overall cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff members.

Recreating RN Ex Director lack of communication!! Staff does not return calls. July 2021 move in asked for locked rent for one year refused. As of Jan 1 2022 rent increase 13%. Exorbitant!!
