American House

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. It was a bit on the larger side, which I didn't think would be the best match for us. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

Everything here has been so wonderful from the beginning. Everyone has been so helpful. Sara I think her name is so very helpful, caring and assisted me and my family in all of our needs.

Very health and fitness focused and with lots of activities and healthily options. Great pool with a slide and lots of fun.

Things are going well at Elmcroft and I have no complaints with the staff or facility so far.

My Dad is doing very well here. The staff is great. They are patient and caring. The facility is really nice and well kept. So far, the experience here has been a good one.

So far it seems to be a pretty good experience with the American House. I think like delivering their meals up to the room, it's like $5 a meal, so that seems kind of high. Otherwise, it has all been pretty good.

Great place. Literally a municipality. It should have its own zip code. It has everything including a barber shop. It's clean, no ordors. Nicely laid out. The grounds are well kept.

I have only been at American House Sterling Meadows a short time but this I can say for sure. The Director and Assistant Director, Renee and Todd, are the best. They make you feel comfortable. You are treated like family. There are a lot of activities and outings if you are so inclined. The apartments are the perfect size and it so wonderful not to have to clean, cook, and do laundry. Good food and good company. The only thing is that sometime I might want a little more and it isn't available. Very friendly staff and they have a medical team available for an additional cost.

Overall I am very pleased with Elmcroft of Hendersonville. There is a heater in the bathroom which is nice is nice. There is also a refrigerator in the room. Everything is going well here.

There is nothing to say about the American House Bonita Springs Senior Living out from the top of my head. I think that the initial admissions part of the process with them went pretty well for my loved one.

I do think that they could improve on their food. My husband and I ate there one night and the food was cold, which my mother has commented on before as well. I also do not think that the majority of their soups are very good. I know they have a lot of people to serve, but the food does need improvement. Another thing is there was one time recently when she called for assistance and it took a good while for someone to come which was concerning as she needs help when she needs to walk somewhere so she doesn't fall. They are very friendly and very open. I like that the staff calls everybody by name. The facility is beautiful and very clean. So they have a lot that is good, but certainly some area for improvement.

Pros: Atmosphere warm & homey. Layout functional. Clean. Grounds well-maintained. Zero-entry pool pristine. Staff friendly. Many activities available. Onsite medical and therapy services. Neutral: Newly opened facility currently at around 50% occupancy--likely to fill up quickly. Cons: there are few smaller 1-bedroom "apartments" compared to the number of larger 1-bedrooms and studios. No smaller 1-bedrooms offer lake view. Smaller 1-bedroom options are very small; the living space of one of the smaller 1-bedroom floor plan options is not very functional. Wish there were some options with a small kitchenette to maximize living room space for those not interested in a full kitchen. Strange, bulky heating/cooling duct work system in apartments. Overall, beautiful facility with many positive features!

She didn't ever end up moving in, due to a decline in her health, but it looked like a very nice place and is definitely worth a look!

They are very friendly, but they mislead us. We put her in the facility knowing that her finances could not afford the monthly rent, but they said we could apply to get aid. We did, but we were denied and we have still been refused any assistance with her. So I feel like the mislead us in accepting her even though it was clear from the start she could not afford it.

I do think that they could be better with doctors appointments. They only do them once or twice a week, but my aunt needs it four days a week. Other than that it was really a wonderful place. It is beautifully furnished, and the staff was all very friendly and helpful. They would walk her back and forth to dinner and were just very friendly and helpful in every way imaginable.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Elmcroft of Brentwood seemed like a very nice place overall. It was clean, and the staff seemed friendly and professional. We ended up choosing somewhere closer to family, but this place was definitely somewhere we would consider for our loved one.

Any time I have had issues, they have been very quick to address them. I do think that they need to improve the food, as it really leaves something to be desired. They sometimes will serve the exact same dish three nights in a row. Overall though they have been very good.

It wasn't enough for her, it was the wrong fit. There were never any concerns as far as how clean it was, or the food. I liked the people there a lot, they were very nice. We tried to make it work, but she just needed more than they were equipped for.

It's a great facility but the medical team is short staffed and they do minimum. They don't have enough people to get to all the residents. They are not really good but Nancy the nurse is fantastic. They need to have a low salt diet and a diabetic diet. The food they serve is too high in starch and bread. There is not enough choices for diabetics.

My aunt has been at Elmcroft in the Memory Care unit of nearly 3 years. Overall the staff tries very hard to ensure a safe and nurturing atmosphere. It is beautifully decorated, clean and very well maintained. The workers are there because they love working with the residents.I I see this demonstrated each day. The only thing I would change is the high turnover especially when residents and family members get used to certain employees. I would also like to see more cutting edge activities that are designed to keep those with dementia and Alzheimers engaged. In a nutshell, I would recommend this facility.
