A Place for Mom has scored Traditions Management with 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 205 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Traditions Management has 908 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.3 out of 5.
The care is very poor especially for the cost most likely due to understaff and poor management. Leaving my parent in bed missing breakfast, meds and lunch many days per week. Very disappointing!

This is a brand new community that is not being open till January of 2017. I was still able to take a tour. The staff did tell me all about the place, but I did not really like it. The rooms are small and again not a lot of light for my loved one. The staff did answer all questions, but this is just not the right place.

It is just not very good care. My mom has had multiple falls and has ended up in the Emergency Room. They are understaffed. It has not been a good experience. It has really has affected my daily life. The food is fair. It is hard the staff is not well paid and they do not seem to care about the residents. They have had a lot of staff. To see this happen is heartbreaking.

We had a close family friend that worked there. And when we toured, we liked the atmosphere. In the end, they kicked her out after three weeks. She had gone out the emergency door twice. They didn't know how to handle her and they were also not staffed very well. We learned from our mistake. When we were selecting the place, she is at now

My Mother was there 8 months too long. We were always asked to be patient and give them time but nothing changed. They were always short staffed, residents wandered aimlessly due to lack of activities and care was poor. Memory care residents do not receive the same care and meals as the Assisted living residents and unless someone speaks for them no one would know. Desserts were rare and residents would wait to see if they would get one only to get up and leave the table or if lucky would get a packaged cookie. Staff are not trained to care for memory care people. Infection control is a serious issue and handwashing is lacking. The Executive Director acts like they care but it is obvious they only try to appease everyone. The company does not acknowledge issues and dismisses complaints.

After meeting with [name removed], the Director at that time, we agreed upon pricing. Now, just a few months after moving in, they add a $[removed] fee for the same services. Classic bait and switch. Way to stick it to a Senior on a fixed income.

Traditions at Camargo was a nice assisted living facility.. my mom was quickly moved to memory care little under a month after being there. The memory care was one of the most expensive around and the care was the lowest of all. We were very disappointed by the lack of care and the filth they left my mom to live in was very disappointing. I would not put them at the top of my list for someone in my mom's position..

I would not recommend this facility to anyone. My father was in the memory care unit there for literally 2 weeks and passed away. Yet, we still had to pay for the month after he passed away and wasn’t living there even though we gave the “30 day notice” when hospice told us they anticipated he would pass within 48 hours. Seems very shady and taking advantage of senior citizens. He also had gotten sick and was in his room basically beginning the dying process and NO ONE contacted us at all! We only found out when one of my siblings happened to stop by that evening and they called in hospice. The daytime staff are friendly, but the evening staff were not friendly and were abrupt with us when we asked any questions. They are taking care of your loved one and you would think there would be some compassion and caring towards family members. He would’ve been better off going home instead of being there, even though he was not mobile. Not impressed with them at all!

If your family member is not mentally competent and able to speak for their needs please do not put them here. My mom was thankfully alert and oriented and because of that she survived this place. There were multiple times she was given the wrong meds and she or I caught it by asking what each med was every time. She needed help showering but limited help. However she didn't receive showers regularly due to staffing issues. Heaven forbid she have an incontinent issue on occasion. They refused to help her shower after these if it wasn't her shower day. Her toilet constantly had issues and was left backed up over multiple weekends. Trash wasn't taken out regularly and caused odors. One of the nurses didn't clamp her urinary catheter correct once and it leaked all over her carpet. I had to cause a ruckus to get that cleaned. This place is a nightmare with a pretty bow.

There is nothing good about that place! I wouldn't take my dog there for boarding! The staff was lacking skills, competency, compassion. The only one there that cared about the residents was nurse [name removed],. There is just too much to say about the horrendous care my mother received there. The biggest was that she didn't get her meds and after being told repeatedly that I was less than 5 minutes away and I would come give them to her......was never called, she didn't get her meds and would have outbursts! I was told by one of the night nurses that it wasn't convenient to crush her meds and sneak them to her. I live with the regret of ever trusting that place with my mom. She was physically healthy when she went in there. She was physically there for 2 weeks and then removed (for the second time). She was taken to Riverside where she stayed for a month because ([name removed]) said she had to be 24 hours without a sitter before she could come back. She was at Riverside for 4 or 5 weeks, she had a stroke and I was able to bring her to my home to pass with hospice care. They can change the name all they want but until they get staff in there that really cares, pay them well, and vet people......it will all stay the same. Since my mother's death, I have talked to several others who have had loved ones there, I am/was not alone.

In 2021, I thought this would be a great facility for both my parents. Everything was great when I first moved them in. Living out of state, I was proactively notified if someone had fallen or there was any health concerns, which gave me great peace of mind. 12 months later, all of the staff, whom I and my Mom and Dad had established relationships left. There were instances when my Dad was taken by ambulance to the ER without notifying me. Management does not return calls. 2024 - Sadly, both of my parents have passed away (my Dad in Jan.) yet I’m still receiving past due invoices for charges I less than $[fee removed], after paying $[fee removed]/mo., no one will return my calls. I could go on with other examples, but unless you are local, can actively monitor the care of your loved one and want to manage monthly billing, I would NOT recommend this facility!

The move in process was horrible. There was no organization or documentation of what we needed. We were constantly told we needed just one more document. They did a phone assessment before she moved in. My MIL was in for 3 weeks and then we were given 24 hours to take her out. No warning. She was able to escape out an emergency door twice. They took no accountability for her escaping. Even though she had an appointment with her neurologist 2 days after, they didn’t give us a chance to get her medication changed. They were extremely understaffed. They did not encourage her to participate in the activities. I would definitely not recommend this facility to anyone.

My sister left there after about a month because it was so awful. Everyone seemed very nice but I soon realized my sister wasn't showering. When I brought it up they were not very helpful. My sister didn't need help just a reminder to shower every day. She had a hard time adjusting. Actually she never. They had her meds all messed up. They were giving her ones that she no longer was supposed to take . Someone had found meds that were in a cupboard that shouldn't have been brought to the facility. Nobody ever checked with me about any of that. Very concerning. When my sister moved in we did not even see a nurse. I'm sure that must be a requirement for admission.

I had a bad experience with my loved one in Memory Care. The management was poor and did not to be questioned or criticized. Too many staff were untrained, uncaring, and not properly supervised. Medical care was inadequate. Food service declined while my loved one was there. Seemed to be cuts in service to increase profits.

The staff does not get to know the residents and their lives prior to coming there. The residents are interactive with each other and a great group. The staff is not trained to understand the daily challenges people with dementia have. Everything they said they would do to learn about my family member's likes dislikes etc just didn't happen. There was no orientation by any department or walk through when arrived.

I do not purposely write mean and retaliatory reviews. If I am dissatisfied, I usually just don't respond to a review request, but my mother's one year residence at West Chester Assisted Living was more often difficult, frustrating and at times a danger. Communication between staff is awful. Staff to resident ratio is said to be optimal and meets requirements, but does not often meet the acuity of many residents. Call lights are not answered in a a timely fashion. My mother was sprayed all over her entire body with Fabreeze air freshener because the director of nursing said she "smelled" instead of assisting her with a shower! My mother fell many times requiring ER visits. My brother and myself would often times be the ones to find her lying on the floor. Her last fall split her head open and broke 5 ribs. She died 4 days later. The facility is new and beautifully decorated. Don't be fooled! Turnover rate is extremely high. We were promised the moon, but hit by an asteroid. So sad.

My loved one was previously a resident at West Chester Assisted Living and Memory Care and our experience at this facility was terrible. This facility is more like an Independent Living facility than it is an Assisted Living facility. The cleanliness was great, except for my loved one's room. As for the friendliness, the friendliness of the everyday staff was great but the friendliness of the Director of Nursing was terrible. The care services were poor. The staff was good except for the Director of Nursing. My loved one thought that the food was delicious. As far as the activities, they did not come get my loved one for them. They were also not giving my loved one the right medicine. They ordered medications that she wasn't even supposed to be on. When she moved in, we didn't even see a nurse. And one never called me to discuss a change in medications. Very strange. This facility was definitely not a good value for the cost.

To keep this short, we were over promised and under delivered. Nothing has met our expectations. Dining services ar e out of food half of the time and the kitchen and staff is dirty. The maintainer of the building is embarrassing. We’ve had at least five honchos in the last year. The activity program has done a complete 360 for the worst. We used to have happy hour three times a week, paint and sips, manicures and mimosas, bake and take, mom would be in her room and not come out but the tall curly hair woman always stopped by with a homemade goodie for her etc. with newsletters and Board updates. We also got activity calendars emailed to us once weekly.

The building is aging and doesn’t look well against other competitors, which I’m sure makes it hard to sell. I have decided to take mom and dad out of Solana for a few reasons, the cleanliness doesn’t meet our standards, the wellness director has a bad attitude, the new, 1 out of 30 in the last year executive directors is unprofessional and a resident told us at dinner that they overheard her in an interview in the clubroom that she was trying to get rid of the activities assistant without talking to the activities assistant first about taking her position away and the resident was very upset and angered! I’ll let the activities assistant know when we see her so she has can find a new job. A resident mentioned she hears the executive director talking bad about all of the staff like high school. The food menu isn’t consistent and for the price we pay we are out of here. I am suggesting someone from corporate contacts me. I’ll be submitting a 30 day notice within the week. Thank you!
