American House

I have done this kind of work for a very long time I toured this community and feel very good about it and I would put my family member there when time arrives.

Mom's current condition does not allow her to enjoy most of the activities that Beach House offers. It is too bad because they seem to have a lot going on and we do see others participating. In every other way we are pleased and comforted by the staff and services of Beach House. As she now enters the Hospice phase of her care, everyone is working together to take care of Mom in the best possible way. Our family is very happy that we decided on Beach House for Mom.

They were wonderful. Tempa who did the intake was very patient, and knowledgeable. The facility is clean, and friendly.

I interviewed multiple locations when searching for a home for Dad where he could receive the care that he needed. Elmcroft stood out for several reasons...the most important being the friendliness of their staff. The staff greeted me with a smile and seemed to geniunely enjoy working there. While maybe not the cheapest option of those I visited, the experience of the staff and the care provided was well worth any additional costs. You do really get what you pay for. I have nothing but great things to say about [name removed], the RN, and [name removed] as they have been the most helpful of anyone.

American House is turning out to be a wonderful place for my mom. She's very social so loves being around all the people and is making a lot of friends very fast. American House has a lot of groups come in for entertainment - last night there was a Brazilian Martial Arts Group! I stopped by to watch with mom - it was so much fun! Staff is very helpful and accomodating. American House was an excellent choice for us! Thank you [name removed]from "A Place for Mom" for helping with our many questions to figure out what to do, where to start and where to look! I really appreciate you :)

My mother has lived in the Charlevoix American House Assisted Living home for 2 years. She has been given personal attention from the begining and nursing care as needed by the in-house Advisa Care nurses. However, the Director, [name removed] and her Activity Director, [name removed] and the heart and soul of this home. They are loving and kind and have the most positive attitude. The involve the residents in diverse activities every day: ie weekly ice cream socials or cinnamon bun Fridays or Bingo or exercise classes. Then each month there is a special event, such as Christmas Dinner with family invited, a New Years Celebration or Valentine Dinner-Dance with live music. As a daughter, who is new at dealing with a mother with dimentia, it is wonderful that Brenda and her staff provide opportunities for family to celebrate life with their failing relative. I am so grateful for American House providing a safe, clean home for my mom.

Tour went very well. All of our questions were answered. Facility was beautiful, clean and smelled great. Staff were especially friendly and helpful. We are hopeful that our mother will be moving in shortly.

A very nice place and a definite possibility for mom. The staff was very friendly toward everyone. Nice that each residents place has a balcony or patio to make their own.

Had a tour without an appointment and [name removed] was great showing us around. A definite possibility.

A beautiful place. Mom said it was ‘too fancy’ for her taste but it was a great place with a lot of amenities.

[Name removed] was lovely and kind. Elmcroft is an older building and scheduled for new carpet and new paint. We visited a 2 bedroom and I found it terribly crowded and a bit depressing. (I actually knew the couple in the apartment) The bedrooms were very small and could accommodate a twin bed only. There did not appear to be any closet space. I must add that the staff was extremely friendly. Assisted Living is not appropriate for my parents at this time.

Very nice community. Staff and residents are very friendly. The 2BR apt was great. My wife wanted to move right in. Only problem is the monthly cost. We aren't able to afford $60,000/year for the unit. Will have to see what happens in the next few months. Hoped to have some VA support, but looks like I can't get it.

My 99 year old father enjoys living at Cobblestone at AHW. The staff is efficient, kind, and fun. He loves the food (except for green beans). There are lots of activities to choose from. It makes me happy to know he is safe and enjoying life.

Cobblestone has excellent staff! Compassion and love is obvious not sure of other buildings.

We couldn't of found a more perfect place for our mother for the last 1.5 years. It was rough at first but after she settled in she never wanted to leave. The staff and residents there were all so loving and caring to our mom [name removed]. The [name removed] family can't thank them enough for all they did.

My father (age 95) lived happily at American House Wildwood for 2.5 years. the best review I can give is he told me this summer that "Moving to American House was the best decision - I am much better off here than any place I could have lived." Well run, clean, decent food, reasonable cost, and most importantly the staff overall positive, helpful and upbeat. Management sets the right tone and it works!

I have worked in the industry for over 20 yeas and AH Petoskey is so caring. Staff goes above and beyond. Always decorated beautiful for the holidays. Residents always have a smile. Excellent place to live!

Always clean and looking good. Residents are busy everytime I come into the community. Staff are welcoming.
