American House

We are already signed up and then living at Parkplace with my mother and father-in-law, for over a month. I did indeed talk to the gentleman was, "a place for mom." We are very very pleased!

I'am very pleased with my mother's move to this community. Everything is working out very well. They are caring for her and her needs very well. It has been a very nice experience, and we are satisfied. They are providing her with good care. She is safe and in good hands at this community.

Besides being super clean, it is awesome & friendly environment. The staff & aids couldn’t be more friendly & caring. They are very interested in your needs. They are very gentle & very competent in assisting my parents. They make you feel like family. I would highly recommend Park Place to anyone especially those who need extended help.

This community is fabulous about keeping everything nice and clean. The staff has been nothing but friendly and nice to my loved ones. The food was really good until about weeks ago they got a new cook and it can do a little better. We think that this community is beautiful. This is the reason we chose here was because it has more of a country setting which is what we were looking for.

My loved has really made him self right at home since the move into this community. All of the residents have done an excellent job at welcoming him with open arms and making him feel comfortable in his new living environment. At this point he has no complaints and is very pleased with his decision to make the move into this facility.

The care for my father has been going great. The staff is very friendly and loving, they keep me updated on my father and answer any questions i have. The room my loved one is in is comfortable, has its own bathroom and is always clean. The residents are friendly and the community offers a mixture of activities. I would defiantly recommend the American House Southgate Senior Living to a friend.

This community has been treating my mother very well. The place is comfortable and safe for my mother. I wish the would update their menus and serve more than just sandwiches for dinner and lunch. This Halloween they had vendors come in and do raffles and games for the residents and family which we really enjoyed. The staff is 100% attentive and very friendly. The community is kept very clean they empty the trash cans daily which is a plus.

My mother is quite happy at this community. It is a new fresh place with great people. The staff is very helpful and cater to my mother's needs. The meals are over the top. The chef is wonderful she is fresh out of culinary school, loves too cook and is always happy to please the residents. I have eaten there myself and the dining area is set up like a fancy restaurant with black table cloths and decor. I would defiantly recommend this place to a friend!

We really like this place and the people. I am very satisfied with the work that they do for my loved one. My loved one really enjoys it here. The community is clean and neat at all times. Couldn't ask for a better place.

My friend is doing great here at this community. He loves it here, and is doing very well. They have a year round open pool. So he gets to go swimming whenever he wants to, and that is a big plus for him. His room is very nice, and he is allowed to bring to his cat with him. The meals are good. He is pleased with the food. He enjoys the staff, they are great. Also he isn't signed on a year long lease, it is month to month. It has been a great experience, he is pleased.

This community was the most gracious of them all and the staff has been very easy to work with. My loved one has really been enjoying the activity program as well as the company of the other residents. Overall she has been very pleased with this facility and would definitely recommend it.

I am very happy here. People are nice, food is good. There has been big improvement since Deb has taken over. I’m enjoying the additional activities that have been added.

Incredibly caring from medical term to AH staff. My mother passed away their and the compassion and dignity they offered my mother as well as the family went for our and beyond anything they were simply getting paid to do. They were all angels.

After caring for my mom & dad for 2 years at their home, it became apparent we needed more help. American House staff provided the care, comfort & nurturing my parents needed at an affordable price. They are like an extended family.

Lots to do – up to you your chain of activities, going out to lunch, bus available. Doctors in area. Library, nice shopping area.

Great facility! Clean, friendly staff, Executive Director is very thorough, kind and extremely helpful.

Executive director was wonderful. She gave a tour of the facility that was informative and fun!

It really amazes me to see how all of the staff know everyone by name even though it's a really large community. The staff always have time for the residents and are really attentive with them. My loved one enjoys participating in bingo, painting and their meeting class. I would highly recommend this place they go above and beyond.

My mother has been a resident at this American House for the past 3 1/2 years. I cannot begin to compliment the staff enough. [Removed] and [Removed] are Director and Assistant Director and their deep caring for seniors is apparent in everything they do. The rest of their staff goes above and beyond in all they do. This past Spring there were multiple power outages due to DTE problems. Each time the power went out it was "all hands on deck" making sure that each resident was properly taken care of and fears were alleviated. On top of this, each of the designated emergency contacts were called and apprised of the situation. My mother and I are so appreciative of the wonderful retirement life that is provided by these terrific, caring folks.

Lovely setting, well maintained, reasonable price, friendly staff. Church service is very conservative, nearby Methodist church may be better fit. Meal is at noon but very good. Small community but finding their friendly sort. One mile from Meijer.
