I didn’t like The Preserve at Palm-Aire as much as the place we ended up choosing. It was not as aesthetically pleasing. The apartments were not as big, and they were kind of dark.

My mom is at Summit. While we are mostly happy with the facilities, the pictures of the garden are misrepresented here. There are very few (if any) flowers, and only a few scraggly bushes planted. The much promised garden in actuality is a big disappointment and not at all as pictured.

No place is perfect. Arbor Terrace is better than most. They need more help in the memory care neighborhood. The day shift has the better all around caregivers. My recommendation would be that all caregivers on the memory care unit be given the virtual tour. I think it would help them understand what the patients are fighting everyday to function.

I do like the Preserve for my parents. They do have concerns about the old carpeting but they just painted! Looks better. They are also complaining about the dining experience as they are under staffed. The staff that is there is young,(probably 1st timers) in the work force with no customer service skills. Food is good with a variety of menus.

Great place for Mom. Very caring and attentive. Great food and clean and well organized.

I toured lots of places and when I toured this community it was fabulous. We were very impressed with how pretty and clean it was .The staff was nice and helped with all our questions. Was in my top 3 to chose from they just had a waiting list. So we had to go elsewhere.

Vantage at Cityview was one of several communities that I toured with my mother, and overall, we liked the community very much. From what we saw, the community was lovely and well kept, the staff was friendly and caring, and they had plenty to do to keep the residents busy. However, I felt that it was further away than I would have preferred to travel for a visit, and I thought I might be able to find a community closer but just a nice. As a result, we ultimately chose another community for her care

This was a nice tour from the friendly staff. The community was clean and we liked the atmosphere. The menu looked appealing. They offer activities for the residents who are able to participate. We would suggest that others tour this community for the care that is available for a loved one.

This was a beautiful community but way out of our price range. It is a new community only a few years old so everything is still new and looks very nice. The staff was very friendly and nice very informative. It seemed like they offered a variety of acitivites for the residents to keep busy.

The experience has been good for my mom and I picked this community because they were more convenient and closer to me. The meals are okay for my mom. She is fine and participating with the activities they offer. Her apartment is comfortable and cozy. The housekeeping is a little slow and it seems the facility is under staffed. I would recommend this community to family and friends if needed.

I am still adjusting to living at Harbor at Lakeway. They are not quick to respond when I press my pendent or with the food. The food is good sometimes. They do keep the community clean and there is a beautiful fountain in the lobby. I have found some of the residents do not seem friendly. They do offer daily activities.

The Preserve at Palm Aire is a nice community. It's a rather large community and seems a bit run down. During our tour, we realized it was not what my father needed at the moment.

The community is friendly and supportive. The facility, however, is poorly constructed. For the amount of money being spent, a little more attention could have been made when installing windows, hardware, updated appliances, placement of the electrical closet, etc.

The property is beautiful and the building was very well maintained with lots of great amenities and features. The staff was great and gave my love one and I a detailed and informative tour. The cost of the community was outrageous and way over priced.

They do a great job cleaning my dad's apartment and maintaining the building. The community is updated and nicely decorated. My dad has no complaints about the food. They just added a full time director Jennifer who has some great ideas and wants to make some changes. The community offers many activities such as movies, games, and exercise. They could benefit by adding more activities to stimulate those with mild dementia. My dad would benefit from an improved exercise program by adding some exercise equipment.

Solana looks like a Marriott hotel inside and it is supposed to give you the impression that everything there is first class, but it's really NOT! As a former nurse and employee in an assisted living/nursing home environment, they appear to be short-staffed here - especially on the weekends. This is evident when there was a fire drill and no one prepared our mother in advance or made sure she was out of her room - made us all wonder, did they even realize she was there? They certainly should have. Every Resident there should be accounted for in such an occurrence. We also have issues with the food and the dining room staff in particular - they are primarily 'kids' who do not know the meaning of the word professional and are poorly trained in customer service and a can-do attitude. Solana Management should address the need for appropriate training of the Food Service staff immediately. Food and the overall dining experience is a very important part of Residents' daily lives. As for the food itself, its covered in sauces or gravy and there is a real lack of healthy options - the vegetables are overcooked to mushiness and no real salad options for a salad lover like our Mom. Fried food is a not a favorite of the Residents either - occasionally but not regularly. We will be revisiting on a regular basis during mealtimes to monitor the level of service in the dining room as well as the quality of the food. This is not a cheap place to have our parent and we expect much better than what we have seen so far.

I think so far it's okay. I haven't heard any major complaints. It's still new and as I get a chance to spend some more time there, I will know more, but for now it seems to be okay.

Things are going so/so. It has been a bad time (with the holidays and everything). Although it would probably be the same anywhere, I just feel like there should be more feedback from the staff especially about medical care. There have been some communication issues, but they have done a good job with everything else.

The apartment is just lovely and it is the entire grounds are clean and nicely kept. Most of the people who work there are very pleasant. There are lots of good activities and trips- even if just to the supermarket and shopping. The food is ok -- does not always come out hot and the new Sunday brunch does not really work out well for people on walkers - not sure why they started that. But for the most part a very nice place to be.

Compared to the two other places: Manassas Health and Rehab and Burke Health and rehab Sudley was great. My biggest concern was their lack of concern with my Mothers' falling and the lack of any answers after she fell and broke her hip. She made it through surgery and after being moved to Burke Health and rehab were the lack of care ended with her having 7 compression wounds and a trip to Faifax INOVA Hospital were they took pictures and said we did not to send her back so we asked Sudley to take her back as we were still paying for her room through all this and they turned us down saying she required more care than they could provide! There were patients in the Memory Care in worse shape than Mom. We turned to them after they said once Mom was a resident they would always take care of her no matter what. We were heartbroken!!! Mom died 2/10/2014 at PW Hospital in Manassas,Va. four months after she left Sudley. My sister and I were with Mom every day no matter were she was and you learn FAMILY must be there to protect them or they are at the mercy of those caretakers. We had no idea that Memory Care places were so in need of caring loving people that see this as a calling! There is so much more to Mom's story we loved her dearly. Thanks for caring.
