We chose Emerson South Collins because of the affordability, the staff that I was introduced to during the tour, the food, and the activities provided. The meals here are chef prepared and she has been happy with them. They do send out newsletters for updates, but they do not put dates so that part can be confusing. I really like the opportunity for activities that they offer and the independence. They are a little slow when it comes to fixing things. Overall I would recommend them.

The staff were nice and committed. They decorated the community very nicely. I believe this was head and shoulders above the other communities I looked at. I am so glad we got to go Mackenzie Place. There was a problem we had was the medication distribution. The nurse didn't let me know that it was my responsibility to call the doctor. There was a break down between shifts and the administration team and the family of my loved one. The doctor never came to see my loved one during their stay in the community, until the very last day. I had to call the doctor myself to come and see my loved one. The doctor was very causal and was in his golf clothes. I thought this was unusual.

Cedarhurst was better than average until COVID-19 then the availability of food choices went down along with the quality of the food. I can now get a better burger at Wendys or McDonalds than here. When COVID-19 hit, even though its supposed to be Senior Living, I suddenly couldn't leave my apartment for most reason including going to the doctor unless I absolutely stated that it was medically necessary and then was quarantined for 14 days after each doctor visit. without choice. I have diabetes along with other medical conditions that require me to be physically seen by my doctor periodically so feel like I was being punished for taking care of my health. They don't enforce any mask wearing or other precautions among the residents but won't let outside people in without certain precautions. Unless you live here already, then you really don't have to do anything different as long as you stay within the building. Tired of being treated like a child when I am an adult and can take responsible care of myself. This is NOT assisted living or a nursing home or even Independent Living but a senior living facility with some perks to help live a more fulfilled life, or was. Everything is directed by offsite management that is based in nursing home care.

I would say that if your family member has needs that do not require extra level of care, be sure that you check in on them yourself. We chose this community because my mother liked the looks of the place. It was clean, comfortable, and offered lots of activity but mostly she liked in because it didn't appear to look like an old nursing home. She loved the food and said it was very good.

This community was smaller and the residents seemed older and less responsive than others I had seen at another community . The facility was built in the early 90's and the cabinetry looks dated. The rooms are mostly the studio set up and are very small.

Parent did not want to look due to some friends review. [Name removed] was very friendly on phone, but at this time not interested.

Overall experience was ok, Food was not great.. only a few Wonen took part in the activities.. Only received assistant if ask personally. Not enough care takers for amount of people living there...

While looking at various options for my loved one, this facility needed a little more updating to me. When we went to tour the area they even mentioned that they will do some updating. The place didn’t necessarily have the same kind of feeling of “home” like the other communities that we went to tour.

I toured this community and [Removed] was very nice and knowledgeable. But I didn't like it it was really old and dirty to me. It needs updating and some TLC. The apartments were small and had no stove in them. It reminded me of an old folks home.

I did not get a good feeling when I visited this community. We toured on a weekend day and the community did not seem very active. The owner I spoke to was nice. I just did not think this would be the right place for my loved ones.

I toured this community for my mother, and her needs. My tour went well overall. The staff I came across was kind, and polite. The community appeared to be well maintained. It was a pleasant experience, but I didn't feel this was the facility for my mother.

this is a nice facility and the only one that offered cookies at the end of a very full day. The units were a nice size and the person from the cleaning staff was very friendly.

It seems as though this community is a little understaffed. They have gone through a lot of personnel changes. They seem unorganized and it has not been a good experience for my loved one or the family. They have not been able to accommodate my loved one's dietary needs. They do offer some activities and the place is very clean.

Although I liked the facility, I do not want to settle here due to the unscheduled up's and down's of the rates.

We are having issues with the maintenance and housekeeping staff.My mother-in-law asked for a week for them to defrost her freezer. They told her yesterday they defrosted it but it is still full of ice. There seems to be a lack of consistency with the care. I think they should be more straightforward with me and receptive to concerns.

This looked like a nice community when we visited. This community is larger than what we were looking for. Mom's room would of been located at the far end of the building. The people we met were fabulous. They did want a fee up front that we were not able to provide.

I like Grayson Place, overall. Am having some issues with staff acting like we (family members) are bothering them when we ask for certain things. We have also had issues getting my Dad's menu correct because of swallowing problems. The Director is really nice, but seems overwhelmed.

My dad is no longer at this community. I feel the communication can be improved. I thought they were going to take over his medications and watch his diabetes. With a misunderstanding they said he can do it himself. They weren't monitoring him well enough and his numbers were very high. However the community is a clean environment and he was eating very good.

I had a tour of this community and I did not like what I saw. I felt there was not enough staff in the community. It seemed like the staff did not enjoy their job and didn't show that they cared.

We toured this community for mom. The staff seemed to be able to answer the questions we had for care. The community was nice and clean. The menu seemed appealing, but not what my mom wanted. Families should tour before that make a decision on care for a loved one.
