Viva Senior Living

We chose this place for my mom because it is very close to where we live and we can visit a lot. They seem to provide the most value for the price, there are nicer places but they were a lot more expensive. I toured four other homes before deciding on this one for my mom.

It has been a little over a year since we started living separate lives. [name removed] on the inside and me on the outside. In general I try to stay out of the staff's way. They are generous to a fault. Thus a 41/2 score to them. They deal with angry outbursts, try to keep the patients dry and clean and give hugs freely. Finding enough staff is a problem.( my opinion) These patients seem to prefer routine. Food. Is a continual thing of interest. To me it would only rate a 3. Repetitive, cold sandwiches for many lunches. The Physical plant is kept clean and does vary by unit. Example: one unit has carpet while another has only tile.

What we like the most about the community are the friendly staff and the many activities they have. We would recommend this community to other families however ask a lot of questions

Great location for me. Satisfaction with PCP visitation and communication. I appreciate the varied daily menu. Several of the RN and staff knows how to get the best from Mom and others need some work/strategies to implement while working with my mother.

Staff is friendly meals are pretty good. They notify me of issues when they come up. Room size is average of all places I visited. Cleanliness is probably a 4 out of 5. Fair amount of activities for residents.

It feels more like home than some of the other places. Most of the staff seem to really care. Yes, we would recommend Oak Pointe of Neosho, a Viva Community to other families.

My family member was at Viva for a 60 day respite stay following surgery and a long Rehab. [name removed] has lots of activities for the residents and they always include the family while visiting. We met many nice people, staff and residents. They always strive to do better with meals and staffing. PT and OT were excellent! He is now at home living independently thanks to them. [name removed] , the Director and [name removed] and [name removed] from activities go over and beyond their responsibilities!

We had the roommates daughter complained to us because my mom was using her mom's hand towels. We've never were asked to bring hand towels to the facility. It was just miscommunication otherwise we are very happy with the facility. Mom says the food is good. And I think [name removed], the activities director is fantastic. It is a clean and friendly place as well.

The people there genuinely care and do their very best. They are patient, kind and attentive. As for growth areas, they need to do a better job with cleaning and maintenance and with keeping to the posted activity schedule. Sometimes things are posted that never actually happen.

BR is a lovely warm, friendly place. The staff and resident are warm and helpful. We do tend to help each other and other at the apts. The physicals are friendly and supportive. The kitchen staff are very helpful.

Closest to home. I would recommend to others.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The apartments are suitable. Amenities are varied.

Nobody's perfect, but The staff is helpful, having eaten the food it's not bad, the apartments are of average size. Overall we are satisfied.

Overall very satisfied with the community, The cafeteria could use a little help as far as getting residents to come together and not be so clicky.

Considering NUMEROUS factors & ratings / personally talking with staff members ( very pleasant staff ) / admin organization / and privately talking with individuals that are residents--- / cleanliness/ activities/ food nutrition & prep .... And personally a additional MAJOR factor for me was that the Facility bldg. Itself HAD to look a certain way - in order for my brother to be accepting of it ..... But from everything that I have seen and experienced so far preliminary/ and now 3 wks into my brother moving into the facility-- he appears to like it and is transitioning and adapting very well to the new surroundings and people

Viva staff are friendly and responsive (usually quickly showing up after Mom activates call button around her neck). I had many meals ranging from very good through typical to not good, as would be expected. Of the activities Mom has learned and loved is Noodle Ball using the noodle swimming floats and a balloon. Her apartment is larger than what it looked like in its picture. Although not everything had been unpacked, the book shelve, small bed, small dresser, and tall storage closet that were added did not make the room feel uncomfortable.

They appear to be short-staffed as is common these days. Also, they can administer meds but do not change bandages for the residents, which seems out of line to me. Apts are nice and roomy and location is good .

It is a small facility and that is what we like. He's doing well there. It is a hard decision and I think that families have to make that decision themselves. My father in law seems to be happy with the food. The Nursing staff are lovely but I think the turn around on help is often.

The staff at Viva is great! The activities seem to keep the residents happy most of the time. Food could be better, I understand that they need to feed multiple people at one time but the menu could be better. Both of our parents live there together. We made sure there were a number of men there before we committed to this facility to make sure dad would have other men to relate to.

The staff at The Terrace seems caring and they do a good job. I like that there is usually something going on in the main living room area -- music, or an activity -- that gives the place a lively energy.
