Over the three years, my father has received good care and overall we have had a very positive experience both in assisted living and how memory care.

I am comfortable here. The staff is friendly and the food is good. They make day to day living easy.

A great place for anyone to move into, friendly staff and a clean facility.

Don't feel there is enough activities for them. Hoping with new director that will change. Otherwise, very happy with American house.

Good view from room- light and bright; One level, facility is in good shape, longevity of staff, convenience to medical facilities.

My mother has some memory issues and living alone was becoming more challenging for her. She had been spending more and more time alone since her husbend had passed four years ago. She was against leaving her home at first, but she quickly warmed up to living at American House Sterling Meadows. Not having to cook for herself anymore was a huge selling pointe her. She enjoyes the food and the serving staff are friendly and helpful. She has a little dog that was welcomed with opened arms by the staff and the residents which made her feel right at home. She likes the activities they have there, especially Bingo and loves sitting and talking with other residents and staff in the gathering space at the front of the building. Her room is not to big and not to small. Just right for her. She has made many friends in the three months she has been here and has thanked me more than once for finding this wonderful place for her. The staff is great and my mom is happy and at home once again.

I love that the menu changes weekly and comes from the feedback we provide. The ED truly listen and cares. The front desk is smiling and helpful.

All senior facilities are not alike. I think this rates above most. The building is beautiful. the activities are plentiful and the staff is excellent.

Living here 3 years has been a pleasant experience. Primary reason are the friends; make like enjoyable. After that fact, is my comfortable apartment my new home. The fitness center givers me real interest; I always feel good after a work out. Another feature which pleases me is the library. The two meals a day are fine as good as possible. For my age. I'm doing very well thankfully.

Communication here is a problem (lack of ) possible storage not available promised at entrance trough restrictive diets are not are not available promise staff friendly and attentive. We were well cared for during recent storm maintenance is answered quickly and with care TV and internet service us only good part time. I still don't know or understand "wellness staff" activities are usually good. Movies are not good.

Delve deeply into what constitutes " cleaning" the apartments. It is very cursory and we found out they won't pick up anything. They don't clean the bathrooms. My brother and I take care of that weekly.

What we like the most about American House is their staff is not agency. They are a caring staff. And friendly. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Breakfast carryout, dinner and supper: 2 shifts = 1.5 hour per meal. Good chef, food ok, served warm, servers helpful. Have had server staffing problems. Care is from another company (Ready Care). Daily manger is good, but staff doesn't do well with Alzheimer's/Dementia clients: meals/meds not always timely. Activity director (5) had a baby in [date removed] and set schedule for activities, entertainers and videotaped exercises. Staff and residents working together to cover some activity: Bingo, trivia, & art. (Weekly entertainers scheduled). Friday Happy hour continues with snack and drinks before entertainers & supper. Holidays very good, special food, activities & entertainers scheduled.

I like it here. I use the VA and they are helpful. The maintenance man is very good. Food is very good most of the time good value for cost.

What we like the most about the community is the cost, activities, and friendly staff. Now, keep in mind my mother has not been there in a couple of years. Her level of care exceeded what they could provide.

I have had a profound experience while working at AHZ. The residents and staff have been amazing to work with, so many deep stories and love to go around. I would recommend AHZ to those individuals who care about others and would like to make a difference.

It has been a great experience at American House. My dad has improved considerably since he has been living there.

The only area I wish Mt. Prospect Senior Living would focus improving upon is activities for their residents on the memory care side. There does not seem to be a lot of activities for them to do. They are often left to watch TV in a group in the main gathering area. Otherwise, we have been pleased with the care our mother is receiving there.

The staff communicate well with family members, treat residents with kindness, attentive to needs of residents and receptive to feedback from family members. They are very visible whenever we visited and interact with residents.
