Tour experience

We had a really nice tour with Waters of Eden Prairie. The facility was lovely but it was expensive. They required a long stay before being eligible for elderly waiver, so that was why we did not choose them.

The caretakers were good

Everything was fine at Broadwell Senior Living. The only complaint we had is the RN, [name removed], was not very personable with the patients and our family. She stepped in at the end when our loved one was passing away; but in the 2 weeks we were there she didn't really talk to him or communicate with him - even during the intake process. It was kind of odd, and I'm unsure if they're used to taking in patients who were at his stage of life. When the hospice nurse came in, [name removed] (the RN), was very hostile during that time. Our loved one wasn't able to interact much, but it was still very frustrating.

Our family member is happy with Kingsley Shores. I would recommend it to other families.

Moving to Kingsley Shores has been really good for my family member. She has found companionship, and she likes how many activities there are to do. She likes the food mostly. And she likes her apartment. The staff has been really good. I would certainly recommend it to other families.

Getting better

It is a new facility and there are not many residents yet, so there are a lot of things that are getting better but they are not quite worked out yet, such as they do not have an activities director. Overall I would recommend Broadwell to others looking.

The Waters does a good jo taking care of the residents and making it feel like home

The meals themselves are really good but with the staffing shortage the dining service is slow so sometimes the meals are cold and takes awhile to get delivered. The activities are wonderful.

Our experience with The Waters

We chose The Waters of Oak Creek because of their willingness to work with us as a family during the whole covid time, they were phenomenal. Myself and my mom were caregivers for my dad and they allowed us to come inside and visit. It is also a newer facility as well and they offered independent living so my mom could transition there. I think they are doing a great job caring for my dad but I feel that they need to have more training on how to manage people who have memory care issues. My dad is not a fan of the food but they have been good at trying to accommodate things that he wants/needs. They are working on getting medicaid certified so we are keeping our fingers crossed that that gets carried through. I would recommend to others looking.

A great home for my dad

The staff is great and they try really hard to make my dad and other residence feel at home. The room sizes are good and my dad has a 1 bedroom apt, the food was amazing but they have struggled with the food during covid. I would recommend this facility to others.

Overall a good community!

This community just felt right, the recruiter we spoke with was very helpful in the beginning and she seemed to really care about what was going on. The rooms are excellent, there is a variety to choose from. We would recommend this community to a family or friend. The only criticism we have with their COVID measure are a little to harsh. There has been no ability for my siblings or I to go visit our loved one unless it is through a glass window or out on the deck in the hot sun. We do understand and sympathize, but they just have not been very accommodating.

Unfortunate Timing for Our Parents Due to COVID

The day to day staff is great, the administration is ok. The food was amazing. It is a nice property. My parents had a great view and the largest apartments on property. The woman who dealt with invoicing, and nursing was poor to respond to my loved ones questions and concerns. My loved ones had to escalate the questions and concerns to get any questions answered. The cleaning staff was a quick cleaning, and seemed to only vacuum. I'm not sure if this was because of COVID. The maintenance team was excellent. The RAs were kind and loving. My parents were only there for five months. I would recommend this community to others. Due to COVID-my parents didn't get to do any of the activities, or meet other residents during their Stay.
