American House

Absolutely love the American house my mother feels right at home and is been doing great

My mother doesn't really get a chance to particiapte in any of the activities because she doesn't get around too well so that's not applicable but I really can't think of a complaint, this is by far one of the best that my mom has been to. One of the things I really like is American House is in charge of the facility, the food, the maintenence, keeping it a safe environment for them; they have neck pendants which is great. When it comes to the medical needs of the people, there's a third party that comes in and that's all they do. They're two experts in the [removed] American House runs the facility and the medical part is run by an outside party and that was huge.

Maria was very friendly and informative. The option of a furnished apartment was the deciding factor for me.

Tour was great and I really liked the place. Rooms were nicely appointed and the staff was uber friendly.

We thought Elmcroft was just fantastic! My sister and I told mother that if she didn't want to move there, we will. She didn't get to stay there very long but they were wonderful to her. They don't have a covered area outside. It's a sunny place and there's not any outdoor covered place to sit and enjoy the weather. That's my only negative. The staff was incredible! It was just perfect. She did not want to go but within a week or so of being there she felt at home. That was a big deal because she was really upset and didn't want to leave her home. It's a wonderful facility - nice and clean. It's a beautiful place with so many activities. They really try to get everybody involved so that you're not lonely.

Stopped at this one after Stone and liked it the best. It had one building that had people without assistance 8 - 5, this would be the goal.

It's quite pricey so I'm not sure how long she's going to be able to stay there just because it is so pricey. So far, what she's received has been good. She hasn't needed any extra care but the day to day has been fine. She enjoys the activities. I know she likes the bingo because she's mentioned that in particular.

American House is a really great community with lots to offer for the price. We are paying about $2,700 for apartment, meals, cleaning service and medication assistance, plus all the services they offer free of charge as well. The community is very accommodating they were able to make adjustments to the apartment so that our loved one would be more comfortable. The community is also conveniently located with access to Access Transport which takes them to appointments; it is also located within walking distance of Kroger, Target, Lowes, Home Depot and Meijer. The apartment is very spacious with a nice size bedroom with plenty of closet space, a living room, bathroom, and a small kitchenette. They do offer a lot of activities on and off the community, but their transport vehicle is not handicap accessible so it limits those trips to those who have limited disabilities. Overall we are very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone.

I think it's very valuable. They got plenty of activities. We visited a few and we liked it because it's a small facility (only about 70 people there) and my mom enjoyed walking through and getting to know the people. The staff has been very helpful and understanding and very prompt to take action. My mom's had a few physical issues since she's been there and they've been great. I think they're doing a good job just the way they're doing it.

I took my mom here so she could get a feel of how it was. They set up a luncheon date for us and then a tour. After our initial interview with the director we were introduced to a resident on their welcoming committee to have lunch with. We were able to see the dining room and the residents at lunch. The food was delicious and we were given choices to choose from. We were able to ask the resident questions about the place and then we were taken on a tour of the rooms and the common places. My mom really liked it and it seemed to fit in with her lifestyle which is a little more active and she chose this place after touring 3 others. She has been there almost a month and is very happy there.

I looked at a few other communities and Elmcroft just stood out among the rest. They were the friendliest and most caring community. They seem to have a passion for what they do. They really are very caring and concerned about their residents.

This is my first choice as of June 1. Very nice facility and really like that it is one story.

One floor and the layout of the community were a big plus in our decision. Knowing other residents were also part of the decision making.

I really loved this place I sent my application and deposit. It was meant to be! Moving in!

Wonderful! Beautiful facility. Advanced memory care unit. Deficiency free. Going back to revisit and see about getting pricing down just a bit (I believe the studio is $2,200).

Another one of my top 3. I loved this place! Indoor gardens - rooms with terraces overlooking gardens - two bedroom apartment was excellent - full kitchens. The whole community was easy to navigate. Really enjoyed meeting with director.

Looks very nice. Spring LAke and HOlland. Fishing and pets allowed. Loos like lots of freedom with care as needed
