My mom was accepted with open arms by the nurse who came to our house to assess, But it turns out she was a serious fall risk. They just call the EMT's every time someone is in the floor. My mom got sent to the ER four times in the span of a few months. Three of the trips were pretty obviously unnecessary. By the late spring we were told we would have to pay for around the clock supervision, or be there ourselves, whatever combination we could arrange for A completely untenable situation for us financially, And by that point she had acquired a "record", so to speak, so that it was very challenging to place her anywhere else. The upshot is that I feel strongly I was not warned about what might happen when she was admitted. In fact, she got sent out the very first night she was there! My wife and I asked if we needed to reconsider and we were assured that things would settle down. And then in a couple of months came the demand for 24 hour aid. Now, I know of at least one facility (where my father eventually went) that has nursing on staff 24 hours and can assess on the spot, thereby avoiding unnecessary trips to the ER. Atria was a disaster on that score. I believe the saying is, "On the floor out the door". They seemed happy to fill the bed, and did not really go out of their way to explain what might be the consequence . I would also like to add the activity director was wonderful and there were some very lovely staff who clearly care for the residents.

They don't have any activity directors for Sunday and Monday for the last 234 weeks. My mother is stuck on the floor with a bunch of people that are way more demented than she is and is going crazy! She is not happy there.

My mother in law was at this facility. It is beautiful. The staff is wonderful. They are very friendly. There should be more aids for the cost. Too many aids are shared. There is long wait for assistance to the bathroom. There are not enough activities to stimulate a person who can walk or stand. I noticed many more are in wheel chairs from the last time we visited to the time she lived there.

Atria is a great facility but the highlights of the day for the elderly is eating. Since my Mom got there they have changed chefs and she struggles to even find a meal she wants, ending up with a salad and a roll to hard to bite. Her favorite thing to do was cooking but she doesn’t have enough room in her one bedroom with kitchenette to do so. She loves the kind people and all of the help cleaning and such but her nourishment is lacking and she is bery frustrated about it on a daily basis.

Food not available in blended or as soft diet. Quality of food could be much better, but they are tied to some contract with all frozen foods. The activities would improve if spent more money to get some better entertainers. Large rooms, but few bathrooms have walk in showers.

The facility was fine except for the door upstairs that was supposed to be locked and was broken, but the bills were usually wrong and we were charged for everything for a month when my Dad was not there. I understand being charged for holding his room but not for distributing medication and meals. It took several months to get the little refund we finally received.

Atria is a beautiful facility with very positive and supportive workers. Events and activities are well planned. Overall, however, staffing levels are too low to support the ongoing needs of the facility and residents. There are times when staff in the dining hall are inundated and people can wait up to 25 minutes to be spoken to and have their order taken. Maintenance levels are so low and often unavailable. Cleaning services aren’t happening as often as described at time of contract signing. Based on the price, this shouldn’t be happening.

Dining tables are never wiped down. The food is bland and unseasoned. The menu said pot roast and mashed potatoes, received roasted pork and rice again. Unnutritious. The activities are perfect for a child but un-engaging for an adult.

I love it, because my sister loves it. But i feel that a lot of the wonderful, positive things we heard, during our tour, wasn't quite true. What matters the most, (to me) is that my sister is happy, so that makes me happy ??

The place itself was pretty, bright and airy. The supervisors were pleasant to deal with. The few issues I had was with meal times. I tried to speak to the chef because of my mother-in-law's special diet and she could not handle the spicy foods. Most of the time it went on deaf ears. The cleanliness of the room floor was not being kept up. I took the broom to sweep. My mother-in-law calling me a lot because nobody came to help her at times. When I was there, I found myself helping her roommate and other people in the hallway that were asking for help . Also, towards the end of my mother-in-law's life, which was declining fast, they did not allow a safety rail by the bed so she fell off to the floor and she passed away that night.

The experience at Holiday Maplewood Place was stressful and it seemed sales driven. There were mixed messages given and bait and switch tactics used. The memory care is insufficient and needs improvement. The staff is not understanding and their capability to care for patients with dementia is sorely lacking.

I would recommend Atria to others. However, this summer their entire HVAC system broke down and the residents had no A/C when temps reached over 100 degrees. This went on for 3 weeks until resolved. I went and purchased a portable A/C unit for my mother and my husband and I installed it so at least her room was cool. This was very disappointing.

Not geared for independent living. Most activities are at assisted living level. Many things that were promised never materialized. Cleaning not very thorough.elevators so dirty. Staff mostly friendly. Food is hit and miss. Menu not always available.

I would have rated all of them higher if you asked me six months ago, but there is new management and new kitchen staff and a shortage of workers. Things have been getting worse every month. My mother used to on the independent living side and it's almost like they don't think they have to help her even though she needs little things sometimes. The food was amazing when we moved in. Now it's served cold, the portion is half what they used to be and everything is very bland. so my mom makes up for it with dessert which is not good for her. She has gained 20 lbs. And they complain about the food constantly with the director and she does nothing. The facility is nice, very clean, no complaints except it's cold for elderly people. My mothers dresses for winter even when it's 110 degrees outside. The staff is very nice but there is not enough of them. The best part still is that she can keep her cats with her. That is the biggest plus living there. I would like to move her but she has friends and she can't handle change anymore so she doesn't want to leave

It is very expensive for what they offer. Mom is settled but has found it hard to make friends. Lots of staff turn over

Dinner was good (no provisions made for those not coming down regularly....occasionally check but only occasionally. All they did not provide the service we needed for a mildly demented lady. We are moving her to another situation. They offered more than they could provide in the way of service!

They have not been able to keep a chef(cook), now they have a chef who's food is too spicy for old folks. My mother's room is dirty, the dust in this part of the valley is bad, the windows are poor so the rooms get filthy. The director left for another Atria so it was a bit unmanaged for a few months. I'm there 2 to 3 time a week so I hear all this from my mother and her friends. I am considering moving here.

[name removed] is independent and doesn't require any "care" other than housekeeping. The food takes an extraordinary amount of time to receive and is mediocre at best. [name removed] does not participate. She finds the activities ridiculous and condescending. It is very expensive for what she is getting. Food is terrible. She wants to move out as soon as possible. She has also not liked how they just come into her room without her consent. She finds the place extremely depressing. My husband and I think it is a fine enough place. [name removed] is very cognitively intact and doesn't like being around other "decrepit " people (she perceives it this way) and she is not very social. She absolutely HATES it there.

Overall Atria was very nice but in my opinion they misrepresented the level of care they offered and were unable to support many of the medical needs due to having no on staff nurse. As a result my mom was sent to the ER for what seemed like everything and they were calling me every day. Eventually we transferred her to [community name removed] in Lafayette Hill where she was supported much more. No issues with medication or emergency room visits
