American House

One of the reasons I chose America House at Coconut point was they had a small apartment ready furnished. I just didn't like to buy a bed and a dresser and all that.I will pay extra every month to rent that furniture but that's OK. I like the place the Help the CNA's are OK. I would like that a nurse would see him more often because of his suprapubic. The food is not great. I would eat more often with my husband there. I've looked around again in other places, since, but the ratio of the people who take care of the assistant living people it's not any better than the America House.

Our onboarding experience at American House Park Place was excellent. The staff was accommodating and informative. Good local contacts. They were responsive to my questions and concerns. My uncle has been there about 2 months and he has been a bit slow to adjust but getting better. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and knows each resident. While they have a lively event calendar sometimes the setting seems quiet. Self motivation to stay active is important because it is a large population and space. Overall, as his niece who lives out of town, he is safe and well cared for in a friendly new world.

Welcoming staff. I would recommend to others. Nice that they allow pets!!! I wish my Mom could have a dog but she's not mobile

Very helpful and really seem to pay attention to your loved ones and know what's going on.

Facility is well maintained and amenities are good, lots of activities for residents, apartments are very nice. The one negative I would add is that communication still needs to be improved upon and van driver went on vacation for two weeks with no good option for resident transportation.

The apartment is great. Perfect size. She did an excellent job with housekeeping. Unfortunately, she hasn't participated in any activities. The only issue we have had is dealing with the medical team. Not really responsive or rather no urgency in response.

The medical staff has been very helpful when I needed them The cleaning staff are very efficient In what they have done for me I have not taken full advantage of them as yet. That comes back to the size of my specific apartment. I am still bringing things over a little at a time and trying to find places to store things. I am in what is considered a handicap apartment which has less storage in the kitchen and bathroom. I am in the process of getting a dresser that can store some linen closet , jewelry and makeup items. This will make more room in my linen closet for bathroom item. Also the coat closet off the living room and my bedroom closet are smaller than others. I know this because my mother used to live here a few years ago in another area of the complex. Also the facility is not set up for large gatherings. So when there is a party for the whole complex it is very congested. As I said before most of the staff I have met at very nice and helpful. Also I have met some very nice residents.

Apartment size was great however my mom was sick and not able to be there long. The staff were very helpful and responsive.

They contact me with occasionally help updates like UTI's that require adjustments in medications. I don't have much else to add. They let her two small dogs move in with her but I'm guessing they regret that decision.

American House Westland has a very good facility and staff. There is nothing specific they could improve on.

I would say the facilities are fabulous for the price and staff is wonderful. The one thing that keeps me from giving a 5 is going to be the same challenge at literally any assisted living facility and that is the quality of care from the medical team. Very demanding work for very little pay leads to lapses in care and high turnover.

The initial communication seemed good. But when it actually came down to getting a specific service set up, there was no communication with that provider and even the staff said the provider did not communicate with them. No one seemed to know how to "make it happen." I believe better communication is something to work on in most environments. As with anywhere, there are staff who are great and those who are not. Overall, most of the staff I have interacted with have been kind and helpful. The room is a good size and seems to be cleaned regularly. My mom often comments that the food is good and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately my mom doesn't really participate in activities much but there are a variety planned throughout the day.

The staff have been extremely helpful and kind. The facilities are well maintained. My mother's studio apartment is a perfect size for her. The food is average, according to my mother. Overall, she is adjusting fairly well, and we are very pleased.

They have very friendly staff. I would tell another family considering this community, that it is nice. Yes I would recommend American House Southland Senior Living to others.

I would recommend to others. The location is great, right ona rail trail and close to downtown. Everyone I've encountered on staff has been delightful and helpful. New residents get a mentor to help with the adjustment. They have live music concerts, lectures and other social opportunities.

They are a fine place. They have nice workers and residents. I would recommend the community to others who are currently searching for one.

The facility was nice. Clean cheerful and the residents seemed happy. The room was sufficient and could work. Provided services seem to be patient centered and for their best interests

The facility was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For assisted living it looks like a great place. I see people doing activities in the common area often. The place does not smell bad at all. Unfortunately I don't think the facility was a good choice for a person that is bedridden and on hospice.

In short, very helpful, friendly and supportive They could have more variety on the food menu and switch it up from chicken.

The staff is truly excellent. Free transportation to doctors or anything. Medical within 10 mi on Wednesdays.
