Vitality Living

Vitality Court Texas Star is a very nice facility. But I felt like it was too big for dad. I felt like he would have gotten lost even in just the memory care section. And it was a bit on the pricey side. They charge extra for added behaviors, so it is harder to budget.

The Hearth at Franklin is mostly very good but they seem to suffer from ongoing staffing shortages. This has affected the availability and consistency of any extra care my mom has needed beyond medication management. The facility could use additional maintenance.

The resident rooms were smaller at Vitality Living Arlington than at the place we chose. But other than that, I thought it was great. I just preferred a location that was closer to me and less congested. Vitality Living was right in the city, with more traffic and a more difficult parking situation.

This is my aunt's second Vitality facility that she has been in. She was not happy in the first and loves Vitality Living Hudson. She says she has lots of friends and there is so much to do. She also loves the woods view off her deck.

The community is very close to our family which makes visiting very convenient - that was a deciding factor for us. Even though our loved one does not always participate in the activities we appreciate how encouraged the staff members are to our loved one. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend Vitality Living to other families.

The staff and management at Vitality are all very friendly and very responsive to both the residents and the family members. The only reason I didn't give a five star overall rating is because of my loved one's higher care needs. If somebody has a loved one with fewer care needs who is a little more self-sufficient, Vitality can definitely handle it and stay on top of everything.

It is a typical assisted living home. The facility is older, but I know that they are planning on remodeling it eventually. They were just recently bought out by another company. Just like anywhere else right now they have some staffing shortages. The food is many times cold when it is served. Overall there are just some improvements they could make.

We chose Traditions of Mill Creek because of the convenience to my home. Also the needs that my dad required - they were able to accommodate him whereas some of the other places we looked were not. The nursing staff was really sweet. My dad passed there and the nurse on staff that day was very kind to our family. I know it is hard to get help these days but that is true everywhere. The nurses and everyone were great though. I would recommend to others looking.

We chose Vitality Living Arlington primarily because of the location, it is walking distance from everything and they also offer a free taxi service that my dad really likes. It is in a nice and elegant setting - the architecture of the building is very nice. My dad has big bay windows in his room so he gets a lot of natural light. For the most part everyone has been very friendly. We would recommend the facility to other families looking.

Free movers was a big plus. [Name removed] helped us with some discounts. Mom kept seeing some small insects on the first floor but after a move to the 3rd floor we no longer see any insects. It would be nice if they offered some type of worship service other than catholic. Mom is a Baptist. I feel overall it has been good for Mom to live at Vitality. She's doing much better now than when she lived alone.

Our family had an in person tour and even though the staff were very informative and courteous it was just not going to fit our loved ones needs.

I am not sure that the community was prepared for the type and level of care my loved one was going to need. The staff were very nice. My loved one fell several times during their stay here. This is no fault of the community. I believe the community tried their best for my loved one during their stay here.

The staff is pretty good. My loved one seems to likes the food, and participates in some activities. The value for the money seems to be okay. My only concern is, there is an emergency delay in the bathroom, when the string is pulled. I feel that they should come right way, which is implementing safety precautions for the elderly people.

It's a very clean environment. Everyone is friendly. The staff is very responsive. It is good value for the money. It's a beautiful facility, with tons of activities that is offered. They connect very well with my loved one, and other residents. Overall, it's a very nice community.

I had a good impression of Vitality Living Milton. It was just expensive, and they didn't have a room available when we needed it. Their senior staff was nice. Their food preparation was good, and they had lots of choices on the menu. The woman who gave the tour had her own mother living there, which says a lot.

The people are just wonderful here, the workers and the people themselves are very friendly. The staff are very nice and will do mostly anything for you. They are very good, they're nice people. I did fall in the middle of the night and one of the aides came first after I pulled the chain. Then a nurse came and patched me up before she called the EMTs. It was pretty quick for me although I've heard pretty bad stories about those in wheelchairs who need to be wheeled down and back to meals. They'll leave them sitting there for an hour, they need more help and more aides. When it comes the nurse in response of falls, I've heard of some people waiting an hour for that as well. This is after the button is pushed or the chain is pulled, which is not good because they don't know how badly a person could be hurt. If a person has a stroke, immediate response can make a huge difference in how you will be later on. One lady was sitting in the hallway and I asked if I could move her, she said no I couldn't, but she had been there for 45 minutes - but again they need more help and more aides. Sometimes the meals are good, but sometimes they are not. Yesterday we had a meeting called "food for thought" and a few of us spoke about some of the dishes that we didn't like. One of the resident at my table ordered a meal that came with potato salad and their version of potato salad is laughable. It seems that they get a little carried away with spices that don't belong. Activities include different things at the same time, and I get some people have different interests. Since they overlap, if you want to go to both you have to pick and choose. They said we were going to play shuffleboard, but we ended up with a tabletop shuffleboard - which isn't quite the same. I'm hoping they fix the shuffleboard courts because they aren't in good condition. The activities director mentioned something about cleaning them, but it's going to take more than that. Overall I am very happy here, despite the fact the food isn't always that great. The reason why I picked this community right off the bat was because of the recommendations and things people have said about it, also the location was close to where I used to live. I've ben here a couple months and I like it a lot and I'd tell anyone who asks me that it is expensive, but you do get what you pay for.

We had a good tour at Traditions of Smyrna. We ended up not choosing them because we had familiarity with another community through a family member who had stayed there. And in the end, that worked out because Traditions couldn't accept my loved one due to her physical condition.

It was an easy process. Everybody there was very friendly and welcoming. The facility had a rustic feel to it like a ski lodge, which I liked. It was always clean when I would go to visit. The daily care my loved one received was great. And one time when she had a cut on her hand, they took care of it promptly and properly. They also offered a lot of activities.

I toured Traditions of Smyrna and it didn't feel as homey or friendly. That may have been because we didn't run into many residents or staff. At other communities we saw that the staff knew passing residents by name, but we didn't get that feeling here. It could have been an off day or they could have been napping during lunchtime. We chose another community because of the setting here. They had construction going on, so with a memory care patient looking out of the window it might not be a relaxing or enjoyable view for a memory care patient.

he staff is usually nice but their turn around of employees is fast. The employees come and go it seems as soon as everyone gets used to them. The meals are horrible. My mom is diabetic and every meal and option has pasta noodle or sandwiches. When she first got there in [date removed] all meals were included in the rate. Now if she wants dinner then she has to pay [fees removed] extra a month. They serve sandwiches 85% of the time for dinner. The meals don't change but my mom said the kitchen staff is always different. they are the cheaper of the places around my house so that she is closer to me. Other than the food I would recommend it under the old management [name removed], however he has left and someone new is in charge so it's very hard to say right now. I would put recommend and hopefully it stays that way under new management.
