I would not put my [Removed] in this facility. Derogatory when speaking of memory care residents. Dreary. No safety features besides confinement to wing. No phones allowed for residents. The staff member was cleaning chairs with loud vacuums during meal time. I found it highly annoying and I don't have agitation issues. If I could give it negative stars, I would.

Buyer beware!!! Do not move your loved one into this facility. It looks nice but looks aren't everything. It's all staged. They don't care about providing quality care, all they want is your money, they've cut staff and continue to move people in. Constantly short staffed. They refuse to hire more help to take of residents, they would rather have short staff before paying overtime. They bring in inappropriate residents that require too much care while the residents that require minimal care get neglected. They have no standards, when it comes to the type of residents they accept. [Removed]. There's no stimulation in memory care. Cna's are left doing dishes and cleaning dining rooms all day instead of providing care. They ignore all complaints and suggestions. If you have any problems corporate will not care. They will sweep you under the rug. No one in corporate knows anything about this business other than the type of money they can collect. They have no idea the kind of things that happen in this building and for that they should be ashamed. They don't commuicate with anyone, they just make the decisions without considering the strain it puts on the entire facility. The only time they will lift a finger is if your check doesn't clear. They could care less about the facility, resident care, or employees. If you want to give your money away they will take it but don't expect anything in return. I would never recommend this facility to anyone and I feel sorry for the people there and everyone that endures the neglect from this company.

Place need updating up to down,very old, low food quality. People were nice. Higher then it competitors.

LifePointe Village at Southaven is a beautiful newer facility. My loved one had a large room including a kitchenette and living room. The community had high turnover and it reflected in the lack of care they provided. The staff would not ensure my loved one had eaten they would just assume that they were not hungry. Our loved one left the community a few times going completely unnoticed by the staff. Our loved one was found by a major road by a Good Samaritan.

Most recent reviewer has to be from within the company. One star reviewer prior to that is correct. Most recent Activities director stayed less than 2 months, the few activities posted on calendar for mid Dec through Jan. often not offered, including outings. Executive Director dodges families and answering direct questions, cancelled Jan families meeting, never in building on Sundays. Occupancy has dropped through Dec and January. Meals have been frequently late in Jan due to use of agency cooks when chef has days off. I am looking to move my family member. Good part- remaining residents are lovely people, newest head nurse is smart and honest, and price is lower than most facilities. But you get what you pay for and this is a revolving door in management and key positions. Low low energy,

I would not recommend this place after having my grandmother there. I found the office staff/administration to be rude and uncaring. Continuously raised rent, too. We have moved her to a more comfortable place.

This facility has been plagued by a revolving door with staff. The situation is getting worse with an Executive Director who seems to have no knowledge on how to hire qualified staff and who chases away valuable staff who were in place when she arrived. The head nurse has just left and agency staff are used who don't know the residents. Beware of what is told to perspective residents and families. What may be presented as life at Bickford is not true. There is a reason why the census is so low.

They didn’t clean her apartment. They were just awful. When she first got there the food was no better than dog food. It was mush. Finally they got another cook and the food improved. I do not recommend this community.

The people attitudes were negative, manager didn't acknowledge the employees while giving tour.

This facility looked like a scary movie. It was not clean at all and definitely needed updates. I did like the suite that they showed me, it was updated and residents have their own room but share a living space. It is a cheaper facility and it is small. The residents that we saw could not even communicate and my loved one is more with it. The outdoor area was so dirty, the patio had cigarette butts all over it from the staff smoking and there were weeds all over.

Mom was there for over a year in Memory side. When things became difficult for her due to dementia, they shipped to a psyche ward to get meds adjusted. Dementia care requires people trained to handle dementia behavior. They have none, despite the marketing and recruitment promises. Hourly care givers can be good or bad, but management did not care enough to do what was right. Found another place that is 10 times better.

Over promised. Under delivered. False advertising. Borderline neglect. The facility needs to earn the trust of residents and family. Three months after moving our mother into memory care the facility has yet to deliver on their lofty promises—or even the most basic service and care that is expected. When it sounds too good to be true...it is. Very disappointed.

please place your parent somewhere else. this place is crawling with bedbugs, and rude people with foreign heavy accents. My mom fell, I was on the phone with her. I hear the nurse tell the aides to put her back on the bed, she is not bleeding or bruised and she did not feel like completing the paperwork. When I called in and asked to speak with the head day nurse "She told me that if I say something and report it, that my mom would have to wear this ridiculous helmet on her head all day like this other lady who fell and busted her head open." The place isn't half full what does that tell you. Run the other way.........

The lack of adequately trained staff (caregivers) and leadership is very apparent here. Executive Director often misrepresents things and cannot maintain continuous staff; constant turnover. Search on....

Not A Good Place The situation is a nightmare right now. We are constantly cleaning my mother's room because the housekeeping is not being done at all. Unless we clean it then it constantly smells of urnine. We are having to change her bed linens every time we go and bring her laundry home to clean it. The last time that we brought her stuff home we discovered it wasn't even her stuff but yet it was in her room in the closet. We have complained to the administrator things seem to get better for a short while then they go back to being horrible again. The staff is nice but they need to be more attentive to the residents and they need more staffing

My father has live here for almost 2 years and it's been 2 years too long. I am actually moving him in with me and my two small kids because the care at this facility is that bad. He has had a roach problem the entire time and has even had them crawling on his arm. They spray his room but it doesn't take care of the problem. They are understaffed and cannot take care of all of there residents like they should because Brookdale is all about the money and not the quality of life these elderly people are getting. The staff has told me numerous times that they just can't do it all. I would never recommend this institution to anyone. I am in visiting him 3-5 times a week and it's this bad for him, I can't imagine how bad it is for the ones without their family showing up and complaining.

If you want the best care for your loved one with knowledgeable staff or knowledgeable management DO NOT bring them here. The turnover is horrific. Threw nurse manager is a rude uneducated unsympathetic person. Moving my liver one herewas worswomistake ever! !!! Families are constantly removing their loved ones for the above reasons. Beware

Right now I am not happy with them at all. My mother has been in there for two weeks. All I have received is empty promises and lies. I can't get my aging mother the help and medications that she needs. They just give me the run around. I am at my wits ends. I would not recommend them at this time.

Clearly, the Bickford organization does not live by its advertised values. Not surprisingly, the directors are inept and the personnel turnover makes a McDonald's restaurant look like a stable place. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Whoever wrote the 5 star review must be an employee trying to get ratings up. Many issues here, go elsewhere. The care by a very few long time CNA's and a good chef is not enough to fix constant turnover of leaders. Poorest of directors now in place, of several who had the job. RN just left ( among many RNs who left). Activities for residents are few and repeated, ask for "calendar". Stop by on a weekend, it's sad.
