A Place for Mom has scored Atlas Senior Living with 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 370 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Atlas Senior Living has 1,279 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.1 out of 5.
We were made a lot of promises prior to move in, had numerous problems after move in with getting cable service, problems with hot water, washer/dryer not hooked up properly, etc. There has been a lot of staff turnover in key positions which has caused problems. Meals were great at first but have gone down in quantity and quality. I think they have finally gotten staff straightened out and are trying, we have had to up my sister's care due to her declining health and they are working with us. Never an ideal situation in these circumstances, the facility is gorgeous but house-keeping is not the best.

Despite text and phone calls asking them not to allow anything but water before surgery they gave milk and food. That led to a month delay in getting the surgery. We're not residing there anymore. Dad had to wear a catheter for an extra month and we had to have a private nurse monitor him 24/7 because they don't do catheter care at the facility. All that extra pain and money because they didn't follow clear, easy instructions.

We were there for two years. There were some of the original staff that were wonderful. We had a few that did not need to work with elderly people. It got better but they had a major staff turnover and the new director didn't even try to reach out to us about any of our concerns. And when momma died on[date removed] we had to pay for the whole month which we used to get her room cleaned out. By the [name removed] they went in there and started painting around momma's furniture which infuriated us but there was nothing we could do. They had the room rented [date removed] We just felt like they think of the numbers and not the people. I hope for the people that are in there now and thinking about going there that things will be better for them and their families. I'm sorry I laid this on you I guess we just haven't had anybody that cared enough to listen.

My Mom has been there for a little over two months. Facility is beautiful. Auxiliary medical staff is caring and thorough. Meals are first class. Learning state requirements they must abide by slowly. In-house staff is inconsistent in how they approach and care for her. Not willing to care for her differently to meet her Parkinson’s Disease needs.

The Range was really good because they offer whatever care is needed at a flat rate. Other places charged extra for every little thing needed. The food was just not good all around- new chef? New menu? My mother participated at first, but then lost interest. They needed a better activities coordinator.

Tribute at Black Hill was a very nice facility. The staff was friendly and welcoming. My father was there for one month of respite care. One issue from a care perspective was with the distribution of his medications. He was given daily meds regularly, but a medication that was to be given PRN (as needed) was not given when requested by my father. Because he couldn't remember the name of the medication, he was given Ibuprofen. At 92, he shouldn't have been responsible for remembering a difficult drug name, especially since the nursing staff had been alerted to his condition. Also, checking on residents didn't seem to take place as often as reported. My father slept through lunch one day and no one came to get him. We were told that caregivers check rooms when residents don't show up for a meal. This was not the case one Saturday when my sister came to visit. Overall, I think my dad had adequate care during his 30-day stay, but some tweaks need to be made.

I thought the Director was good as well as the ladies at the front desk. I honestly did not like the nursing staff. It's a nice place if you don't have a lot of issues....but once you start to get some medical issues, it would not be a place I recommend. They also just gave us a big price increase.

The facility is beautiful and has a good staff. There are plenty of programs for the residents to be engaged. The only serious issue that concerns me was the slow or no response when the panic button was pressed. This was an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed immediately since lives are so important.

She loves the other residents there and is doing more than she has in years which is wonderful. The food is bland with little variety. The protein source is always fish or chicken never beef which she wishes would change. She longs for a hamburger. They have been bought and sold twice in less than a year, so as a result there is frustration with having new administration all the time. My mother is happy so that is what is important, but on our end it is tiresome with new billing etc. Mom is so happy and loves the beautiful facility and active community It is kind of a combo!

Beautiful open facility with large windows to see outside. Outdoor areas surrounded by building, so set up well for Memory Care. Initial time they're very pleasant, then began to regress after the first 4 to 5 weeks. We saw other people wearing her clothes and she would be low on her clean laundry. Worst of all she was left in saturated depends to point of horrible fungal rash from front to back. When she would dry bottom after a showed, blood would puddle in floor from towel rubbing that irritated skin to point of breakdown. She was sent to hospital twice for this. The second time was not allowed to return because after the UTI and extreme fungal rash, her mentality worsened. This was the turning point to her becoming septic in the end. She was there about 10 weeks or so.

I don't know that they had a doctor that spent enough time there. I did hear they were getting a new doctor which would be good. I would tell others to maybe not to expect the staff to take care of personal hygiene for your loved ones. I thought mine would be on a care schedule each week as I was told but I had to do all of that when I visited, cut toenails, fingernails and get him to shower. Whenever I asked why they didn't, they said he never asked to. I think they only asked him to shower once in almost 6 months. We loved 2 of the nurses. I feel like they really cared. If someone needs extra assistance, they should ask to be on first or second level. Third level is far away and should be for more independent living, not the higher care levels.

Value is for cost is solo because they did not have enough staff to take care of my mother. They admitted that they didn't have enough staff, but that didn't make up for the fact that we were paying top dollar because my mother needed more care. Also, whoever was in charge and I cannot think of her name or her exact title, but she never answered or concerns either by email or by phone. It has been two years since my parents were there, and they only stayed for one month because it was not worth it due to the fact that there was no care.

I would recommend this facility ONLY if the loved one is independent and IF the family is able to be there on a regular basis to fill in the blanks. We were only there for 2 weeks. During those 2 weeks, our loved one's care depended on who was on staff at the time. We (our loved one) went from great care to being treated with disrespect and shown little dignity. Staff seemed to consist of mostly young women....some not so anxious to help a man....that may have been some of the problem. Communication...we only heard from Legacy when they thought there was a hiccup in them getting paid. The morning we realized our loved one may have suffered a stroke, it was me that called them to tell them my loved one was incoherent on the phone. The move in process...they had rolling carts we could use....other than that, we did it all. Meals: great if your loved one can eat any and everything....not so good at accommodating allergies and preferences. Very costly for what we got! They sound good and look good from the outside....

There seems to be a lot of staff turnover. Some caregivers are very nice to the residents but some are not nice, according to my mom. There are a lot of activities for the residents to participate in if they choose which is a definite plus. The meat is often overcooked and tough. The service time is very slow.
