Truewood by Merrill, Venice is a smaller facility, so it has that homey feeling. The staff is friendly, the people are very helpful. It's been an overall good experience.

The staff members are very friendly and super helpful and the cleanliness throughout the community really stood out to us right away. We do think they could use a little more help in the med tech positions, but based on the experience we have had so far with Bayside Terrace we would recommend the community to other families

Getting settled and learning the routine was a little hard on all of us. Getting Mom to meals was challenging ( she had to remember to call on time to have someone come get her). Also, some things are not consistent in their routine-like picking up her trash. But overall, she loves it. She likes the food and always says everyone is very friendly and polite to her. And she especially loves her view of Lake Morton from the 8th floor!

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good experience, everything was positive.

The only issue we really had was communication. Several times my loved one needed to see the doctor and they were supposed to follow up with me afterwards. This went on for months waiting to hear back from those appointments. They finally updated us but that is something they can improve on. She says the food is always good. The facility is old and in need of renovations. They did say they would be doing those. The caregivers do a good job, they are always smiling and willing to help.

We liked Truewood by Merrill a lot because they have little neighborhoods and the residents get to know the 10 people who are in those neighborhoods. They are able to eat and socialize together without being overwhelmed. The room sizes are very nice, my mother has an efficiency apartment and it is great for what she needs. They are going through some changes since they got bought out, so they are really trying to fix everything up.

We went with Truewood by Merrill because it was the closest to where my loved ones rehab was and it was recommended to me. One thing I think they could definitely use improvement on is communication. I feel like I leave more voicemails than I get answers.

The staff is very friendly, it is a great value for the price. Although I do understand that the rates were raising the rates due to market value increases.

This is a great community; however, for the cost they need to be reevaluated for better services for dining. Initially the dining services were good and they have sense have gone down hill. The communication with the dining staff needs to be increased. There needs to be more outside activities coming in to diverse for the residents activities.

We had some glitches getting settled in, but things are improving. We chose this facility mainly due to the size of the apartments, they were more spacious. The value for the money played a large role as well. The nursing staff itself is great, but I think maybe the response time could be improved. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

We really enjoying how close-knit the residents are with each other. It really does have a family like atmosphere to it

When we toured Spring Haven it was older and dark. They are in the middle of re-painting and updating the facility and it looks much more bright and cheery. If we ever had to move my parents we would probably move them here that way my mom could go into assisted living and dad could go into memory care and they would be close to each other.

Considering how COVID has messed everything up were doing as well as we can!!!

Very well run with competent employees clean and healthy.

Overall, this place is 100% better than the last place. I was at I wouldn't even give them one star. I give Bayside 4 stars because there is always room for improvement, like my writing ability. There could be more activities and longer. One hour turns into less than 45 minutes. One thing that bothers me is the kitchen and dining room. Food is usually good however to clean up and get ready for next activity. Also glasses are to heavy and too small. I usually ask for 2 glasses. Staff has to carry 100 glasses a day, along with the heavy plates, and larger plates. Waitresses at restaurants have to be used now a days, with 3 or 4 days tables at once. Here they have to clean up 10 tables at a time.

Really nice place and people are like family.

I consider this my permanent home!

I have been here only 3 months. Still trying to get use to this kind of living.

I think the people are great. The food is okay.
