American House

We went on a Sunday to tour the community. It seemed like a ghost town. There was not a lot going on at the time, we didn't see any interaction. I thought the community looked nice and clean. We thought this community was too distant from our home.

My husband's family found this a reasonable and applicable place for their dad. He now has an apt. but has not moved in yet. We can not grade care services at this time.

The respite care went very well. He enjoyed it and he would come back again. The meals were okay, not the best. They did have activities available and they have one outing a week. I would recommend this community to others for respite.

This is a lovely community, I was impressed with my tour of it. Everybody was very kind and friendly. The community appeared to be well maintained. It was a bit expensive for our budget, and that was the main factor. My tour guide was very informative, and nice. My tour went very well.

The community is well maintained. The staff are very efficient and have great follow up. They had some extra furniture and they moved it into my friends room for him to use. He likes the food and I would recommend this community.

I toured this community for my mother. My tour went well, this is a nice community. From what I saw everything appeared to be neat and tidy. The staff I met was kind and friendly. They were informative, my questions were answered. We did find a community that suited my mother and our needs better, but this is a nice community.

Lovely place, nice folks, but too expensive.

The staff that took me on the tour was very knowledgeable and kind. The community was very clean and well kept. The food is served and I prefer to make my own food. They offered many activities. I would recommend this community to friends and family.

This is a excellent community. The staff is wonderful they take care of the grounds and her room. The food is excellent and both my parents are very happy there. The staff is excellent and help both of them adjust to not being in the same room. They have visits daily which helps them adjust. A highly recommended community for all needs.

We moved my parents into a 2 bedroom unit (hard to find) this past week. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Clean, no smells, safe. Expected more food-wise since we had read such great reviews. Apartment had some issues that should have been addressed prior to move in. Slow to get these things fixed until the right maintenance man took over for us. It's only been 6 days, I am confident that my parents will be happy there once they learn the ropes of living in a senior community. I hope they participate in the many activities offered. This staff really does care. Would encourage others to consider Brookdale Sarasota Central.

My dad is still getting used to being in the memory care unit. The staff at this community are very attentive, hands on and helpful. They try to get him involved in some of the activities available. The food is good and they have very good portions. It is a clean community and I would recommend it.

It was a difficult decision for my father to give up his house but his choice to move to American House Cedarlake was right on! The staff and residents are truly happy and helpful. They offer a wide variety of activities and the food is first class. My father is very pleased with his choice.

This is a great community, it was one of my top choice to move my father to. Unfortunately they did not have any space available at the time we toured. The community is very nice and clean. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. They were very informative as well. It was a nice experience.

I really liked this community, my tour went very well. The community looks great and very well maintained. I got a really good feeling while touring this facility. The staff was very nice and friendly. Our problem was with the rooms, they are very small and tight. Everybody was very welcoming and kind. It is a very nice community, but just not the right one for my father.

Next best if not able to live in your previous home.

We had a brief experience with Elmcroft of Lebanon, and overall I thought it seemed like a nice place. The people here were friendly and professional, and the facility seemed clean and well run. Really my only complaint is that I think they could offer a little more variety when it comes to meals.

Everything is going pretty well for my mother since her move to this community. This is a good community and it is clean and looks nice, it's not perfect but good. The staff has been welcoming and kind to us. They are very helpful and friendly. She is eating very well, they do serve her a well balanced meal. It has been a good experience and I would recommend this community.

Very nice and friendly. Did not have memory care

This ended up not being the place for my father. He needed more memory care, and they do not offer this type of care at the community. The community was a nice one and has a great staff there. It was a nice and clean place, and I didn't have any problem with the people there. My father is now in a community that suits his needs better. I would recommend this community, it is a nice place to move your loved one to.

My brother was the guest at American House. He stayed four days as a trial visit. He was not comfortable there and left after four days. He has lived alone all his 94 years, and just could not adjust to group living. The family did not have a concern about the facilities, we did however question the confusion about his name. His name is Henry and his ID listed his name as Harvey. When I question it at the administration office they also had it wrong. This kind of mix up has the potential to cause problems. He was also upset that when they did get it straight, he was called Mr. Henry which of course he is not If there was a Mr. Henry at AH this also could cause a med. error. He is living at home with the assistance of in home care.
