I did not have a good first impression of this community, when I first arrived for my tour I had noticed there was a huge table in the front of the lobby that was very old and looked like it was falling apart. I would think they would want something nice and well put together to represent the rest of the facility. The entire building needed lot of updating and new furniture.

Settlers Place is a very friendly place to stay. The room was nice. The food was very good. Promises of the brochure was not met. My father never had a tv in his room nor the laundry was never picked up. We did his laundry. Besides the 2 complaints Settlers is a nice place to stay. I ended up calling Comcast myself and was told a phone call was never made for my dads television to be hooked up. I never will understand that. They told me they reached out to Comcast.

I was not very impressed with this community during our tour, the apartments did not seem very vibrant and there was not enough natural light throughout the bedroom. The rest of the building seems to be needing a lot of updating and renovations.

Since moving my mother-in-law into this community there has been changes. They are now under a new company and now there are new people and they are not getting communication about things we need.

The tour guide was knowledgeable, he was able to explain everything very well to me. The community has a beautician on site and are pet friendly. The rooms were presented to me they looked very clean and organized. I did not feel a warmth of the community during my tour. Unfortunately i couldn't feel like my loved one would have been able to feel like living at home.

He was there for about 2 to 3 weeks. He was there temporarily until he recuperated after then he came home with us. The facility was very clean and the staff was very friendly. They provided good care services.

We have an active 81 year old there that needs better activities. She would like to have bridge where as they have someone come in and read the newspaper to them. The director is fabulous. There's no place for them to go and be outside, everything is inside. They need a deck so they could go out. The staff is wonderful.

More food selection is needed. The cook needs to do a better job on soup. Staff is very attentive and caring. Too much chicken and turkey. Too often processed meat is terrible. Cranberry sauce is needed on food products. This is cranberry country you know!!!

Building is nice, looks clean well kept. Room seemed small, just was not a fit for us.

Our experience with Kingswood Place has been ok. Not great, but not terrible. The place is nice, but a little dated. My mother did not like the food there. She also had a fall at one point and I was not entirely satisfied with how they handled it.

Took awhile to get care straightened out. Tolieting, dressing, bedtime help. The night shift needs more people not enough help. Response time for help to long like getting on and off. Sometimes 10 minutes. have told them about these things slow getting problems taking care of. Food quality not so good i heard a lot of complaints about it being bland, and not so tasty. But things are slowly improving. I think hiring more help would cut down on wait times.

Davenport Place is a good place for what it does. It has very limited actual care for its' clients. It is not a locked down facility so those with memory care issues are not well attended here. It does have a caring crew of people. It is clean and the management is easy to work with.

Way too expensive. Very nice, but not real affordable.

Only 5 staff remain 3 new directors, RN, cooks, couldn't tell you how many personal service attendants. I don't learn their names by the time they pass through. Many appear good to me - (as an old professional USA bedpan pusher) Only got wrote up once - in close closet - Packet too tight - too closer than 18" from, sprinkler on top shelf - full length of shelf.

I toured this facility before signing up with A Place for Mom. The facility is clean, no odors noted. However, I was unsettled by the fact that a resident, on the second floor, was trying to go to her apartment to use the bathroom,(someone was coming with a key), and the person providing me with the tour, told the resident she would tell someone to assist her to get into her apartment and use the bathroom. We went downstairs and into the small dining/conference room, talked for a while longer, and she never told another staff member the resident was still waiting to get into her apartment. I won't be looking at this place any further, for my mom.

Mom spent three short weeks there Love the people loved the meals and thought the place was beautiful. She has dementia. She needs help bathing and assistance dressing...she can dress her self just needs someone to lay out clothes and a little help. But somehow no one noticed that her legs were extremely swollen. They were red and when we got their nurse to check her she also had infection in her right leg......they called her Dr. for instructions. The next morning I got a call that Mom had been taken to the ER in extreme pain in her legs. I found that the legs were not wrapped per Dr. instruction. It takes days to reach this condition. We found her a home because we can not personally provide 24 hour care. The home is expensive and they have added over a thousand dollars to the statement for personal care.....Mom is still in the hospital. Four days now. My opinion still awaits for their reaction and solution to this issue.

This was the first place I saw. They talked a good game, but I didn't think it was very clean and I felt like what they were telling me was maybe-so. I didn't like the way the rooms were -pretty junky. It looked like no one really seemed to care how to they looked aesthetically. Stuff was just stacked in a corner. The room that I looked at was jumbled. If it was a smaller place and they had good personal care, that would have been great, but I didn't see none of that going on when I was there. They had a class going when I was leaving, but when I came nothing was happening. Activities probably happen, but not on any sort of regular basis. She wouldn't have been happy there. Too much stuff was out of place. I wouldn't want to live in a place like this!

Very dark inside. The main areas were not clean: soda cans and crumbs on the large dining table; food spilled on the menus; and an odor of urine when I came through the entrance. The staff was friendly and tried to accommodate my needs.

That was okay. We moved mom there simply to rehab from a broken leg. The care was adequate. My mom was the best memory wise and relationship wise (compared to the other residents) and you don't want that. The meals would be one hour before service. I don't know why, maybe they were lazy or something but they would get all the residents in and then it would be another hour before they ate. That was a conintuing problem. Mom recovered at Bickford from her broken leg.

will not work for us. Very nice place. Must have care and housing billed as one.
