Beautiful apartments. Lovely facility lay out & colors. Director very helpful. Rent is reasonable.

Best logical choice - (full service LITCH facility w/MI Choice Med Waiver option - assets outlive her), even with a TWO BEDROOM unit.

We liked the Heritage Place.

No locked doors for dementia.

Beautiful for those who like heavy, rich Belgian architecture. Lots of activities take place in the basement and some might find that unappealing. Wonderful staff - enjoyed meeting director. Great tour.

The staff and director seem very qualified and friendly. The facility is undergoing some remodeling, and needs some TLC.

It's expensive. The old wellness person, was not organized and lacked communication. The new wellness person communicates better, and it is a much better experience. They seeem to be on top of things, if there is a medical issue or injury. They have had limited pool use-during COVID The restaurant is closed, and they have to eat in the room.

This community was too big the way that it was set up and I did not think that it would for my loved one.

I would recommend them overall, but there are some major issues to be aware of. I would make some recommendations of some things to be taken care of up front. For instance we didn't realize that they didn't have our loved one's medication list, and we hadn't counted the number of pills we gave them. We did have some theft of electronic equipment. We hadn't had a chance to set it up yet. It, was in a box in the room, clearly not trash. And it was just gone. So at that point we brought home anything of any value. The director listened initially when we reported it but never returned my phone call when I asked for an update. With the residents wandering in and out of rooms, I don't necessarily trust that the staff would recognize if someone who doesn't belong is in the facility. The kitchen staff is just awful. It's so hard to get waited on or get something extra if you need it. They don't clean the tables in between meals. They don't have nearly as many activities as they told us the did. All they really have is bingo and movies. On the more positive side, the overall staff is friendly. It's a beautiful facility. The elevators always work. Dinner is on time. They do come and make sure the residents get up and get dressed for the day. They seem to like everybody. And there's good communication and reminders from them. And the nursing staff is good, as well as their in-house physician. We really do like them.

We chose American House because it is close by and it looks very nice. I am not particularly happy with the place itself though.

The community seems to be pretty well kept and in order, and so far we have have no issues with the friendliness of the staff members

We chose American House Sterling Meadows because of the location as well as the value for the money. The biggest problem we had was the food, they had little variety and availability and it was just not good. I think the facility has great potential, if the food was better it would be a great place.

The community told me that this is a community that can progress care but they are no saying they can not provide the care needed. They also said they accepted medicare but they now say they dont. The are no activities at all and you are required to make an activities deposit but due to covid, there have been no activities. If your loved one is 100% independent this might work for you.

They have recently got an all-new management team. communication is good between the staff and our family is good. They keep us well informed and up to date. I don't think that very many of the staff have received the vaccine yet. I would recommend this community to others.

I would encourage others to shop around. My loved one was in memory care unit at Elmcroft. The memory care community is too small in my opinion. On average they only had 8 or 9 residents in this part of the community. There were times that during the day they would only have one direct staff member to take care of these 8 or 9 residents. The food was good.

I love most of the staff here who make this place feel like home. Only suggestion is to have one department wash all laundry.

In general I would recommenced American House. The family members need to stay very involved with their loved ones care.. There are only 20 or fewer residents in each building which is nice for residents to build relationships but is harder for activities to be brought to each building. American House would be better for residents in Independent or Assisted Living. Memory care staff is lacking in training. The memory care could use some stimulation for residents such as a fish tanks or bird aviary. It has gotten better but is a work in progress. I have never had an issue with how my parents have been treated, the staff has always been kind and professional.

Everyone was so nice there and made my mom feel very welcome, The staff was very polite and quick to answer any questions I had. They have lots of activities, outtings and family and friend events.. My mom is very happy here

The people are friendly, but they lack consistency on laundry and cleaning.
