I picked this community for several reasons; location, only place with private washer/dryer. Most other places had shared laundry facilities. And the meal options were most extensive. Choose meals from a menu, and it's served to you like in a restaurant. And the quality is top notch. You can choose steak, fish, chicken or pasta any day of the week, and you can order breakfast any time of the day. You can even have your meals delivered. No other facility gives so many options.

I would say I am very happy with all the services at American House, especially the Medical Team. They have also done a great job of keeping me informed about any concerns. It is not listed as Assisted Living, but it does provide these services.

The front desk and CNA's in Memory Care are friendly and caring. The CNA's are good communicators with the residents as well as the families. ED, nursing and CNA staff are all good communicators so far. There are new directors of Nursing and Memory Care, so not a long history yet but they seem nice and competent. The housekeeping is generally good. They could pay more attention to the supplies that they provide like filling soap dispensers and trash can liners, but those are minor issues. The move in was pretty easy. It's a good long push from the garage to the elevator. Their team helped hang pictures and a wall mounted TV. The meals are good. Fresh Ingredients and made in the kitchen. Service is good, with nice table settings, cloth napkins and lots of beverages offered to residents. It's a beautiful property, but what really matters is the care and food. So far, they have not disappointed I would recommend American House Oak Park to others.

I would say that my experience was and still is excellent and to trust your instincts. On my first tour I had a resident walk up to me and said "I just love it here" I picked this community because of the activities, the caring staff, pool, individual freedom, off site trips to restaurants, grocery shopping, cleanliness, restaurant style dining, size of the living space.

My loved one is currently a resident at American House Holland and we've been very pleased with every aspect of this facility. The staff are always friendly and treat our loved one with such respect. I have witnessed such kindness toward other residents and I know their job is not easy! My loved one's room is always clean. We are totally pleased with everything. It had everything she needs. It is fabulous and the care is awesome. She is very happy and doing so well.This is the place! It is like a resort. Food is great. You receive a menu and servers take your order. Staff is wonderful. Activities are many and great entertainment. She has a separate bedroom and kitchen which is wonderful. Housekeeping is great.

I would say that they cost a fortune and don't communicate in a timely fashion if at all and don't seem to be able to deal with the complexities of a resident with dementia. We picked this community, because it was close to us, let her have her cat and it seemed like a place she would choose.

From what we have seen of the activities they look great, but our loved one does not participate in them. We gave the value for cost a 4 because it keeps increasing. The reason we gave #5 a lower rating is due to the lack of staff and not anything else! Honestly...it's location that we enjoy the most about the community! She is safe and happy there! We would recommend American House Cedarlake to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Everyone who works here goes above and beyond. I was having a problem with my computer and the housekeeping director took the time to figure it out and help. All of the staff is great and truly cares. I am happy that I moved here!
