A very good choice

Overall experience - Again...always room to improve but overall, Mom is very happy there so we seem to have made a good choice. Cleanliness - There are some opportunities but overall, pretty nice. Friendliness of staff - I have enjoyed everyone I have encountered and they try hard to help. Quality of care - Mom is still independent living so isn't much but she appreciates the help with cleaning, etc and the fitness and PT help. Meals/Dining. She enjoys some meals and others not as much but they do offer a standing alternative menu if the prepared meals don't meet your palette. Activities This is one of the more creative calendars we saw in searching. They try really hard to offer lots of opportunities. Value for Cost It is a little pricier but what we appreciated most is that almost everything was included, including private WiFi and cable.

I toured Waters of Eden Prairie during my search for Independent Living for my loved one. This facility was nice! I really like the lady who runs the facility, they had an art program, and the facility was very clean. However, I didn't get a very busy/interactive vibe from the lobby, which I think is really important. It seemed like everyone was in their rooms.

The Waters offers a professional, positive, and friendly environment

My mother is a resident of The Waters of Edina and her experience overall has been very good. Some of things I would comment on are: the dining room is a bit slow when they bring your food and they were not very clear in the beginning when we wanted to order half a sandwich and we were getting charged for a full sandwich. The Staff overall is very well trained with a few exceptions. The activity calendar is good. I wouldn't call it great. I wish they had more art activities, but I guess in the past that wasn't a big hit there for some reason. Overall, I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Review of my Mom's new home

It's clean with lots of activities for the residents. There are great caring people at Waters. Most of the time it is very positive and staff adjust care base on my Mom's needs. For that we are grateful. Sadly I can see it is a struggle to find and retain the quality of staff they are seeking. Overall, my mom is in a good, safe place that is well located so family can visit regularly. The nursing staff are very responsive!

a very friendly loving well cared for community - could use more activities and efficient dining experience

The staff members are so sweet to our loved ones there, they really make them feel comfortable. Right when you walk in it just gives off a great energy and vibe. The food is fine there are no issues with the food, but the dining service is extremely slow at times and they make a ton of mistakes. They do have activities but we wish they just offered up more of a variety. In general we loved The Water of Edina.

Clean but extremely expensive

The pricing for the care is off the charts expensive. They also charge a $9 fee for meals being delivered to the room which I do not get because my loved ones room is right down the hall. The care is not transparent and the pricing is hard to understand. Other than the pricing, the facility is really great.

We had a really nice tour with Waters of Eden Prairie. The facility was lovely but it was expensive. They required a long stay before being eligible for elderly waiver, so that was why we did not choose them.

The caretakers were good

Everything was fine at Broadwell Senior Living. The only complaint we had is the RN, [name removed], was not very personable with the patients and our family. She stepped in at the end when our loved one was passing away; but in the 2 weeks we were there she didn't really talk to him or communicate with him - even during the intake process. It was kind of odd, and I'm unsure if they're used to taking in patients who were at his stage of life. When the hospice nurse came in, [name removed] (the RN), was very hostile during that time. Our loved one wasn't able to interact much, but it was still very frustrating.

Our family member is happy with Kingsley Shores. I would recommend it to other families.

Moving to Kingsley Shores has been really good for my family member. She has found companionship, and she likes how many activities there are to do. She likes the food mostly. And she likes her apartment. The staff has been really good. I would certainly recommend it to other families.

Getting better

It is a new facility and there are not many residents yet, so there are a lot of things that are getting better but they are not quite worked out yet, such as they do not have an activities director. Overall I would recommend Broadwell to others looking.
