Staff members are very helpful and kind. Residents have food choices. The facilities are clean. Management members are available to communicate with.

i loved the residents. The two-bedroom apartment was a great size. Staff was excellent. main complaint was the food. it was not very good and even though we had full kitchens to cook in, there was no way to opt out of meals. we were charged whether or not we went down for meals

The Staff are so helpful and caring. The Residents also look after each other. It is always clean and my Close Friend says the food is wonderful but she skips one meal so she won't gain weight.

The only true complaint I had was trying to get them to add closet doors and replace the blinds in my Mothers room. It took 2 months, which was completely unacceptable. A lot of the issues she had (like getting all her clothes out and strewing them everywhere) were fixed simply by putting a door on her closet.

The pricing discussion is where we've had our issues. It felt a little shady at times.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Maintenance is very prompt at responding to issues.

There are no doctors on staff. They are PAs. The food can be repetitive. The organized activities are AMAZING (although my parents aren't well enough to utilize them). Living in hurricane country, it was important to us to find a place where my parents were not in a flood zone and would be evacuated in case of a hurricane. It was also important that they had a generator that would run in case of power outages. We found that with The Palms. They will always be safe and cared for.

They accommodated our budget at the time, however I sense that the cost might have become an issue. I would have liked to have better/ more communication with the nurse(s) regarding medications and dosages, and also for them to be more proactive about setting up therapies and ancillary services that we asked for my dad.

The staff can be helpful if you ask. The common areas are kept clean. They could improve on cleanliness by sweeping and mopping Mom's room. Her restroom often needs to be cleaned. They do a good job taking her trash out. The food could be improved by serving baked foods, fresh fruit and salads.

Nothing is perfect, but it has been a very good experience on all counts.

my family member was on purée diet, which was a challenge, some days it was a 5 someday it was a 3. Comparing this place to a Inpatient facility I'm comparing them to [community name removed], I would say it's a 5 - remember my loved one was in their memory care wing. I had my sister-in-law at American house for 10 months. Due to her diagnosis, her medical condition changed from walking to bedbound and in hospice. If you have a family member that is a "wanderer" this locked unit is your best bet. A very small unit and typically staffed with two people. Our previous facility had 83 beds and she was constantly getting lost, and would get aggressive when staff would try to tell her she was in the wrong place. This locked unit inside American House has a lot less rooms to get lost in. They have a beautiful fenced courtyard that I would take her out just to get some fresh air and enjoy some sun. The Activities Director was an additional staff member, and she was caring, loving and attentive to all of the residents, even though some of them can become problematic. Overall, I would recommend this locked facility to anyone that has a wandering loved one.

The quality of the care services depends on the nurse. Some nurses are great and some don't give a care, but based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend American House to other families.

I think it's a great place for people who are able to care for themselves. There's lot of activities for those capable of participating. I think the apartment size is one of the best features of American House Troy.

Well, I am being well taken care of, and I have a lot of space in my apartment. I am provided with three meals, a day and medical care.

Just that they have a lot to offer and you need to take advantage of all they have to offer. The apartment size is nice and the staff is excellent.

Most staff is very friendly. Laundry is the biggest concern. Clothes are most always lost and she gets others clothes. Overall very nice place.

The activities on the memory care side get a 1/5. They're clean and the staff is very nice for the most part. The food in the memory care was terrible, but [name removed] also really needed to be on the regular side and the food probably would have been better there. If the had evaluated him sooner for the regular assisted living, he would probably still be there.

[name removed] is a delight to work with. The place has a warm and welcoming vibe that feels more like a home than an institution. Room sizes are comparable to other facilities, but the location in Bristol makes them a better value than in hotter markets like Asheville

For the most part American house was great. I have recommended it to several people . You don't have to worry much about your loved one while they are there. Be prepared to have some one stay there if your loved one has issues. It happened to my wife and sister when their mother had issues.

The staff is present. The new corporate management is responsive to email & phone calls. They hosted a family meal but ran out of food and did not have sufficient staff, seating, etc. They are now in management transition, and we are hoping for improvements.
