Experience so far - overpromised and underdelivered.

Right now they are understaffed. The maintenance team and the kitchen team need more help. It seems that several residents don't like the food, including my loved one. The vegetables are almost always undercooked. My loved one hasn't been able to get any hot water for a couple of weeks. However, it is a very clean and safe community. But I feel like what we were promised is not what we are receiving.

Tour of Anthology

I toured Anthology of Plano and it was very nice, but also very sterile. It was almost like a big corporation would run it. Our tour guide kind of rushed us through a bit; and the secretary was very matter-of-factly. We had to come in and sit in a certain place, it was not very welcoming. They had a beautiful facility, but we chose another community because of the corporate-y feeling here.

HaborChase Of McKinney review

When we first moved in it was a really good experience, but ever since that director left it went downhill. We were being charged extra for things that were not happening such as laundry and the bed being made. The food was also getting bad before we left. I went to visit one day and the residents were being served corn dogs and fries, there were not fruits or vegetables. A lot of the staff here are great, so if they can get things back on track it is a great facility.

This community was too big for my loved one and you did not feel like you were in a home it just felt like an institution. The people seemed happy it just seemed spread out and like too many people. The community was very stunning and attractive and modern we did like the way that they did things it was just not the right place for my loved one.

My tour review

I did not like this community and I looked at a lot of communities and this just did not work. The surroundings were not great and everyone was just siting around. This was just not the community and they were uncooperative and did not communicate well. Everything was timed and there were limits to seeing my loved one. They were out of our budget and the cost kept just going up at this community. Things just did not work out. The director was always busy and never available to speak. The community is beautiful but everything is difficult. The community it was prior was great but when ownership changed things just got bad.

A beautiful place, but there is not a lot of quick help when needed and the food is marginal at best

The community itself is beautiful, as well as the apartment our loved one has. It is so spacious, beautiful, and has a kitchenette. When it comes to the activities it is pretty quiet. The food really needs improvement, the menu that we were shown on the tour is far from reality. They do offer snacks during the days but it is very limited. When you go into the dining room they have the same menu over and over again so it is very repetitive, and since the dining service can be slow the food is served cold. They do have a salt water pool which is nice and a lift that can get you in and out. They also have a nice BBQ grill.

Lacks communication with the residents family

Some improvements The Village can make is the level of care that is described and what is promised and carried out is different. For example if our loved one was to get sick and need to get a test done they said it could be arranged with the community and get the test back in the same day. However when we actually experience that situation first hand it did not happen, and in fact the test was never performed. Management was a little lackadaisical.

Our tour experience

Our family was able to have an in person tour experience, and the sales and marketing team were wonderful and made us really feel that this was going to be the place for our loved one. However, the floor plan was awful for being a new building. There was no closet space or storage space in the apartments which was concerning for our loved one.

Our tour experience

Our family had an in person tour experience and the sales and marketing team were great, they really made us feel like this was going to be the community for our loved one. Unfortunately it was in the rain and we aren't sure if this was the cause of it, but the community just felt gloomy and not very uplifting. We did not see very many residents moving around and interacting with each other.

Very Unhappy and Disgusted

It's clean facility, and the people are friendly. But I'm not real happy with them right now. Be aware that if your family member can't do things for themselves, their call light is not going to get answered. The have quite a bit of staff turnover. I'm having to fight tooth and nail to get anything done. Her call button is not being answered. It's very frustrating. She's depressed. Things are not happening the way they're supposed to. We're paying out the nose, yet I'm having to do the things they're supposed to be doing - bathing her, changing her sheets, dealing with her catheter, changing diaper genie bags. I had to go over and get her out of bed recently because she had been hitting the call button for two hours and nobody came. Their in-house Infinity pharmacy is a waste of time. It's an extreme fight with everything to do with that. It is a big pain in the behind. And if you use an outside pharmacy, you have to pay monthly to do that, which is ridiculous. It's been very frustrating.
