It was a nice place but a lot of the areas appeared to be drab. The staff did interact with the residents and were friendly. The residents seemed happy as I talked to one. Just not the place for my mom.

[Name removed] was well prepared and answered all my questions. It’s a nice facility. The rooms are ample. They seemed dark, though. The floor in memory care was sticky, but that was probably just this day. There was a smell of feces close to the room we toured. I understand that someone probably had an accident shortly before we arrived. We spoke with the daughter of a resident who said she was happy with the facility, especially because she felt her mom would not be mistreated.

Too expensive by at least $300 with 1 BR starting at $1900+; 1 1/2 year wait; beautiful complex that mom would be happy in; offered no guidance for fiancial assistance.

Nice location and nice facility. I was there right after lunch and barely saw anyone out and about, which was disappointing. I hoped to see people out of their rooms doing something. The focus of the tour was more open rooms than the actual services and activities that would be provided. Our main reason for moving mom is to increase her quality of life and get her doing more, and my tour did not give me that feeling moving her here would accomplish that.

The staff are wonderful caring people. The facility is stylish, and well maintained. There are always fun activities offered to the residents. Improvement would be best in the area of food preparation and serving.

Everybody is friendly. Office is helpful if you need someone; entire staff is.

Pretty good building. The staff is very friendly. I like to sit outside. There are always people out there I talk to.

The staff is very caring. My only suggestion is to have additional staff in the memory care unit especially during meals.

I believe that there are some things that can be improved but all in all I find it is a good place to live.

Food is OK, not special. Housekeeping below average. The effort by the staff is excellent in keeping the residents engaged and active. Personal care is very good. Very responsive to call button.

Good Location. Clean and pleasant surroundings. Residents are wonderful, friendly, and participate in activities which there are many of. There is much entertainment for residents and interesting day trips. Management not dependable or profesisonal. No follow through. Food is almost mediocre

[Name removed] is a great sales marketing. When my husband and I came in here for my sister in law, [name removed] has always been very professional with every question and explained it will. Time after time with no question she has had the patience even with my sister in law. [name removed] is great!!!

Brand new, clean. Everyone seemed happy, smiling. Open seating at meals. Bistro for snacks. Screened in lanai overlooks pond w/water feature. Studio very roomy. Full fridges/large microwaves.

My mother has been at American House for almost 2 years. I can not say enough about the staff. They are very caring and go above and beyond for the residents. My mother has a one bedroom apartment that is spacious. Breakfasts and lunches are very good, but the dinners are hit and miss as far as service and quality of food. Overall, I would highly recommend American House for Independent Care.

The American house Southland is very nice, it is kept clean and environment is friendly. The Med Team is very inadequate. There is no consistency in times and services. Med carts left unattended in the hallways. I'm hoping this is not how they are trained. Just not enough caring of the team. We have hired outside help and my mom is so much happier.
