12 Oaks Senior Living

First thing is a BIG thank you to the entire staff of Broadmoor Place for helping transition my mom into her assisted living apartment. She has moderate dementia & was living with myself & husband for 7 mos in a new home we just built for us all. Needless to say, hard as we tried , it did not work. Mom was very unhappy & angry about losing her independence, not able to drive anymore & managing her meds. Her memory was becoming more of an issue as well. We ultimately made the decision with her MD to move mom into a senior apartment with people her own age and similar conditions. She is very happy now and has lots of friends to visit with daily. Broadmoor provides, 3 meals per day plus , cleaning of rooms once a week, & activity coordinator for daily events. The director, manager & staff are super nice and go out of their way to make their residents feel at home. We highly recommend Broadmoor Place as an assisted living facility.

When dad passed, mom was very worried about where she would live. I was very worried as well. After a few weeks of adjusting, she loves the place. She has now been there for almost two years. She brags about how good the meals are. She loves all the activities that are offered. All the staff is awesome from the executive director all the way down.

When we had to move my great grandmother in, we knew that Broadmoor Place was it! The Comunity Relations Manager made us feel so welcomed and gave us a peace of mind while on our tour. The staff is absolutely amazing and the facility is very comfortable and beautiful!

Dad was here after an injury. They were great about communication and took great care of him. The food, however, wasn't great. Portions were small and It seemed like budget restraints were causing them to use a lot of canned and processed food. Dad didn't like it, but he's also very picky so that's part of it. They had a great variety of activities. The Executive Director is fantastic. They appeared to be short staffed and it never really effected us directly, but it seemed like the staff was working extra hard with minimal extra help. They really did a great job here. Everyone was very happy and friendly. I would recommend them to friends and family.

The Atrium is a good place to live. The atmosphere here is open and friendly. The design of the building adds to that, hence the name- The Atrium. It's a 7 story building and there are 2 sections in between with glass elevators. All of the apartment hallways open up to the atrium. One of the comforts to us is that if we get sick we don't have to move to another facility, we can stay here and move from Independent Living to Assisted Living. I've seen that side and heard a lot about it and it's all been good things. The food in the middle of a transition, so I rated that a little lower. That's probably the biggest problem that we've had here, the menu change from the food service that the facility uses. It hasn't gone well, but they're slowly but surely improving it. The overall quality of the food is quite good, salads are good, and the soup is to die for. I don't go a meal without also having soup. The Tomato Bisque is the best! There's always dessert and a soup of the day. There are so many activities and things to stay busy (book club, bridge group etc) and outings to the casino, to the dog park with our pets, and to other local places (Louisburg Cider Mill, Men's Day out/lunch at Hooters, etc). Whatever is going on around town, there's usually a planned trip/busing available to attend the event. I feel very welcomed and appreciated here. The staff knows us by name and make it a point to be familiar with us. In the mornings, they'll watch the glass elevators and see who is coming down to dining. They know us and what we like and they have our preferences ready for us (coffee or tea made how we like it, etc). Our apartment is really nice. The building used to be a hotel, but they converted it nicely to Independent and Assisted Living. It's quiet and we don't hear noise from our neighbors. They have plenty of parking and allow pets. They decorate beautifully for holidays. It's affordable, also. Before moving here, my husband and I still had a mortgage. That said, it's still more cost effective for us to live here than it was to live at home WITH our mortgage. This community is a good mix of mostly Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish faiths and residents are open and respectful to all. We have 3 residents whom are Priests and have daily Mass. Even from our tour, the atmosphere of this facility really stuck out to us. Residents are active/interactive and open minded. I'm an extrovert and my husband is not, but it's a great fit for both of us which is really great! I have and will continue to recommend them to family and friends. I'd also like to add for others, during your search don't be afraid to negotiate cost with any place. There's always room for negotiation, especially with moving 2 residents in versus one, activity fees, and monthly specials. A filled apartment is much more profitable than a vacant one. It's a business when it comes to cost and you have to approach it as such.

The main things that stood out to us about this facility are: washer/dryer in the units, Garages, lots of bridge (significantly more). The residents were incredibly friendly, the size of the facility is comfortable for my mother in law - not too big! We strongly recommend this facility to others. The food is very good and the residents here are just fantastic!!!!!

We chose Emerson South Collins because of the convenient location to me and the value for the money as well. Others we looked at were much more expensive, so we were very grateful for the price, [name removed] who handles the activities is really really good. She is interested in providing things for the residents to have to do. She has a lot of variety and I am very pleased with her and what she has done. I would recommend to others looking.

Every time that I walk into Broadmoor Place, I feel like I am home! The residents appear relaxed and happy, and there is always something going on for them to do, if they choose! The Executive Director and other staff take personal interest in the care of their residents! I wouldn't hesitate in sending my loved ones to Broadmoor Place!!

Broadmoor Place has been a Godsend for my father. Staff is excellent--starting with the wonderful director and on down--who take the time to know each resident and personalize their care. Facility is small and feels homey and cheerful. Dependable care: I can now leave town for a few days and not worry about my dad.

Our mom at the young age of 92, entered Broodmoor Place in June of 2022 after living by herself for 5 years after our dad passed away. This was not an easy transition for her to make! From day 1, the whole staff at Broadmoor Place welcomed her and the whole family with loving arms and BiG smiles every time we visit. As a family we have felt at peace with the move for mom and know that she is going to be taken care of with the utmost respect and treated with love and kindness. Words can’t express the gratitude we have for the staff at Broadmoor Place.

I would like to recommend Broadmore Place to anyone needing a place for your love one to stay. The community relations director is amazing. She was and is so informative and kind. She made the transition very easy. The staff is so caring and considerate. I feel very comfortable knowing my mother is being taken care of there by such fine people who I believe truly care about the residents.

All the people are very friendly. The community relations manager answered all our questions and was very helpful. The place was very clean and nice. I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a loved one

Based on our tour, my impression was that the facility was open and spacious, and it had round/circular layout. It was in more of a residential area close to highway, which was not our preference. But overall, it was a nice facility.

The facility was nice. The people were super freindly. I just wasn't too fond of the location.

We decided on Mackenzie Place over others that we toured because it is a smaller community, when we were walking through it appeared that the employees enjoyed their jobs, and also all of the residents were out and about and not just hanging out in their rooms. The facility has a very homey atmosphere to it. They are pet friendly as well. I would absolutely recommend Mackenzie Place to others.

The people and the residents is nice.

Mackenzie Place is a wonderful facility. It's very clan and I really like it over there, I don't feel I have to worry about them anymore. It's a locked unit, so my mom and dad can't go as they please. Knowing that allows me to sleep at night, because my mom is in a wandering state. They have a great activities director; some of their activities include bingo & bango, which they play all the time, arts & crafts, puzzles, card games, noodle ball, concerts at least once or twice per month, and a weekly exercise class five days out of the week. I've actually been to one of the exercise classes and she really does a great job with them.

The care here is unmatched. This place gives families the peace of mind that their loved one will be safe. It has great food and fun activities all throughout the day. I highly recommend The Meadows at Escalante!
