A Place for Mom has scored Traditions Management with 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 205 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Traditions Management has 908 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.3 out of 5.
I wish I could give less than a 1 star rating. My family member is having the worst experience living at Traditions of Deerfield. We have complained to the 2-3 Executive Directors (too many to name) in the past year to no avail. We reached out to [name removed], a Corporate Manager. She came across as disingenuous and unconcerned. We were appalled as she continuously blamed former employees and took no responsibility for the shambles that this place is in. She dominated the entire conversation by over talking and not hearing our concerns. [name removed] insisted that she knows what is best for our family member even though our own physician disagrees. After numerous conversations and complaints, our concerns go unanswered. We have watched numerous good employees leave within the last two months causing serious concerns not only for my family but for other families that live here, as well. My opinion, don't move anyone into Traditions of Deerfield. We are left with a bad experience.

Don't go here. We had a terrible experience. The heating unit in the room didn't function properly, and I couldn't get hem to fix it. The care service was sporadic, and they didn't check in with any consistency regarding time of day. Even though the restaurant was not crowded, you couldn't get anybody to wait on you. Basically, the whole problem was the staff weren't trained properly, so there was no consistency in services performed from one staff member to another.

Facility is newer and beautiful but the care received was lacking, resulting in my loved one being hospitalized for a serious infection after being there less than two months. Medical head is an LPN, not a Registered nurse and residents only see a Physicians assistant, not an MD. Apartment was not kept clean and personal hygiene of our family member was lacking. My opinion, look elsewhere. We were paying for maximum level of care and I feel did not receive it at all.

Our loved one was in memory care, and the staff on that side was very below par and they spend most of their time hanging out in the office on their phones. Our loved one had a camera in her room, so we could see and we noticed one day she was not checked on for 12 hours straight. We went to the director about this problem and there was not one thing done about it.

I would tell people not to go to Gentry Park. The staff doesn't take care of the residents or watch them, in my opinion. The residents are left to roam and will sometimes get hurt. Then staff isn't held accountable. The food was good. The room was fine for my loved one.

We had taken our loved one there for dementia because they said they offered very structured activities and programs to keep them busy. After a month of being there he had still not been involved in any of those activities. The food was just okay, and the rooms were adequate.

Our loved one was only at this community for about a month, he had Alzheimer which came with some aggression, which turns out they could not handle it. We disclosed that aggression many times before moving him in, and they said they could handle it just fine, but that was not the case and they did not listen to us.

Beautiful facility when toured. Unfortunately the care or I should say lack of care was not in place when they opened in late 2019. The memory care is just an assisted living. They have no program in place to help the residence. They clam they have a BBT Program but there is nothing in the BBT room nor has it been used. Care takers are not trained in memory care or dementia. New aides come and go weekly due to overturn in that facility. They simply are not prepared to care for Assisted Living or Memory Care at this time at the Madeira, Ohio location. Indipendent Living area is beautiful.

I would never put a loved one here. The staff is a revolving door to include upper management, they leave residents in wet clothing for hours on end, there is no communication from management to staff, example; I have asked the kitchen or CNAs to cut my father's meat for him at meals for 11 months and it still isn't done. They left a dinner for him one evening with no utencils,. Meds are inconsistent. Should be closed.

Terrible response to medication needs of residents, usually late by 30 minutes to 90 minutes. No communication between staff members. Facility is understaffed can not meet the needs of residents in a timely manner. The food is subpar Management is ignorant on how to run this facility. Care does not justify the cost of this facility I would seriously not recommend this facility.

My father did not stay in Park Place. I relied in your recommendation and paid for a month, but I went to see it and decided it was not a good fit. It is very plain with no decor. The nursing staff I was told by a reliable professional is not attentive to the patients. It is like a 1950s nursing home.

Located conveniently and nice location on river. Dining is horrible with constant turnover. Food is often cold if you're not there with the mass feeding. Management staff seem inexperienced and give you the "deer in the headlights" look when problems are brought to their attention. My overall opinion is that Solana charges a lot of money and puts minimal effort in to really making this a home for our loved ones. Colin does a good job at sales but his pitch is not reality. They are understaffed, poorly organized, do not communicate internally and don't seem to care. They have a CYA approach to problems rather than a willingness to understand and work towards a resolution. Owners should focus on making this a place where people are waiting to live rether than building new facilities. Invest in what you have and do it well.

Memory Care has a impressive calendar of activities, however, very few are done. Had a meeting with Ryan (head of the facility) and his boss Jenny. Ryan admitted that the activity director was not able to do all the activities because she was doing CNA work. Ryan and Jenny assured us this would change. It did change but for the worse! The memory care residents just wander around without any direction. They are not encouraged to eat but the workers are in a hurry to clean up and send them to bed immediately after dinner. I have witnessed this and the management doesn't care. The meals provided are as cheap as possible and you had better hope your family member likes pasta and hot dogs. This is a personal experience and unfortunately other resident's family do not visit enough to see what is or is not going on. Would not recommend this facility to anyone. When you complain the staff gets a hateful attitude toward you. We have complained several times to Ryan but nothing is done. I do not feel like Ryan has any control over his employees or he doesn't know how to be assertive.

We had to place our mother into this facility that was clearly not ready to handle someone with Alzheimers. She was evaluated prior to admission and accepted into the assisted side and was transferred within a week to the memory care unit due to inability to stay within the confines of the building. She knew enough that she did not want to be there. After ONE day up in Memory care they shipped her out "to have her meds adjusted". This happened 3 more times and on the third event she was asked not to return. I have since been told that is common with this particular facility that unless you have a zoned out zombie or someone who is just happy all the time, they don't want you. We were told "we cannot watch her 24/7." So why did I pay them $5 K a month? They have only been open a year and a half and the staff clearly has never heard of the terms redirect or comfort before. They prefer to let someone just do the work for them. She was sent out more than she was under their roof in a two month time span. Don't recommend.

Cancelled appointment - Independent living is concentrated in separate cottages, and the main building is Assisted Living. Although people can live "independently" in the in AL building, this is not the atmosphere we are looking for.

This is a beautiful facility, and if you are pretty together then it's like a resort. However when we came to Meadow Brook they assured me that they could handle ALL kinds of dementia. I was assured and assured and assured again, that they could handle it. The kind of dementia we were dealing with had not been diagnosed yet. Once he was there they called him violent, I think because he would push people away from him. They told me that I would have to take him to a hospital because he was so dangerous. Their medical director violated every protocol in transferring mental patients. I had to deal with my loved one being confused and scared, and begging me to go home, that he would be good if I would please just let him come home, all because she didn't know the protocol. They had me transport him in the front seat of my car to the hospital, even though they considered him so dangerous, and they were concerned for their safety. I guess my safety is of no concern, or maybe he wasn't that dangerous. They didn't tell me that the place I was supposed to take him had a psychiatric entrance, and I was told to take him to the main entrance, which meant a 25 minute walk, with him begging and pleading the whole way, that exacerbated his health conditions (heart and lung conditions). They also did not check that there would be a bed for him there, and after four hours of waiting there was not one. My choices were then to take him home, or back to Meadow Brook. I opted Meadow Brook because that's where his medications were. Even then they said family would have to stay with him even though they supposedly still considered him to be dangerous. They then decided to transport him, in an ambulance this time, to a hospital with an opening. That place was awful and I believe led to his rapid decline, and impending death. They stressed to be and advertised that they could handle dementia. Not only was that not the case, they were not able to handle it, but they could not even follow protocol in transporting him.

The cleanliness of the community was very poor, our loved ones room was very clean. It was filthy, the dining rooms were dirty and they would sit the residents down at dirty tables and the meals were terrible our loved one lost significant weight being there. Our loved one fell multiple times due to the care services, and care givers not being on a consistent schedule. There would be times we would call and never received a phone call back. Our loved one was still very social and intelligent and it was not a stimulating environment at all.
