Vitality Living

The facility is very clean and modern. I didn't detect any foul odor. The staff that I met was friendly and professional. If I ever find myself in need of assisted living, I will pursue admittance.

The staff is wonderful and so helpful during our move in; everyone seems to be smiling all the time! They have lots of fun activities and everyone is looking forward to go on outings this spring; the brand new renovated interiors are beautiful and very tasteful. It's also nice to have a little "mini" activity room on almost every floor with different activities - one for board games (new, high quality), another for puzzles, a library, an artist studio, etc.

When moving in, it was definitely a 1. As of today, I would rate it a 4. When mom first moved in, her apartment was not cleaned. This grouse in the shower and one in floor was filthy. Also, the linoleum was very dirty as well. I cleaned it up and definitely shouldn't have been the person who did it. Her grout had to be cleaned professionally since it was so dirty. After we cleaned everything, she seems to be doing well. The facility is beautiful and staff are very friendly. We loved what we saw when entering the building and meeting the staff...

It’s a nice facility but I’m not at that stage of assisted living. My tour guide did an excellent job. Thank you for your time and patience

Nice, caring staff; good food, busy activity schedule. Super nice special events. In house physical therapy. Helpful transportation schedule.

They seem short staffed during evening hours on weekends. They often run out of optional choices on the menu. Portions are small and refills aren't offered on beverages unless resident holds up arm with glass. We worry that our dad doesn't get enough hydration because he doesn't drink a lot outside of dining. Activities are awesome for those who take part; however, our dad doesn't participate. We wish he could become more engaged. Note: our dad is in assisted living in his own studio apartment. He's not quite ready for memory care. He's doing well and seems to be stable and maintaining in terms of his health and memory. The daily meals and routine have helped immensely with his situation vs. living alone. We are grateful for this. Our only issue is really with him: He refuses help with showers or baths which are supposed to be included twice a week as part of his care plan. We (and the staff) have been unsuccessful in convincing him to allow help with this. This continues to be a big concern for our family, because we do not think he's adequately washing up or remembering to do so. He becomes hostile and yells when staff tries to get him to shower while they are in standby. This is our only issue. He's only taken one supervised shower since he moved in this past September. We talked about this at every monthly meeting with nursing staff. They have tried without forcing, with no success. Family has tried reasoning with him to no avail. It seems he is fighting for this last bit of independence. Sink baths (if they're happening at all) is all he is getting. Towels, washcloths and soap seem unused so we are doubtful. Otherwise, his apartment is clean and tidy and his laundry is done weekly.

People, including the tour guide were kind and friendly. The tour guide even stayed late one evening to accommodate me not being able to drive so I had to have a relative bring me. I thought that was really special. The place was neat and clean and homely enough. I appreciated the larger rooms for storage, although the kitchenette was small. The tour guide says the staff would wash any dishes in the sink if we would like and also do the laundry. Small place for two people, nice enough but furniture looked a little "worn". A slight smell of urine or old folks on the main hall way on the first floor just noticed around three rooms or so. The halls were quite long. Bright, light colors and pretty dining room. Just didn't seem to suit my personality altho I loved the pond/stream outside!!!!

They are very easy to work with at Vitality. Any concerns are addressed immediately. Staff all seem to have a lot of patience with the residents. They are actually trained in memory care which was not the case in the last facility.

I think the room size is really good for her. Her cleaning lady is great. She is very friendly and accommodating to my mom. My mom complains about the food being cold all the time. I ate there once with her and I enjoyed my meal. My mom is allergic to some type of foods and they have given her something more than once that she shouldn't have. We are not happy with that since we had to take her to urgent care one time because of that. I called a [name removed] the head of the kitchen a couple times and left a message and she never returned my calls. My sister has spoken with some of the staff though. I will give the place a 4 but kitchen a 1. My mother enjoys the Bingo. That is all she has done so far with the activities.

Their activities director in the memory unit is fabulous! To note, though, the caregivers that are supposed to follow through with activities outside of the director's work hours don't always do that. Some of the caregivers could use education from the Therapy team in terms of how to best assist and cue the residence with mobility and ADLs. I think the residents could do a lot more, or keep doing a lot more if staff had more of such training. The unit and overall building is clean, well lit, and cheerful. Laundry gets done individually and regularly. Except for from the activities director, you need to hunt down, and sometimes ask multiple times about your loved one's medical/health/medication care and to get certain things done or to find out that things are not getting done. They do a fabulous job at getting your loved one to appointments and being there to pick them up to return them to Vitality.

They are extremely friendly and helpful and make you feel like family. I highly recommend Vitality Living Franklin for your loved ones.

I’m not having good luck in my viewing of future homes. My first viewing was short due to my driver getting wrong information of pick up time. Because of that, I missed lunch and the residents were down for naps. I’m looking forward to honest remarks about the facilities I visit. My next encounter was by Zoom which was presented by a very knowledgeable and pleasant young man. I, however, lack understanding of dimensions and so didn’t get a good feel of the place. My visit at Vitality, was lovely, but was short due to an unforeseen event and so once again I missed the feel of the residents. I must say that seeing the lovely two bedroom apartment made me want to move in right away. One of past events, which was wine tasting made me feel like the staff may have what I would like to experience. I was also told that there is a great place for watching the sunset. My guide was very informative and it was pleasant to be in her company. I look forward to more research into this property.

We are happy with Vitality. Sometimes activities are cancelled so that is why no 5. I would recommend it

What we like the most about the community is that they keep good care of my mother. Yes, we would recommend the community to other families based on the experience so far.

The food is not good, should be better. The staff is wonderful for the most part. The nursing/med tech staff could be a little more organized, they still haven't straightened Mom's pills out and we are paying extra for med management. The setting is beautiful and the activities are plentiful. Mom had some problems with arranging transportation for Drs appointments. Sonata advertises that they offer transport to appointments but if their vehicle breaks down you are asked to pay out of pocket for another transportation service.

The staff have been AMAZING. Warm, Kind and Welcoming!!! Love everyone I have met so far. Always available to talk or be there to listen! Activity Director for Memory care, [name removed], is such a force!!! She is truly one of a kind!!!! The memory care is kept BUSY!!! The food is average at best and a continual complaint from my mom.
