Just found out the community has made a change in leadership -- long overdue. As a family member I hope things will improve quickly now that the Director is gone. The place is stunning and the staff try but always felt that they were being held back. Keeping my mom here for now, allowing them to do what I think they are capable of doing.

It was quite an adjustment for our family to get used to this type of care for a loved one, but now that everything has settled down we're pleased with the job that they do. It's a very nice, clean looking place, and the staff are all very friendly. They seem to have a good variety of activities to keep her active and entertained, and I like that all of the activities are located on the same floor she is on, so she won't have to wander around the facility.

It has been a week since move in. People already living there seem to be happy. The care providers seem to be pleasant, competent and very helpful. It has not been long enough to draw any real conclusions.

They've been great. My dad got in on the ground floor there and the staff has been extremely nice. My understanding is the activates are good. He doesn't do a lot but they do keep trying to get him to go. I think his favorite one is happy hour on Wednesdays. The residents love it! It's a gorgeous place, very pretty place because it's brand new. I had noticed that one lady had a room with a patio. Dad has a studio room and it's big compared to what he had before. There is a kitchen, sink, refrigerator, microwave. It's so nice and clean because it's brand new. It just opened in June.

The didn't offer to do anything for my loved one, and they have decided to leave. There were activities, not as many as promised due to the pandemic. During the pandemic they had several services that were cut out. The community wasn't supposed to clean the rooms of the residents, and they didn't do a good job at this.

We have been able to eat there a couple times with our loved one and it has been nice, the activities are somewhat still limited but they do have an activities schedule. The house keeping is supposed to come on a regular schedule but we are not sure it is happening in our loved ones room, but overall we are pleased.

From what we have been able to see, the activities the residents are able participate it seem to be good. We would recommend the HarborChase of McKinney community to others.

New clean fresh facility. Better than any previous places we’ve lived.

It was very nice, but expensive. I would recommend it, but it isn't right for my mom.

My parents ended up moving in. I/we are mostly happy with the decision, though it can take management quite a long time to get paperwork done, plus the care supervisor (nurse) has been slow to return phone calls. I generally find I have to follow up with additional phone calls to make sure paperwork is done and or get an answer to a question. I live close so I'm in touch frequently and so far I've managed to catch things before they become a big problem. On the other hand, the facility is very nice and the food is better than most. The people in the dining room are sweet and friendly. As far as activities go, more could be done to get my parents out of their apartment since they will not seek out activities on their own. Some of the activities just don't interest them, but some I think they would enjoy if another resident would just invite them.

This looked like a nice clean community when I visited. The people I met were nice and they seemed to offer some daily activities. I did not receive any follow up once I left the community.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming during my tour of this community. During my visit I had noticed that a lot of the residents in the memory care unit did not seem involved in any activities and seemed very lost and confused.

The staff was excellent at keeping the family informed with what was going on and staying up to date with our loved ones progress. The meals and activities where all great, and my mothers room was kept clean. There could have been improvement with the interaction between hospice and the caregivers at the community.

Mom enjoys participating in the exercise class and occasionally goes to bible study. The staff are excellent. The only issue I have with this community is that the food does not taste good it is served late, there is not a good variety and you cannot cut or eat the meat.

My aunt has been here for 1 month and I have had outside caregivers coming in on a 24 hour basis to help my aunt because she had knee surgery just after moving in. Therefore, I can't give a true analysis of the staff just yet. This facility is very clean and always smells nice. Most of the staff is really friendly. There have been some issues with the staff coming up to her room in a timely manner when the pendant button is pushed, which is a concern and I have addressed this with management and they are working on this. We also had some issues with the attendant picking up dishes if my aunt eats in her room which I have also spoke with them about. We will see if that improves. They have many activities and entertainment for the people living there and my aunt loves the food.

Village of Meyerland is a new high-rise assisted living and memory care building. The units are clean and staff is very friendly. Their memory care area is especially well staffed.

I will say the positive thing is that when she was in the hospital the staff made visits to her cat as he cried a lot and made sure he had food. I would have to bring it down a notch because of 2 reasons: 1. Emergency Button System Their system is not working. When a resident presses the emergency button a light appears at the front desk but not audible alarm. Once the receptionist sees the lighted button she radios back to memory care to go to that room. Supposedly there is also a board in a work room in memory care, but most of the time there isn't anyone in the work room. 2. The food is like 1 or 2 stars. My mother in law is very picky, but according to her it's not good.

It's not a very cheery place. There was no nice music playing for the people and my biggest thing is they say they take care of people but they don't have anybody to take care of of someone with diabetes so to me they don't have a full Care service and I would not put my loved one here. A woman was asleep at the table with her head almost in her plate sitting there all by herself that was a sad situation to see I had brought my loved one with me and he was mortified that I might consider putting him in a place like that take better care of these people. OK they're humans not just a paycheck.
