overall fairly nice. [name removed] was very helpful. currently remodeling. people are pretty friendly. the care services could up the regular care somewhat. staff is friendly. Need a few more though. the food could definitely improve. More than sandwiches for dinner. the activities could use some more activities. all of these places are overpriced. I would actually recommend this place over others.

All personnel were lovely. Gym, nice amenities with washer/dryer, full kitchen with dishwasher, screen room.

Great people work here. Great people also live here. A lot of positive energy in the building. The staff indeed do care for their residents, down from the office staff to the kitchen staff. Great clean environment

The day I moved in everything has been great. The staff is amazing, the food is good, The chef [name removed] is my favorite person. She always makes sure I’m good even when I’m having a bad day. I’m so glad me and my husband moved here at American House Sterling Woods.

I've been here since [year removed] and I like it most of the time. Something they can improve on is that I would like more variety with my food. I like the activities. The building is clean and we have a new bus!

Most of the staff has been wonderful. My husband does not participate in activities not able to. He has eaten all of his meals to my knowledge. I am pleased with the room size just wish they would sweep/vacuum more many times stuff all over the floor. One thing I wish they would fix is the door bell to get in memory unit does not work very much. I always have to run someone down to let me in. This is inconvenient.

Aunt is not crazy about the food and I know that's normal in most communities. When it comes to the care it just took them awhile to get her going with her shower schedule, but its finally getting better. I would recommend to others

Pros: They serve good food. The facility is always clean. They don't force participation, they just encourage it. They have a perimeter fence which keeps the residents from reaching the parking lot or road, keeping them safe. The people working there are very nice and positive. Cons: Sometimes when we come to her room, it seems like she hasn't left for a while. Sometimes it really smells and seems like they are not checking in on her for extended periods, making sure she is changing her undergarments/ using the bathroom.

I would give them a 4. They do a good job but we have to stay on them. I visit often. if I see moms hygiene isn't what it should be then I talk to the admin. and they will step it up and do better. Mom just graduated from hospice so we are still trying to work everything out with American House taking full responsibility. Overall it's a nice place.

I have lived here over 6 years and I am very satisfied. My husband and I moved here when he became ill. He was taken good care of until he passed away. I like the staff and have friends with the residents who live here. I plan to live here for the rest of my life.

Their nursing staff there is terrible. I had to move mom somewhere else for more care. Other than that I loved the place! As long as you don't have to hire the nursing care. I wish she were still there.

Overall, the staff has been very pleasant and the food is good. My dad is not an extrovert and had a hard time "fitting in" his first few weeks. It w/be nice if there were staff or residents to prompt him to attend activities and show him where they were located. You advertise Eucre, but only 1 or 2 people showed up. I stayed so they would have a 4th person to play. He got lost several times in the bldg since the 2 sides only connect on the 1st floor. A high level map of main rooms would help. We also had a billing issue the first month. Instead of reducing his monthly amount by the mid-month start and veteran's discount, they added it to his total. It was a good thing we had a few extra thousand in the checking or other auto payments and checks would have bounced. He is now "settling in" and is adjusting to his new living environment.

It's been a positive experience for my parents. My dad wishes the residents had more input in changes they are making that involve the residents way of life. He feels they need representation when high ups are involved. They seem to enjoy the food. Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. They don't do much when they're in there. [name removed] has been phenomenal to our entire family. There's been a big adjustment with the new director. Verdict is still out on her. They don't want to move.

What we like the most about the community is that the staff are very friendly and there are a lot of activities. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.

American House Spring Lake was clean and we'll maintained; however, meals were uninspired and often cold.

What I think other families should know before choosing American House Senior Living is that it truly felt like a community for my dad, not just a facility. The staff showed patience, compassion, and respect even during difficult health transitions. They kept me informed and made me feel like a partner in his care, which gave me peace of mind. I would encourage families to pay attention not just to the building or amenities, but to the people, because the caregivers and team are what make the difference. For us, it mattered that my dad felt seen and valued as a person, not just as a resident.- Thanks

The quality of the nursing CNA staff and facility overall. Yes I would recommend the community to other families, but would not rate the administration staff higher than a 3.

My mom has a one bedroom apartment with a balcony. It is nice she enjoys the balcony. Mom has memory problems and catheter. She has forgotten to go eat but my brother gave her an Alzheimer clock and she needs to turn off reminders. The dining room is good and the staff caters to the residents and tries to remember preferences. The family days are nice and our family has visited with mom. The entertainment and meeting each other is good. Mom was very sick and staff helped direct us to hospital. Mom tends to call me instead of using button which was a problem after hours.
