The apartment is good size with good layout for single occupant and good kitchen appointments. The food leaves a lot to be desired and they have had a couple health department troubles in the last 4 months, cleaning is supposed to happen every two weeks - this has been unreliable. There have been several days with no hot water. Rear facility doors are dilapidated and not ideal for individuals with mobility limitations

The staff is good although the activities director could be better as well as the activities. Things are slow to get fixed but eventually they get it done. The food is not good mostly but sometimes they get it right. Cleanliness is average. I have a two bedroom. I like the location of my apt except it's a little far from the laundry room for me to get my laundry there. It would be great to have a washer/dryer in my apt. I would look for a place that does but it would be more expensive and I can barely make ends meet now. Plus I have friends here.

The facility needs updating. the staff is very nice and helpful. When we interviewed, [Name Removed] stated that they had hired a new chef. Sadly to say, [Name Removed] states that the food is not very good. He likes breakfast, but dinner is hit and miss. We are having issues with the air conditioner unit. It is old and they scavenge parts from other units. Overall, it is a good facility, but it would benefit from upgrades in every area.

The breakdown towards my mom and them at the end I'm not sure who's fault it was everybody's or nobody's or what. But I would not recommend it, the food, the service. She was left two or three times waiting for appointments and the driver either left her or didn't show up. She was not happy there but she's not very happy. She was just so angry and unhappy and I wasn't around at that time so I don't know. But all the things I did do, you know finding her the place, moving her in there, the amount of times I had to go speak to them, I'd say a three. And the only reason I give him a three is because of the manager they had working there before, and this is between you and me. She quit and called me we had our personal cell phones had become kind of friends and she said boy the things they're changing. I'm going somewhere else. The meals changed and became worse, they had sandwiches in the afternoon or hot dogs it was just bad. Just time to go. I'd make the score lower if it hadn't been for the manager that was there and was so kind. But who has a driver that drives off and leaves people with appointments. It took me going up there and talking to the manager about it after it happened a couple times before anything happened. It was like nobody cared you were there sorry. But you know a lot of old people don't follow through on that kind of stuff and that's what they hope you know but when you got family you better watch those. The third floor was nauseating. You go up there and it's like where they have the people that need help and it smelled like bleach and death and stink I don't know how to explain it but it was just awful. We went up there once looking for coffee cuz of course it was out on her floor and definitely never went back.

Liked, friendliness of staff. Improvement, food.

Housekeeping is inconsistent and so is the quality of meals. Food sits in the dishes it's served in long enough to become hard. Some meals are too salty to eat. Having issues finding anyone to report issues too. No one seems to be in charge there except for the assisted living. This is the only place my mom can afford.

Overall experience I'm going to give a three, because they went off and left her twice for doctor's appointments downstairs. One day the guy didn't even show up. My mom didn't say anything when I called, management knew nothing about it. How can you have a driver no show for scheduled runs in the morning and nobody knows about it. Anyway, they double deducted her money once and I had to get on them about that. So I'm not real sure if someone living there her age has issues if anyone would catch them. The cleanliness is okay, I don't really see any issues. But the third floor smells awful. We went up there for coffee one day because her area was out and it's like a nasty hospital or something I don't know it was bad. She says the food is no good, I went there one day for lunch with her and we had hot dogs on bread with homemade chili and tater tots. The day we were there for our preview I asked her why in the world they were serving 70 80 and 90 year old people corn on the cob? I mean that's what we were served for lunch was Shepherd's pie, a roll, corn on the cob and a cookie. Seems like an awful waste to me. The staff member I originally dealt with has left, and only had poor things to say, but of course that would probably be expected. But she said none of the things that they had promised the residents or had been promised had happened with the new ownership so she moved on. Value for the money I'd have to say is probably pretty good cuz you get what you pay for right. Anyway, do what this is you like, she wants out of there, but I don't think she'd be happy anywhere. Oh one more thing I forgot, her smoke alarm didn't work for the longest time. The one in her kitchen I think I'm not sure. She called him and call them and finally the lady said you only need one smoke alarm in your apartment you'll be fine. Well she's 89 years old, and that is not the case. My husband is a firefighter, I called them and said you get in there and you fix that smoke alarm because of my mom has a fire in the kitchen and she's in the bedroom asleep number one she won't wake up and number two there's no way out. They fix the smoke alarm but again why have somebody else have to call when she's telling you my smoke alarms not working, over and over again. She knows now, just to tell me when something is wrong or needs to be handled and we'll get it done.

The price is good. They do not have video cameras around. You can't get a fried egg anymore. The staff are very friendly.

We had a negative experience, where management delayed the move-in by one day and that did not seem to get communicated internally to staff as a few department check-in didn't happen and we had to chase them down. There was a minor issue with the bathing facility that required follow up. But the biggest disappointments were the terrible views from the room and the lack of intellectual activities, which is why we are moving my mom out to a different facility.

It seemed like the right fit at first. But there seems to be issues that cannot be resolved. My sister and my brother have spoken to staff numerous times. We are still waiting for the cable to get connected Her dishwasher has yet to be replaced Issue with her key to her door and the door sticking. And recently there was an issue with her getting served in the dining hall. My sister and brother had to intervene and finally got that resolved for the dining hall....I believe We are still waiting on the other items. She gets late notices yet my sister had writes my mother's bills and delivers the check to the front. I really don't know what to think or which way to turn. My brother ended up having to do her shelf repair in her closet because it was sagging so bad and we asked that maintenance come up and they never did. Also my brother had to add shelves in her closet in the kitchen for food storage because they never did that either.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Quality of care hard to say as we didn't require much care. Meals and dining, nothing was bad but there was only 3 or 4 things that I looked forward to. Activities were varied but my husband wasn't very interested in participating. Value for cost, that's one of the reasons we moved back to the community we left in [date removed]. Assisted living is expensive no matter where you choose to live and the Meadows is no exception. I understand they are under new management so my comments are based on the previous management. I'm finding it less expensive to rent where we are and have even been able to contribute to our savings. We left the Meadows due to a coming increase of [fee removed]month increase in January and would have to start dipping into our savings.

Good leaves something to be desired I really feel they need a certified nutrition/cook, I think they also should have better security such as cameras in the resident hallways, keep the fall pendants instead of getting rid of them, finish the repairs they started.

We chose Springbrooke Senior Living because of the nice layout and the warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone is very nice and they try their best. I would recommend this facility to others.

Overall did not meet the expectations set by the administration. Did not take good care of my dad. Had to go in person to find out why they would not assist him back to bed for hours after he asked, why they would not allow him to have snacks if he didn't eat all of food at meals. Eventually he started refusing to get out of bed because no one would help him when he wanted to go back and he ended up getting a pressure sore from laying in bed so much. It was a bad fit and he is doing much better where he is now.

The place is no longer "assisted living" it is "senior living". I guess the staff is normal staff, just takes a few days-a week to get things fixed. They changed management. The cafeteria has apparently gotten so bad no one wants to eat there. Based off of our experience, I would not recommend Emerson South Collins to others looking.

My Mom lived at the Meadows from April 2022 to October 2023 when she passed. I live in Salt Lake City and always felt confident in the care that she was receiving. Her nurses and techs were kind and receptive to her needs. My issue has been the treatment of me and my family since her passing. We have been given the complete run around regarding a refund for the 2 weeks left in the month. I have had numerous conversations with multiple employees who said they would take care of the problem and nothing would be done. We have heard the check has been cut, the check has been sent, the check should have been taken care of by the old management company, etc. etc. It has been over six months now and we are being told there is nothing else they can do. I'm sure if we had taken this long to pay for my Mom's rent, she would have been evicted without question. We hope no one else has to have this experience.

Better for those who need less assistance. Those who need more will need a strong advocate. Lots of turnover in the kitchen. Beautiful facility. As far as the activities go - they need more options and variability. My Dad hated games like bingo-it was every week. They are currently working on making improvements.

For a simple individual like my father, it's a roof and it's fine.The maintenance is slow and sloppy, the meal options and service according to my dad is terrible and housekeeping is subpar.He appreciates the elevator and that's his apartment is right next to it. Facilities like this need larger bathrooms for wheelchair bound individuals.

The caregivers there are incredible yet understaffed. Often forced to work double shifts and it's tough to keep the good ones. Comfortable downstairs where the expensive units are but upstairs in the low rent district, it's.hot as heck in the hallways and within the seniors apartments. We all know how hot it gets in Houston. When touring, be sure to go upstairs. Again, the caregivers are phenomenal!!

For the most part this is a good community. The community can seem disorganized. There are times the staff say they will be right back and then never returns. The staff communication is good as long as the family is being proactive with our communication. There are three meals a day served to the residents. My loved one doesn't like the fact the community doesn't have fresh fruit in the morning. The food has a salty taste to it as well.
