American House

My brother and I had grown increasingly worried about my mother's forgetfulness and had gotten her to agree to at least look at assisted living options. We visited Elmcroft and she liked it and to my surprise went ahead and put down a deposit. We had planned on moving her in about six weeks later as the room type she wanted was not yet available. Two days later her forgetfulness turned into hallucinations and I was calling both her doctor and Elmcroft to see what we could do. Elmcroft was wonderful about offering to get her into a temporary room as soon as the doctor would complete the paperwork. We got her in the next day and we have been so pleased with the kindness off all the staff and their flexibility. When mom got comfortable in the temporary room, there was no problem in changing our request and letting her stay in that room. Mom has been there about six weeks and has nothing but positive things to say about the staff. With the atmosphere there and some medication, she has made a huge turnaround and is happy.

Over experience with American House has been a very good one overall. They just provide a very good day to day experience, and I'd give them top marks across the board. Everyone has been very friendly, and they are taking great care of my loved one. From what I have heard they also do a great job with the food here!

Overall we're very pleased with American House as a facility. It is clean, the aide and administrative staff are all very friendly, and they have a lot to provide to their residents. However, I'd have to rate the medical staff they work with a 1. They do not seem like they've been properly trained to work with seniors, and really they just are not very good across the board. We've had a lot of trouble with them.

Everything was good. I am just having some problems with my dad right now but the facility was fine.

They do a very good job at American House of Petoskey! They worked very hard to understand the specific needs of our loved one. They were very compassionate, flexible, and accommodating when it came to helping him get situated and moved in. The staff were just very friendly and personable overall.

Overall I thought they did a great job at Elmcroft of Hamilton Place! Our loved one was only here for a brief respite stay, but overall everything went very well! It's a nice looking, clean community, and the staff were all very friendly. We also had a chance to eat here while we were touring communities, and they did a good job with the food!

Todd and Rene are the best! My dad loved the place. It is very warm and friendly.

It's wonderful. I was on a two year search through six states, they made me an offer I couldn't turn down, and I am so glad I took it. It's the most reasonable place I have found. The place is clean, and the staff is friendly, and attentive. Chef Sam is fantastic, he is very caring, and one of the best thing about him besides the food being wonderfully seasoned, but not too seasoned, is he incorporates fresh fruits and vegetables into his meals.

So are mom is really enjoying herself at American House Riverview. The staff have been wonderful and the activities are really nice. The food is great: I feel my mom is safe there and well looked after. Great relief since I live out of state.

The staff at Broadmore are very caring people. My sister loves living there! The place is always clean, and Pat says the food tastes very good!!

Our Mother, Dot Hyke lived at Elmcroft for a few months in 2013. In the beginning she wasn't happy that she needed to live in an assisted living situation, she had always been very independent and active. After a short while she grew to love every member of the staff and loved the facility. I know that she would have been much better off if she had moved there years ago. She even admitted that to me. It was funny that our Mother who had almost become reclusive at home, made the statement that with all of the activities she was never in her beautiful room. I can't possibly put into words the affection our family has for the entire staff at Elmcroft. Everyone always treated Mother with respect, kindness and love. She told me many times that she loved everyone there. She had become content with her life there and I know that if the Lord had not needed her she would still be there. The last time I was in Knoxville a few weeks before she died, my daughter and I both thought she acted like she had years before and seemed happy. Thank you Elmcroft for improving the quality of Mother's life during her last months. We will always be very grateful.

I have used Elmcroft on several occasions for respite care for my father. Each time the staff have been extremely friendly, professional and attentive. They called me on more than one occasion where they were concerned about some specific situation. They followup after those calls and after we have left. It is a wonderful place for seniors, especially those with dementia. Having tried another local ALF, I wouldn't take Dad anywhere else.

We've had a great experience with Elmcroft of Brentwood so far. It's a very nice looking community, and the staff have all been very friendly and professional. Even the the residents of the community will tell you how kind the staff are! They do a great job encouraging the residents to participate in their activities, or at least come out and socialize if they aren't going to participate. My loved one has also told us that the food is very good!

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for my loved one. I really liked the look of this community. It was a beautiful facility, and the staff all seemed very friendly and professional. I really liked some of the programs they described for their memory care residents. However, this place was over the budget that we were looking for, and it was a bit too far for us to consider it as an option, but it is definitely worth a look!

They're great, I would give them a six out of five. They are great as far as the way they handle the pricing. There have been no problems with laundry to this point. The food looks good and smells good, and if mom's eating it, then it must be good. They have a choice on the menus. We chose them for a couple of reasons, I made several unannounced stops, and was very impressed with what I saw. I also liked that it was relatively small and homey. My mind has relaxed a lot, because I know she is safe. The staff is just fantastic!! Everyone from the guy that does the maintenance to the director is wonderful.

Cedar lake was unable to accept my mother iwith her special needs

They are very clean and friendly. The value is pretty good, comparably speaking. The food is actually pretty good, I was surprised. They do a good job of responding to needs and concerns. The activities are pretty good too. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that needs to be improved. I chose them because of how clean and friendly they were.

I am very happy with this community! Mom is doing great, and adjusting very well. I would give them fives across the board. The place is clean, and the staff is all very friendly. I really don't have any complaints or anything I would like to see done better.

Was a great place and perfect location for our family. When the time comes that mom can no longer be at home this is where we would like her to be.
