American House

This community was in a nicer area and really seemed like it was the newer one of the American House chain. The only issues we had with this community is that it is small and seems like the residents wouldn't have too much room to move around in common areas.

We looked at all the other communities in Johnson City and they are truly the best. We compared all the prices and they were the best deal and really the best community to care for our loved ones. They are very good to their residents and care for them very well. They are very cooperative and accommodating. They listen to us and will try to do everything they can to please us. Our loved ones love it here. We are very pleased with them and would highly recommend them.

It was pretty nice. The decision for where we ended up was based on the proximity to the hospital where my friend's doctor has privledges and it just to happened that by luck, there was a community right by it. Unfortunately it was not American House.

Very nice. No openings... wait list is 2-3 months out. Did not see any apartments... nothing unoccupied.

They really made it easy to transition my mom into this community. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I am very pleased with my decision.

We liked American House, but it was pretty dark and not as cheery as Ashford Court.

Close to shopping (Kroger), garden out back. I didn't like that the windows seemed small. Visited it about a year ago. Seems affordable.

Lovely views from villas but carpet & kitchen dated. Layout very functional.

Mother would not fit it. A little too uppity for her even though a was a very nice place.

Very nice smaller facility, great menu, good activities. Furnished respite room. Friendly happy residents

very nice first impression, wonderful activities director, possibility to do a little gardening, **Baptist Church comes and has a meeting on Monday nights - my dad would like that, three meals a day, sheets and towels washed once a week but residents do their own personal laundry or pay extra/month, a number of benches out front so seniors can sit in the sunshine, nice view of pine trees if you request a room that faces toward the back, independent NOT assisted - if you have a problem wandering you'll be asked to leave

He liked this one the best. The staff was friendly and helpful and had a true sense of caring for their residents. The activities were adequate. They do have outings. Very nice garden and area to participate in gardening. Small group of residents that seemed to be in later stages of life. Convenient to get to. Wasn't as cheerful as I would have liked. Hallways did not go around the entire facility (no horseshoe floor plan) and hallways were not cheerful. Room seemed smaller and did not have small fridge or sink aside from bathroom.

Have toured Broadmore with staff, liked very much, but find it too expensive at this time.

Very interested in the Villas. Not a full meal plan, which might be interesting to my mom.

Although I liked this location a little more than the Farmington House, I was a little concerned about the absence of 24-hour on-site medical care. I would consider this as an alternative residence.

It has a smaller, more homey atmosphere - not pretentious. Manager is fabulous and seemed to know everyone in the building!
