American House

We were very impressed with what we saw during our tour experience at American House West Knoxville. It was just not a good fit for my loved one, he had a lot of special needs that could not be accommodated.

I toured American House and although they were under renovation, it was a nice tour experience. we chose another community because of its location.

This community did not have the washer and dryer in the rooms and did not have a stove. It was also to far for me and we did not want to be that far away from everything that I needed.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. They have a variety of different sizes of rooms, the cleanliness, and staff stand out to me. The staff are very helpful if I have questions or concerns about my loved one. Overall my loved one has been satisfied with the food. The community has activities available for the residents to partake in if they choose to.

Our family had an in person tour and this community is close by which is nice. However the rooms they had available were very small and the atmosphere was just not as energetic and active as we were hoping. The tour itself was still good, the community is very clean.

This was a good community for your loved one. I liked everything about it but one thing. I did not like the medicine distribution process. Everything else about this community was good to go and I have recommended it to others. They had activities like arts and crafts and holiday activities, games and more for the residents to do to stay busy in the community.

You have to check and see if this is the right community that you are looking for. Everyone has different things that they find important. The staff are great so far.

Overall I thought it was a nice place, the staff were friendly. But when we went to tour there was not a lot of activity which was what we were looking for for my mom. The residents were all hanging out in their rooms. That is why we decided against them.

We're very pleased with it. They've been good to our loved one. The staff is good, especially [name removed] in Sales. We looked at five different places, and they were all satisfactory. But Beach House stood out to us for several of reasons. First, [name removed], their sales person, was extremely flexible with us. She allowed us to switch rooms and was very caring about our situation. And she was able to meet with us at all different hours. Also, visiting hours are flexible, so we can stay as late as we want within reason. They also have a great physical therapy team. We like the looks of the place - the colors at Beach House are all very refreshing and uplifting. And to top it all off, they offered a moving bonus, where a truck came out and moved her furniture from her house at no charge, which was a nice touch. And they also donated a brand new bed to her as well.

We like the smaller scale of the community, and its in a good proximity of our family

The care could have been better. The communication with the community broke down somewhere along the line with the family and staff during my loved one's stay. I believe my loved one should have been in memory care and evaluated more. The activities could be improved for the residents. Overall, this felt like the right choice for my loved one.

Just looking at this time. We are not ready at this time. Community is very nice.

This is a good place. Sometimes feels like my loved ones in memory care could use more attention from staff to assist with finding lost items, dressing, and more. Some of the activities include therapeutic art, planet earth exploration, aroma therapy, music, hot coca bar, wine down Wednesday, and more for the residents to participate in.

No Medicare waiver; however, it had a homey feel to the community.

We had a good tour experience with American House Freedom Place. The only issue was the location was a little challenging, we were looking for something in a residential area and this did not meet that criteria.
