A lot of residents seem to have beginning signs of dementia. Staff very good. Food ok. I was not ready for this environment. I was in a studio with a shared kitchen. I never cooked. Perfect. I brought my 7 lb poodle and paid the [removed]. Pet fee.

not enough staff to the point where my mother in law had to wait to be taken to the bathroom. very limited activists compared from our visit and when she stayed the activities diminished tremendously

Yes I would recommend. Just didn't work for my mom. She is now living with me. They will raise rent annually for no apparent reason that is beneficial to the tenants.

The staff on the memory unit were poor except for [name removed] who was in charge. The rest seemed lazy and couldn't be bothered. Also they had no staff on the weekend for activities. My Mom and the others just sat there

Label everything, check the events and excursions. The memory unit needs more activities and residents need more stimulation. Make sure to be present for any cognitive tests. . Atria has a friendly staff and a nice location, but the memory unit residents need more activities to stimulate cognitive and physical needs

The staff doesn't know what they're doing, the left hand doesn't know the right hand, they tell you what they THINK you want to hear, then say sorry when asked about there mistake.

The introductory price was good, the increase was more than we could afford. [name removed], the leasing agent did all she could to help us, but didn't work out. Their facility needs a facelift. The scheduled activities are limited. A large portion of the residents are much older than we are. Bottom line, loved the residents, staff, but not the facilities.

I did have some concerns about the care initially. If I had not been going there, I'm not sure that they would have been as attentive. My mom's laundry was not done consistently. I had to remind them to do it a couple of times (I changed her sheets as well because of concerns that they weren't doing that either-the same sheets were on her bed that were there the week earlier and her laundry had not been done ) the laundry that was done was just thrown in her closet. They didn't hang things up, even though there was more than enough hangers to do so. Again, this was early on, but when I spoke up, it changed. I also had to ask that they wash her hair early on when assisting her with showers. Hospice had provided my mom with all in one cleanser, but they didn't read it to realize that it was shampoo even though I had told one of the aids that it was an all-in-one cleanser that could be used for her hair. I think that having a hospice nurse going there regularly was hugely beneficial as well. They advocated for my mom. I'm not sure if it was a staffing issue initially. Things improved over time. To the extent possible, I would recommend that they have have one or two designated aids assigned to a resident that way they get to know a person and can keep track of what's done and not done for that resident more effectively. They did do this for my mom in March and it made a difference. She began her residency at the beginning of February. The staff was very nice and it was a lovely facility. I don't think that if they didn't care with the exception of one, but I'm thinking it was more of a staffing/training issue.

Staff was sweet, kind, supportive and loving. However, Engaging, Creative, Inspiring activities, Cultural events and Social outings were poorly organized, sporadic at best and uninspiring. And ZERO mental health services! Incredibly overpriced for the services provided. But that's indicative of the industry. Social tragedy!

They have had changed some of their top people like director and head nurse and it is not as ?? is as it was with former. The lead med tech there is very good. She is caring and compassionate and takes my call even if she is not working. It is difficult to rate the care staff as it has changed a lot recently. They do seem a bit understaffed and have a difficult time holding on to caretakers since the director change. The front desk staff is always friendly and welcoming. The community is always clean inside and out. There is a wide variety of activities offered but I can not speak to them as my loved one does not participate. When I walk thru the building though, I do see the activities taking place and they always seem to have a good turn out and residents r having a lot of fun. The dining experience seems good. They always have a good and plentiful selection to choose from. Comparatively, they r priced very well and do not charge extra for every little thing as many other places do. Overall, my loved one is happy there and feels safe and taken care of.

Ask questions, consider that they raise the rates annually anywhere from 6 to 10%. We had a positive experience with Atria overall. We would recommend this community providing you can afford the rate increases and extra charged for additional help if needed.

They need to better explain their kosher food policies. No hot food on Saturday etc. Not equipped to handle seniors with disabilities. Will charge extra for any accommodations. Transportation to Dr appointments not consistent. Overall needs a lot of improvements

I haven't been there since December. There was very little staff there when I left. Just woman at front desk. Staff had been fired / new take over? No new replacements? No activity director or sales , or director Things were not well handled

The floor director for my sister is the best, extremely helpful & always available. His staff is good too. The environment is well maintained and there are good activities as well as good food.

Atria was nice and the food was good. We paid for extra care for my dad because he's unable to do a lot himself and he told us after his stay that they didn't even help him with showering or dressing or anything which we paid for . I was very surprised at that. They did help him with his medication but that was all they did and we paid $[removed] extra I believe for additional care.

It started out very good for my parents. They have excellent entertainment, food and social activities. food have wonderful activities they enjoyed. But my mom wanted to go home and my Dad supported her so eventually they tried to leave unsupervised, found in the parking lot and we had to provide 24 hour care until we could find another place. They called my Mom someone with high functioning dementia and their facility was not a good fit, even their memory care unit. They have more a social program. It was a very stressful time for all. We did find a Memory care home in Loomis that is meeting their needs.

Friendly, supportive staff and safe facility where sense of community is built. If you want to become involved, you easily can and be comfortable. If you need to become reliant on the food service program and you are used to your home cooked meals, you will be severely underwhelmed. Your costs will exceed the overall housing charges because you will go food shopping each week.

I don't have a lot of great things to say, sadly. We were promised so many things that never came to fruition and we paid our deposit, the fees, everything to be told my mom would have to stay in a temporary room (guest room) for a few days - it turned out to be two weeks. Then she got sick and had to be taken by ambulance - she never returned and nobody ever reached out to see how she was - they just called about money. I'm so disappointed in [name removed] - she lied to us more than once and never made anything right. The manager was above my mom and had her grandkids with her most days running back and forth across the floor...it was just terrible from the day we arrived

The sales directors, [name removed] and [name removed] . Very helpful. The major negative was the care of [name removed] and medical communication. Also, they don't have a notary

First I will say the respite care was good because we were in a desperate situation. We felt lucky to get dad into a care facility but we soon after realized he probably needed more care than they offered. They have a nurse who does intake but doesn’t really provide true nursing care. I felt they were always understaffed in the memory care unit but to be fair we mostly visited on weekends. [name removed] and her partner was wonderful to us and provided updates when we asked for them. She was so kind. As for the actual dementia care, I don’t that Atria is best suited for a true dementia patient. The patient has to be relatively healthy. They couldn't administer drugs and require the patient be able to access, dose and feed themself the med. My dad couldn’t navigate the code to open the required medication lock box if his life depended on it. Also room 401, often used for respite, and that entire side of the building got so hot. The AC never worked on that side. As mentioned earlier we were assuming that Dad would need a higher level of care at some point and we were told when we were going over the lease agreement they would let us know if that became an issue. They can terminate the lease with a 30 day notice. We trusted that was truthful but honestly they aren’t going to let a paying resident go if they can get away with it. We were informed by the visiting nurses and aides that Dad eventually needed more care and Atria said they disagreed. So here’s the issue, if the resident wants to terminate the lease they need 60 days notice. We moved Dad very quickly after a fall where they sent him to the ED and we realized they were never going to admit he needed more and they were just holding on to the paycheck. So even though we moved out 2 or 3 days into the first 60 days, we still paid full price for 2 months and lost the discounted rate because we were terminating the lease. I have no doubt they double-dipped on Dad’s room and got money from us and a new resident. I think specifically for the dementia care it's important for families to know exactly what to expect so maybe the title should be to have realistic expectations. It is a lot of money to not get the care your loved one deserves. We were in emergency mode searching for respite because mum was failing trying to care for him. You can add my name that's fine. They knew I wasn't happy so it won't be a surprise.
