Atria

It was a family owned business and they sold it to atria recently so I don't know yet how that will work out. All I've seen so far is that they aren't going to have independent living anymore and my mom was in a transitional stage and she was moving to independent living, which they aren't offering as many of anymore. The staff has been wonderful, I think their care is excellent and we haven't really had any problems. They've been good mostly about everything, they know everybody's names and they helped my mom a lot. The did have a problem with their ambassador program, they said they were going to assign her to an ambassador and they never really did. The activities seemed really good, sometimes they cancled them and a thing my mom has complained about it that there aren't any acivities going on after 6 but with the transition going on that isn't at the top of our list.

This was my second choice. The only reason I didn't go with Grand Oaks is because there were only five residents in their memory care and the were all so far gone that they were basically asleep in wheelchairs, drooling all over themselves the whole time. My mom has Alzheimers but she is only 68 and I thought she would better time with a larger group of people - that there would be an age range and more activity.

Like the layout

She had her own apartment, everything was decorated and they had a lot of activities. When we went out and searched on our own, we found that assisted living places were very very depressing and just not a good choice. This was expensive but so different from what we thought. Right when you walked in it was very very pretty, they decorated for every holiday, once a month they had a birthday celebration; it took the stress of her havingt o make her own meals away. They weren't monitoring how much she was eating and you either had to get up and get your meals or paid extra to have them delivered; she was eating the same thing as everyone else and no one really paid attention. This was nice though, it was a wonderful, beautiful place, like you were going to a casino in Vegas. it was fine until she fell and then we had to pay more and go up to the next level of care but they were all very nice and very helpful.

We liked it but it was very expensive. It looked really nice but it didn't have the atmosphere that we were looking for - small and homey.

We had a real hard time getting her meds straight and she's giving herself her own meds now but they could not get her meds right. I had written everything down and everyone had a copy of it and they still couldn't get it right. Thankfully shes cognizant so she's aware of when things aren't right but what about people that aren't? We were paying extra for it and it was not very smooth on that end, they did try and we finalyl have things squared away. I had hoped that there would be more trips away and that was the impression that I got on the tour. There are things they do there at the facility but I wish there were more things that they went out and did besides trips to Walmart. It took awhile to get her squared away and the initial orientation didn't go as [removed] she was really lost and an ambassador came by her table that first week saying he would wait for her to get acclimated and he never came back. Its smoother now but the first month and a half/six weeks were rough.

it was a lovely facility, they are going through some heavy indoor reconstruction...so it is a little upside down in there, but they are saying it should all be done by october. There was a little bit of pressure to get my Father in law NOW before the rates go up after the upgrades finish...but ultimately it was too far in Thousand Oaks and he prefers to stay in Vegas.

When I initially started working with my advisor, Shirley, and she set up the initial visit (fall of last year), I met with a gentleman at the time and he followed up with us for several months. When the time came for my father to move in, there was a different person in his position but both were great. There have been a lot of administration changes recently but things have still been fine. Currently my dad doesn't need a lot of care, but what he has been getting is fine and there is a nice variety of activities. I have only had one item of concern that I brought to the attention of one of the administrators and she addressed both my initial concern and my follow-up question right away. I wish there hadn't been a concern but the way she handled it was great!

The Atria Hacienda was number 1 on our list. My parents moved in last Sunday and their boxes are arriving today! My parents are very happy with the choice, my dad raves about the food and about meeting nice people. I've been to Atria Hacienda a couple of times getting my parents' rooms set-up and the staff were very hospitable to us - they found us accommodations and extended us every courtesy.

Sunrise was a little too pricey for us and our budget. However they are a wonderful community with lots to offer. The community is very pretty and really very nice. When we walked in the front door we fell in love with the place. The base price for level 3 care is $6,000 which includes the rent and certain care services but would still have to add additional services for our loved one and that was just not within our budget. I would loved to have moved our loved one here but it just wasn't financial available for us.

Met with Susan Hickey on 7/24. This place seems ok if we need to bring Mom up and we don't have a better option. But lack of attractive grounds seems like it will be a drawback for Mom, and Mom will probably prefer a younger, healthier demographic.

I was impressed by the facility and the staff as well as the studio rooms. The price was definately higher than others I had looked at which might have explained why they were running a special rate reduction through the end of the month. Overall a good rating.

My mother did a respite stay here for a couple of weeks. It's expensive, very expensive. It seemed quite a bit higher than some of the other places that I've checked. It seemed good but since my mother wasn't there for very long, I can't really comment on the care services or the activities. The only think I'm a little unhappy with is that I'm having a problem with the bill. Erika, the director, gave us a discount on the respite, but the girl that is billing us is now charging us for the difference. That end of it hasn't been the best but I'm sure it will be straightened out and that issue is really just with one employee.

The facility was clean and nicely decorated. The dining options will likely meet M's diabetic needs. Mr. Rogers explained the facility's services very well.

We're pretty satisfied. The apartment that my mom moved into, there were things that needed attention that didn't get attention, but the rest of the community is very clean. They're very quick to respond if there is anything wrong or something needs to be fixed. My mom is very satisfied with their meals as far as I know. I think it's too soon for me to comment on their care services or activities becuase my mom has only been there two weeks and hasn't had a change to take advantage of those yet. I can't really think of any negatives. So far, so good!

Even though the property itself is somewhat dated, it is well maintained. My mother and our family were very impressed with the friendly and cheerful staff. From the moment we walked in everyone was very helpful and friendly. My mother has lived there for about one month and is very happy. The food is restaurant style, very well prepared and plentiful. She has met many new friends and is very happy with her decision to move to Atria at Chandler

Beautiful, but very expensive. I hate the feeling that you are buying a car so the price is negotiable, and price can increase at any time and any amount depending on what 'corporate' wants to do to appease its shareholders. Deanna was lovely, but meeting with Josh really showed me that this is probably not the community for us.

Atria was a very nice community with really friendly staff, but it was just too big for what we were looking for. The community is very clean and well maintained. The staff is really nice and try to be helpful. The only problem with had with this community is that is was just too big for our liking.

We chose Atria because they offer a low income program that would keep the cost down without sacrificing services. We had a meal with our loved one and the food is very good I would rate it a 5. (Currently unable to rate value and activities due to not having the full grasp of it yet)

Very nice facility... great senior living and assisted living apts, but assisted living is a bit expensive. Independent apts with contracted care is a reasonable cost but no apartments available for a while.
