Atria

Atria is wonderful. We like everything! The food, the décor, the help, everything is just wonderful and. and they like it too. It's great. It's worked out well.

It's absolutely beautiful. They just got done remodeling. They're redoing the dining room, there's new carpet and they just got done painting. Of course, it's expensive but for what I'm getting in return, I don't even have to worry about my father. The activities are great. My father exercises 6 days a week, only chair exercises but still, that's great! They have at least one special night once a month like casino night or a luau. I think they're very thorough. I visited at a minimum 5 places and when I pulled up and did the tour I knew this was the right place. It just great. They have formal dining at every meal and their food is absolutely wonderful. They rotate their menu every 4 weeks so it's not monotonous the residents. I adore the place.

I thought the staff was very helpful and very friendly, they always seem to be very upbeat, how they answer the phone and answer any of my questions or address any concerns I have; it seems like they really care about what they're doing. Even the people that live there are friendly, you walk in and they come up and say hi to you, it's a very welcoming atmosphere. My aunt knew one person who was here and they were very willing to accomodate her so she and her friend could sit together which helps to get her to get out of her room. The atmosphere of Atria is entirely different from any place she has been before and you don't get a feel for it until you talk to them on the phone and experience it. They're very helpful and they make the family feel comfortable as well as the person living there.

Great location, balconies, $2700 with a $2500 community fee - put down deposit for first floor room

Compared to some of the other places that we looked it, this was by far the best value. My dad is the one that's actually living there. I know there's all kinds of activities but he very rarely participates in them. We've been trying to encourage him but to date we haven't been successful. I know they go on trips to ball games, they do card games, exercise programs - several things. They put out a calendar each month with all the activities. There's a bunch of stuff for them to do. I think they've got a garden club. We just have to get my dad into him. He walks a lot. The best thing that I liked, but they've recently discontinued it is they had a guest apartment where family could come and stay. They recently rented that out but that would be awesome if they would bring that back. Otherwise the place is fantastic!

This place is beautiful. It has a lounge and a small movie theater. Several dining areas. Very nice. Well staffed!

My mom's doing great! She's better than I ever would have expected. The staff are always smiling. Everyone is so nice. The value is great. it's very reasonable for her level of care and that was good. I would say the care is good. sometimes they're a little short staffed and emergencies happen that can't be helped. The activities are great. Mom plays bingo and trivia and goes on outings. It's really done wonders for her! That was our first choice and we fell in love on the first tour.

It is a lovely place full of people who seem very old and handicapped. I am still very active and do not think I could be happy there.

We never had an official tour there but we walked around a little bit on our own. I was very impressive. Later we saw another Atria and the minute we walked in we could tell it was owned by the same people. It had that same feel. It was very elegant and nice.

You name it they've got it. They have crafts, bingo, movies, a swimming pool, a putting green, they go on trips. It's pretty well rounded. I'd like to live there to be honest. The food is excellent and the thing that we noticed when we went on the tour is they know the residents names and they say hi by name. The only issue we had was a miscommunication between the level of care and that was resolved with in a week. There's no medicine cabinet and no drawers in the bathroom that's just the one weird thing but the rest of the facility is fantastic, I think. The other nice thing about them is you can dine from 7:30 am to 7 or 8 at night. It's not a set meal time and they have something called The Grill and that's lunch and dinner with an established menu. They have a movie theater that they show movies twice a day everyday. They have a bar which is pretty nice. The biggest challenge is finding your way around but once you get your pattern established you're fine. It's very elegant.

The parking lot is pretty uneven. They have lovely trees and that's one of the reasons we love the place but it's a little hard for the elderly walking around on the uneven surface. One of the really great things that we love about is the wonderful staff and that the management feels open to come in and talk to them anytime. I think that carries through into the enjoyment of the residents. It feels like a happy place and a positive environment. People are happy and friendly and I'd say that was probably the number one thing that makes it a great place. My dad enjoys the men's related activities. They have men's club, men's brew club, and poker - a lot of women do that too. He also likes the musical events there.

My daughter's father-in-law has been there over a year and we're so impressed with it. He's really really happy there.

My partner is in Atria and it's very very nice. I think it's a fair value and I highly recommend it. It's very clean, it's very bright, the staff is very nice, and the food is very good. It just seems like they're on their toes. It has a pleasant atmosphere. He was still on the waiting list at another place when we took him to Atria but I decided that Atria might be a little better because it was larger and the food tasted better more bright and cheery.

Very nice community of approx 90 residents - all the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Clean, & many fun activities offered, esp. onsite. Reaonably priced.

It seems like my mother-in-law has things to do everyday. She needed some special attention and I think they've really tried very hard to accommodate what she needed. I would have to say we've been very happy with them. The food is delicious. My mother-in-law can be very picky and she even said the food is delicious. She as happy as she could be and it's very close for us.

It was very clean and the people were very nice. My father-in-law likes it there. He seems happy with the activities. I like the idea of the ambassador for two weeks. The only problem is after two weeks they stop and my father-in-law missed a church service because no one came to get him. I don't know if anyone explained to him that it was only for two weeks or not. I think for people with a hard time hearing or seeing they could explain more. I haven't eaten there but my father-in-law loves it. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law went to the luau and said everything was great.

I haven't been there long enough to see the activities but the price is good and they keep the residents active. My mother has dementia but she seems happy. I believe they're doing the right thing.

It's very clean and they're very friendly. I think it's a good value. The care is good and they have lots of activities. They have bridge and movie night every night. They have bingo and brain activities for those with memory problems. They have aqua aerobics and those are just some of the activities. We're just real impressed with them.

I have to thank A Place for Mom for their help in connecting our family to Atria Aquidneck in Portsmouth, RI. We had been looking for a quality facility in a convenient location that was affordable for my mom given her limited income and assets. We could not have been more pleased with the result. Your representative was helpful and responsive and put us in contact with the right people at Atria Aquidneck. Everyone there was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. We were very fortunate to find this facility when we did for Mom given her mobility and memory loss issues, but she is now fully settled into her new home and readily adapting to her new environment. The transition was amazingly smooth and seamless thanks to all the folks at Atria who helped us in this process. The facility is first rate and Mom has already met many new friends at Atria. All of my siblings have echoed the thought that we hope that WE can be so lucky to find such a great place when our time comes!

The place was absolutely wonderful and when you reach a certain age you have to complain about something, she's jsut cranky but it happens to be very nice. She has a one bedroom and that happens to be very nice also. We tasted the food, my husband and I, and it was fabulous, but she complained about some thing... one of the fish plates she didn't like and maybe that just not their thing. She's a doer and she's been doing a lot of things and having a good time, I hope she's making some friends. The location is fabulous for us, it couldn't be closer, it was the cherry on top of the sundae. I felt like this was a better fit, plus the location and the food and the people, I remember when we sat down in the office, my daughter looked at me and said "this is it."
