We chose this community because is was affordable and close to my dad's friends and church. But if your loved one needs a higher level of care, they don't do a good job of it. They were really great on the "front end" with the move in, getting him accepted, and helping him get settled. But on the "back end", the care wasn't good. After my dad passed away, I gave the required 30 day notice and moved his things out, but they still wouldn't refund the deposit charged me for an additional month, and did not adhere to the contract.

Clyde Gardens Place gave a good first impression, but was misleading. Problem areas developed during the two-year period my parent lived there. There was minimal apartment maintenance, no activity director for approx. 1 1/2 years, and the private room reportedly available for families to meet was turned into an office for staff. That leaves a lounge, but most residents sat in chairs on both sides of the hallway when you first enter the building. There was no hair salon and outings were extremely rare. - Staff was friendly and rooms were large.

[Name removed] was friendly, quite talkative. Nice place, more like nursing home of 3 I toured. Lowest base rate, but had point system for needs, making Gran a level II at the start, increasing cost to more than others already.

[name removed] at the front desk is always so helpful and smiling! She is real professional and always has a positive attitude. It’s so cheerful to be greeted by someone like her!

My aunt went to Bickford for a 30 day respite stay. She had been in skilled nursing for 12 weeks following a car crash and needed to get some strength back. We went in thinking she would be there 6 months or so, but she did not want to stay. She did rehab there and was able to move to independent living. She was promised a lot but was very disappointed and felt lied to. I believe they were not equipped to handle the care required for her injuries. For instance she was not supposed to get up without assistance and yet the general staff decided she could, even though the rehabilitation staff said no. We were there constantly checking up on her and did not feel comfortable letting her be alone. We also had medication issues that caused a lot of stress on the family. If your loved one can assist themselves it might be fine, but I do not recommend this facility if they need extra care.

The rate we were quoted was $6500.00 That lasted 2 months. We were told my brother needed more care and the price went up to $10,500 for the next three months= We moved my brother. If he was going to need that much more care. I wonder why they couldn't determine that when they visited him before he was moved to Fairfield Place.

The care residents receive here has gone down hill from the opening until present time. My father has been long term resident. I have seen staff come and go including management, and ownership of company. As dads health has started to decline and he does less for himself I see the nurses are over worked and there is not enough aides to give residents the care they need. Many of the residents could be in a nursing home and get better care. Prices have gone up considerable since opening. Promotions are not offered to long term residents, and I never see new assessments being done with my dad. Food is not good, laundry service is not good, house keeping has also gone down hill. When I visit dad I see alot of staff standing around.

Very nice facility. [name removed] was great and spent a lot of time answering our questions. However they only had studio apts. open at that time. My parents would require a one bedroom facility. However as they are still looking at options, we'll keep them under consideration if something changes.

Improving under new management. Biggest downside is staff. Activities director needs to spend more time planning events so residents will have fun. They have so little to look forward to . Senior nursing staff is unprofessional + uncaring at times. Response time to calls from residents is awful! CNAs have sloppy appearance and always complaining. Residents need a walking path around the premises and access to outdoor patio.

Tables always neat/clean napkins/cloth. Dinning room: coffee serving_refill slow. Food: mostly good. Cleaning: Fair. Staff: sometimes demeaning, caring could have better response after fire alarm/cause.

Easy to get around in this facility. Is in process of being renewed inside and very comfortable surroundings. Concerned over level of care. i.e. only 12 hour nursing and no set visits by a Dr.

This is a nice community. They stay in the independent living. The aides come in and help with showers and they seem nice. I think the nurse isn't giving my loved one her medicine at the correct times. And we haven't received a follow up call from the director to see how things are going. They are still doing renovations and its lingering around. They can go out on bus trips and enjoyed that. They aren't real impressed with the food there you have 2 options then you also can get a sandwich too. I would still recommend this community.

We toured Cherryvale Place. It was a very nice and clean community. They offered to have her mixed into the assisted living downstairs residents, versus upstairs with the dementia patients. I didn't feel comfortable that the facility was secure enough to keep my loved one from wandering off.

Speaking ONLY for our family's situation, I must say that 3 staff members to watch over 25 residents is just not enough. My dad requires constant attention due to advancing Alzheimer's and weakness from not eating. We will continue to watch over him at home constantly. This is otherwise a great facility for assisted living.

When touring the community they thought they were not able to handle my dad's care based on his previous community experience. The staff did not want to try to give him shot that would help his behavior. They were not a suitable fit.

We decided not to use this community because of it's size. We thought it was too big for my mom to walk through.

The was nursing care only, so not a fit for us. The rooms were VERY small, microwave and mini fridge in kitchen.

We had a pretty nice tour of this community. Everyone was kind to my family, and myself. The community looked nice, and everything was well-kept. The staff was kind, and friendly. It was a good experience, but we didn't feel this was the community for my mother.

Beautiful decor. Newly remodeled, quiet due to only a few residents.

There were many factors that played into where to move my mother too. I did find another community that suited our needs better, my tour of this facility went well.
