Paid 2 weeks prior to moving my mom to SC to hold room, paid $ [removed] community fee, mom passed away 3 weeks after move in ( one week into first full month) so paid for remainder of month’s 3 weeks Wanted to ensure payment on time for first full month as automatic payment didn’t seem to be active so first full month payment was made twice Have been asking for refund for 7 weeks now and still no reimbursement In reality paid over $[removed]for three weeks of in-house care assisted by hospice but can’t be refunded the $[removed] double payment although have met with administrators three times over the past 7 weeks Clinical care- had to tell each aid care instructions as it appeared no one shared my concern or requests Found mom on her next to last day laying in her bed with diarrhea on sheets and when I asked for help to clean her found the sheet had been placed over another sheet that was dirty with diarrhea Thank god hospice came in and cleaned my mom so she could pass with dignity

The Goldton at St. Petersburg is 5* during the day. However, there is almost NO care after hours. Very disappointing after a great tour and meeting people. We moved Mother in on a Friday afternoon and barely saw a soul until Monday morning. Other facilities with that many residents and that quality of care have managers on call, maintenance on call, CNAs 24/7, activities on weekends, etc. I'm glad we met the people, but we had to take Mom to where there is more consistent staffing. With that caveat, I WOULD recommend the Goldton at St. Petersburg. The food, the Activity person, and the atmosphere is great... Mon-Fri 9-4.

This review is from a stay back in November of 2021. The marketing strategy was great, everything looked like it was going to work out wonderfully, but that was not the case. We paid a certain amount of money so that her monthly rent would never go up. After our loved one moved out, we were not able to get that chunk of money back. She could not find her call bell for a long time. My sister tried to get them to replace it and every time they said "so and so handles that she is not here". She went a long time without a call bell. My sister ended up finding it later down the road and it solved the issue, but it was disturbing that they would not help us. She fell twice. The first time they called the ambulance and she was ok. She was on a new medication and I think they should have been watching her after she fell the first time. They did not watch her and they let her walk all the way from her room to the dining room (which is a long way) and she fell again and broke her hip. After she broke her hip she had to have surgery and go into rehab. She had a cat and we asked if for a few days if they could change the litter box and feed it. They agreed to it and said it was no big deal for a few days until we could come and get it. When my sister called, she talked to the head nurse and they did not even ask how my mom was, she just wanted the cat out of the room. There was not a lot of med techs around or available. One of the ladies came up to my sister and asked her for help. There were residents helping other residents because there were no staff. There was just a sense that there were not enough staff. There was a time she pushed her call bell and it took them 45 minutes to get to her, that was not ok. There were some good people, but overall a lot of the promises that were made up front were not kept. For someone who does not have memory issues and is more independent, they might do well here. But for us it was not a good fit.

I scheduled a tour for this community, when I arrived I was told there was no one available to give me a tour, that the guide was out sick. I rescheduled and when I arrived for the second one, no tour. I was told no one was available to give the tour. The lobby was empty and I had to wait for someone to come to the reception area both times. Not a good start so I didn't return.

Unless your loved one can really take care of themselves, I wouldn't recommend the community for early diagnosed memory care residents. The community is short staffed overall. The community promised they would be checking on our loved one every two hours, and instead it is three times a day at meal times and when medications are dropped off. The communication with the staff isn't good with the family. They aren't addressing our questions or concerns we have brought to their attention.

Legacy Ridge has some competent workers but not many. If you are independent and able to speak up for yourself then you’ll be fine but if you really need assistance with showering, dressing or eating, this is not the place for your loved one. Also , the administration takes zero responsibly for any concerns you might have and the staff is unsupervised. The admin has excuse after excuse and never admits to any wrong doing on their part. I would not recommend this facility as a true assisted living facility.

I would want others to know that there were several occasions where the doctor on staff here did not return a phone call to me ever, not once in 7 months. I asked to speak to him directly because he had her on a drug that had a side effect of bleeding. 2 doctors ended up telling me she should not have been on that drug. The director said they had issues with him communicating with other families as well. My dad was on hospice and hospice did not ever show up. I called hospice to talk to them about it and they said they had everything documented and the facility never called to let them know to be there. There were also lots of discrepancies of things that the director told me and what actually happened. I do not think they have nearly enough help here for what is needed and they were unorganized. I had no trust in the facilities leadership and I would not recommend them to others who are looking.

I would want others to know when looking into Oakview park that half the staff we signed up with are no longer there, so all the people we liked in the beginning are now gone. COVID hit and we found out that a lot of people here had it. They were not prepared for this at all. They were horrible with commutation during COVID as far as contacting families with what was going on. It has been a roller coaster, we have had ups and downs with the facility.

My mom moved into Thrive in October. When we arrived, her room wasn't ready for her (blind was broken, stains on carpet), her call button pendent wasn't given to her and no one escorted is to her room or gave her a tour of the facility. (She was from out of state so hadn't set foot in there yet). There was a schedule of meals, showers, etc. Thrive had an opportunity to warmly welcome my mom and make her feel comfortable. They did not do so.

My family member has been a resident of Alto since it was known as Bickford, and then Charter Senior Living. We have been extremely pleased with the care given until Allegro Management took over in early 2018. Since then we are seeing a dramatic turnover in nursing and CNA staff. Wonderful gifted people who have been providing dedicated care for years are leaving. And new hires quit or don’t show up for work. I believe one of the most important things in a senior citizen’s life is consistency, especially for those with memory issues. Being cared for by someone who knows them, their daily needs, likes and dislikes goes a long way towards providing them with the ultimate quality of life. I am holding on to hope that this facility could return to its original greatness, IF Allegro Management wakes up and fixes what is broken before it’s too late.

Most of the time the community had so many technical problems with their emergency call buttons. I didn't feel that my loved one was secure because the emergency buttons most of the times were unavailable, so she didn't have someone to assist her right away. The meals were not good they didn't have much taste to them. The community was kept clean and some of the staff were nice.
