Atria

When my brothers and I first brought my mother to the Atria it was a very difficult time. My father had just passed away (my mother was very dependent on him), and my mother was suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer's. The first thing you notice about The Atria is how nice and homey it feels. The people who run the facility and the people who work there have a goal of making it feel like "home". They clearly succeed in a very big way. It is safe to say that my family and I could never have gotten through these difficult times as comfortably as we did without the staff at The Atria. They do not appear as if this is work to them as much as it is a labor of love.

I have had my mom at Atria Marland 3.5 years and it's the very best with attentive staff, some minor turnover but always smooth, plus clean, good food plenty of customized activities and accomodations to everyones weaknesses (hearing, memory, eyes, mobility or whatever). It justifyably gets all the best ratings in the area from assisted living to personal memory care (Life Guidance).

Friendly staff, great ambiance and atmosphere. They really go out of their way to make residents feel welcomed and valued.

The value is always the debate. It is so hard to say, she is in the dementia unit. Generally speaking they do a pretty good job of dealing with that aspect of aging. The food is pretty good. She has her own apartment and there is a refrigerator, but she doesn't really use it. What I have observed is some group things where they play board games and craft activities or bounce a ball. They also go outside for lunch or movies.

$5950/month studio. Fancy. Incl. 3 meals, full housekeeping, transport to doctors, electricity, exc. cable and phone. First month 2x/rent. Med management additional fee. Private pay. Accept LTC or private pay, but not Medicaid.

It was quite a bit more expensive than the community that we ended up choosing, and we didn't want to pay that much. It was nice though, like a five star hotel!

I have an in-law that is currently a resident at Atria West 86. She is extremely satisfied with her stay at the building. She constantly raves about the wonderful activities and events that the building staff organizes. The building is extraordinarily nice and clean, and is at an incredible, central location of the city. Food isn't bad either!

While I was on the premises I got to witness some terrific activities. They were creative, inventive and extremely welcoming. It seemed they had programming geared to many abilities and interests. The food smelled great too!!

The building is fantastic! Gorgeous location and friendly staff. The residents seem to be very enthusiastic and enjoy all the amenities available to them here. All the activities are great! Definitely would recommend

Found the facility to be better then expected. Felt it would be stimilating experience due to proximity to nyc cultural events and the activities offered. Staff was friendly and caring. Food in the grill was great.

Atria is wonderful. My mother lives there and she is just delighted - very happy! The people are warm and wonderful and the services are great. I can't say enough good things about them. We're very happy!

We think it's great! We're very happy with it. The staff is just fantastic. They stop and say hi to everyone. I've never heard a negative word from them. They are constantly interacting with the folks and are always available. Their communication is just fantastic and they were much more professional than any of the other places we saw. They have lots of activities. They go on bus trips, tours, casinos, shopping, etc. My mother is so much more active now that before. The medical care that they have there is great. They have physical therapists on staff. They took my mother with a hip problem from a wheelchair to being ambulatory with no assistance. They're doing a very good job of taking care of her. Everything that they do is amazing. All the specialists are within their transportation range so they'll take them to the doctor and that's included in the service. Plus a doctor that comes in to do GP stuff.

I moved in! I really liked it but i had an incident the night before last. I found someone trying to break into the neighbor's house. I was on my balcony and I was fine, but later I was worried. I am going to stay though because it is really, really nice. I love it here. I don't want to do any activities, but I walk with my dog several times a day and that's all I need. I have gotten much stronger since I got here. They give me transportation, they go somewhere everyday. We have a routine and every morning you have your whole day on a paper taped to your door, just like on a cruise.

My mother in law is thriving at this facility. She loves the activities, the staff, and the food. It is great to know she is safe, well cared for and happy.

My mom has been a resident here for 5 years. She has gone from lonely and introverted to outgoing and belly laughing. The staff is respectful and friendly. The activities are engaging and appropriate. The food is delicious. The common areas and apartments are very clean. It is not just a place to live, it is home.

I had the opportunity to visit this site on the charming upper west side of Manhattan. It is a beautiful facility, very nicely appointed and impeccably clean. They have an elegant library/sitting room, a café and a salon with a baby grand piano, befitting a New York establishment. But what was most impressive were the cultural [removed] a piano player playing old standards (with a sing-along), interesting current events presentation/discussion, and what looked like really creative art classes. All of these activities seemed very sophisticated and of a very high caliber. I wouldn't hesitate bringing my elderly relatives to Atria Wet 86.

Atria Palm Desert was recently bought out and completely redone. They redid the paint and carpets and really the entire facility. They did such a nice job. The rooms go from singles to two bedrooms. Staff is really accommodating. The residents all seem to really enjoy it. They have art classes, card games, and speakers. I've never had the food, but it looks great.

We're so pleased with Atria Great Neck. It's a wonderful place! It brought our relative back to where he was months ago. The care is wonderful. What I know is that he's being brought back to health. He's safe, he's fed well, his medication are being overseen and the people are wonderful.

They are extremely helpful, friendly, and make the community feel like home. My parents live here together. My mom is kind of shy, but they have started to draw out and do activities and she loves it. They put together dinners with other couples about once a month. They advertise that they have the highest percentage of couples, and they really do. I would recommend this for any couple looking for assisted living. My parents have a kitchenette in their room with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, sink. It was recently redone with granite counter top. Atria has a pool and barbecue outside, and a theater inside. My mother will eventually need more care, and Atria offers higher level of care on the same campus. It is not a locked down, but it is secure. They offer complementary transportation to doctor's visits and personal outings, such as going out to dinner.

We really liked this place, the food was absolutely delicious, it was wonderful. The think I didn't like about the place-one of the residents spoke to us about how much he and his wife liked it and how glad they were that they moved here, had my parents been in better health it would have been a good contender- but we just got so limited when we knew that we needed memory care. Regular care would not have been enough for my mother, especially with where she's at now.
