Staff are kind and helpful if you are independent in all activities and daily living needs. Facility is lovely, downtown Philadelphia. Common areas are clean, beautiful. It is like living in a 6 story apartment complex. However This is not the place for anyone with memory deficits. If individual needs help with medications only, fine. Once confusion starts, and can not be independent with care and negotiating the facility, you are asked to leave or hire private aides to be with the resident as needed. This can be very costly, and more disruptive to the individual. If your loved one is beginning to experience memory problems, please find a residence that can deal with cognitive impairments leading to dementia. Transition is quicker than you will expect, and the moving in and out can be very stressful.

My mother-in-law seems happy here, now that she has made the adjustment and gotten settled in. It's a nice place, it looks and smells clean, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We've heard good things from her about the food, as well. This place came recommended to us by a family member, and so far they were right! We have had a few issues, and some billing mistakes that we got worked out eventually. This place is very expensive, and some of the extra services like helping point her in the right direction and getting her to activities, cost far more per month than the amount of work I imagine they require.

This is one of the locations we looked at when we were looking for options for my Dad. We were really doing our homework trying to find the absolute best place for him. This was a very nice place, it looked great and the staff were friendly, but it wasn't the perfect fit we were looking for. It was a little lacking in the community feel and social activities we were looking for. Very nice overall, though.

I don't live here myself, it is somewhere I helped my mother locate. When I have visited everything seems fine. It's clean, and the staff are friendly, and from what I've heard the food is fine. Mom seems to enjoy it. It's very expensive, but that seems to be how all of these places are.

I looked at this community while looking for options for my mother. Everything looked fine, however I ended up choosing another location that was more convenient, and provided similar quality for a better price.

Facility is beautiful, clean and bright. Jackie and her assistant were welcoming and knowledgeable. I met briefly with Suzanne the Life Guidance care manager, but did not get a chance to really talk with her. Jackie gave a tour of the Life Guidance facility and like with the AL side it is beautiful, clean and birght. Some of my impressions: 1. My first thought was the layout would confuse my Mom, though the facility is small enough that can probably be over come. 2. I like the smallness of the common room, they were comfortable in layout and not too large. While I was there a group of care givers and residents were making cupcakes. Though not all the residents were participating, I did not feel as if those that weren't were left out. 3. The patio and yard again like the common rooms was comfotable and big enough to hold a good range of activities. 4. The room, which is a semi-private room appeard small to hold for 2 beds (it is empty at this time). The bathroom is good size and being on the ground floor the one window in the room looks out on a nice patio/garden area. 5. I forgot to get information on the meal times, but all meals are prepared by the main kitchen and brought down to the Life Guidance facility. In addition both common areas have full kitchens which is nice to see. 6. I did not get a chance to talk with Warren the nurse, but all the residents appeard well taken care of. And there were wheelchairs parked against the walls while the residents were congregating on the chairs and couches in the common area. It was nice to see. 8. I also forgot to look at the shower facilities in Life Guidance, but if they are anything like the shower in the studio apartment that Jackie showed me, we're in good shape. 9. I also like the fact that the residents in Life Guidance can participate in some of the activities in AL. When I left the facility Jackie was going to try and get in touch with Warren, the nurse, so an accessment of my Mom could be scheduled. In addition she did provide me with all the paper work we need to complete, just in case. After sleeping on it, I like this facility very much.

They've been great. I think it's kind of like the extra charges come on easily. If there is anything that isn't great it's the beurocratic communication with the logistical stuff, but they have been great. My mother really likes it there. They offer a lot of activies. The care is excellent. The food is pretty good. They are trying hard on that. It's a real new york place it has a great new york feel. It's in a beautiful location right next to the river that gives it a lovely feel.

The location was very convenient for what we were needing, which was a big factor in why we chose it. Overall the staff and care services were good, the community could use some improvement in the quality/amount of the activities they provide. I am very familiar with the industry and pricing in the area, and this community is one of the more expensive ones.

They could use a little more staff, they took her to get a haircut and she was sitting outside the salon for like an hour before they knew she was there. They could check up on the people a little more, supply a few more people to spend time with the residents sometimes they are just sitting for hours. My aunt isn't crazy about the food they seem to have a nice selection but she has complained a little and they could give her a little more. I would give them 3 out of 5 on food.

VERY NICE BUT I THINK TOO PRICEY. NOT SURE MY AUNT WOULD BE UP FOR USING ALL THE PERKS.

I didn't visit this community personally, but I helped my sister and brother-in-law find it, and they seem to be doing very well there. All the staff I talked to during the process were very nice, and they did a good job of communicating with my brother-in-law, who was very reluctant to move it first. My sister has had very good things to say about the community in general. I was concerned when I was notified about extra charges on their bill the first month, but when I asked about them a nurse, and then the head of nursing got back to me very quickly to explain the extra care that was needed, and I really appreciated that quick communication.

This was our second choice when we were looking into options for Mom. It was a nice looking place, and the staff were very friendly. We ended up choosing another community, Mom likes to stay busy and the residents here didn't seem to be quite as active as Mom was hoping for. Still, a great looking place overall!

We toured this location when we were looking for somewhere for my Mom. It seemed like a nice, well-run facility, but it was just too big for us. I felt like Mom would be overwhelmed.

A lot of activities. Wow what a difference, they have a movie theatre and tons to do. This was more independent than what we needed but they had, more programs compared to where she was before.

Very, very good, clean, and friendly. We had to call a couple of times to get things settled but when something was addressed they straightened it out immediately. Location was a big factor when choosing. But I can't think of any thing they could do to improve.

I chose Atria for my 92 year old father after thoroughly reviewing four other assisted living facilities including Sunrise in Westfield, Sunrise in Mountainside, Brandywine in Watchung, and Winchester Gardens. All five seem to be nice facilities. I chose Atria because it edged out the others in cleanliness (including smell) and maintenance of the facility. It was significantly better than the others in terms of my perception of "engagement" of the staff. Everyone seemed to be very active. There always seems to be something happening and the environment seems to be very social. Atria has very large "public" rooms where lots elders can get together and watch television, play cards, play bingo, or be entertained by providers. All of these facilities are significantly more expensive than what my father is accustomed to paying in another state. For New Jersey, however, it is comparable to the other four.

First of all, the building, resident rooms and apartments, dining room, and other resident service rooms are all very nice. When touring resident facilities in the area for my father, I toured the memory care unit at Atria (Pathways) with the thought that one day my father may need it. It was bright and roomy, with a secure outside area for the residents. My impression of it was very positive. Right now my father has no need for special assisted living services even though his memory is declining. The staff, from resident care aides to administrative, is very friendly and many have been employed there since it opened 13 years ago. They seem eager to provide personal, attentive service. My father says "they have thought of everything." He has lived there now for a week. He especially enjoys the "Happy Hour" that is held every day. (Beer, wine, or soft drinks and snack).

My sister was here for a year and a half and she'll be moving back soon. She liked the activities here much better. It's a large building and basically it has better activities for my sister. Atria has made some improvements too. It used to only have two meals a day and now it has three. It's going to have Mass once a week where before they had to go out on the bus to go to Mass.

For this specific stage in my life , The Atria offers the ameneties I want and need, safety and fun activites. Overall the people are friendly with the exception of a few crazies. The activities dept and a couple of people from the waitstaff are really wonderful. I know that any time I see one of the ladies from the Activities dept that they would always put a smile on my face and make me laugh. I love Beading time and all the mind boosters that keep our minds sharp!
